Abstract

The underlying paper (1) for transparent where there is an intermittent strip of a contrasting color (2) applied to the entire width of the underlying paper and then this strip with transparent labels can be used on any labelling machines, whether they have a pickup sensor on the left, right or in the middle. Thanks to this, it is not necessary to produce an underlying paper (1) in multiple designs.

Description

Underlying paper for transparent labels
Technology area
The technical solution relates to self-adhesive labels primarily for packaging materials. Present condition of technology
In the past, self-adhesive labels on the underlying paper were produced as a strip of the underlying paper, on which were placed (glued) label with the appropriate print. The underlying paper was from a large majority of the semi-transparent material and the labels placed on it were made from different kinds of paper or similar material with a certain thickness. The gaps are created between the individual labels mounted on underlying paper.
Labelling machines contain, inter alia, also the sensor that provides information about the beginning of the each labels, which is detected on the basis of the different thickness of the material (transparency). On the basis of this information the label is removed by the machine from the underlying material and affixed at the designated place. Or it is ejected from the machine (printing equipment, packing, weighing, etc.) and removes manually.
With the development of the materials it proceeds also to transparent labels, when on the packaging of the goods is seen only the printing of these labels. These labels are too thin and the sensor informing about the beginning of the label is not to record this place by using the difference of the thickness (transparency) of the material. This leads to problems with the accurate (off from the underlying material) sticking of the labels. This shortcoming is now removed that the sensor reacts to change of the color of the underlying material. At the present time there are manufactured labelling machines with a sensor located on the left side of the strip of the underlying material, or in the middle, or on the right side of the underlying material. The underlying material has then in these places the contrasting color either in the right part, or in the left part or in the middle of the backing paper. Transparent color is then interrupted in the place of the beginning of the label when the sensor records this change and sets the beginning of the label for the process of sticking the labels on the packaging. This now used system of the marking of the beginning of the label using the intermittent strip of a contrasting color to the underlying paper is disadvantageous for reasons of the necessity to affix the underlying paper with a contrasting color to a specific machine at a specific location. This reduces the variability of the use of labels on another machine.
Principle of technical solution
The above-mentioned disadvantages to a large extent eliminates the underlying paper for transparent labels according to this technical implementation, where there is an intermittent strip of a contrasting color applied to the entire width of the underlying paper and then this strip with transparent labels can be used on any labelling machines, whether they have a pickup sensor on the left, right or in the middle. Thanks to this, it is not necessary to produce an underlying paper in multiple designs.
List of pictures in the drawing
The technical solution will be closer explained using the drawing, where figure 1 illustrates the underlying strip for the transparent labels with brought intermittent strip of contrasting color.
Examples of technical solution conduct
Underlying paper 1 for transparent labels is on one side provided with intermittent strip of contrasting color 2 when the gaps 3 between the strip of contrasting colors indicate the beginning of the label.
Industrial efficiency
This technical solution is usable especially in the area of packaging materials.
