Abstract

The present invention relates to a translation system (1) wherein text, voice or text- containing video messages received from a user by means of instant messaging are translated from a determined source language into a desired target language and they are shared with the user.

Description

A TRANSLATION SYSTEM Technical Field
The present invention relates to a translation system wherein text, voice or text- containing video messages recei ved from a user by means of instant messaging are translated from a determined source language into a desired target language and they are shared with the user.
Background of the Invention
Today, a large number of technologies are used for translation, voice recognition and image recognition transactions and these technologies are provided to users under different infrastructures. A user uses different infrastructures when s/lie wants to get translation done whereas s/lie transmits the translation request by entering the text again for translation of the text included on the image and again a different system is used for translation by voice recognition. The fact that different systems are used for each different transaction and users need to enter text for translation of the text located on the image prolongs translation transactions and this leads to customer dissatisfaction.
'The European patent document no. EP .1979858 discloses a system wherein a software data extraction is performed from image data when an image comprising text is captured by mobile terminal. In the said system, the image captured by mobile device is processed by optical character recognition unit. Words detected as a result of processing are compared in a database included in the system. The meaningful dialogue generated by the detected words can be listened to the user by a synthetic voice at the request of the user. The United States patent document no. US8812295 discloses a system for enabling to translate contents containing a plurality of foreign languages by being in various social media networks in order that a user can understand them, in the said system, the parts containing the text portion on the page where the user is present are translated by the system automatically. The text portion in the contents are controlled by the language identification engine in the system. The user's language and the texts in the contents in the social network are compared with each other, translated in user's mother tongue and displayed on the page in the social network. Summary of the Invention
An objective of the present invention is to realize a translation system wherein text, voice or text-containing video messages received trom a user by means of instant messaging are translated into a desired target language and they are shared with the user.
Another objective of the present invention is to realize a translation system wherein text translation, voice recognition, optical character recognition and language detection techniques are used and the said techniques are provided over a single system.
Another objective of the present invention is to realize a translation system wherein different ways for real-time translation are gather under a single roof and a large number of functions are fulfilled over a single roof instead of a large number of systems for translation.
Detailed Description of the invention
"A Translation System" realized to fulfil the objectives of the present invention is shown in the figure attached, in which:
Figure 1 is a schematic view of the inventive translation system. The components illustrated in the figure are individually numbered, where the numbers refer to the following: 1. System

4. Voice recognition server
5. Image recognition server
6. Translation unit
The inventive, system (1 ) used for translating messages received from a user by means of instant messaging into a desired language comprises:
at least one database (2) wherein source and target languages are defined and stored;
at least one translation server (3) which enables translation of text content sent over instant messaging is translated from source language into target language;
at least one voice recognition server (4) which enables definition of voice content sent over instant, messaging and its translation from source language into target ianguage after the definition and also reading of text content sent or translated by means of instant messaging;
at least one image recognition server (5) which ensures that text is extracted from inside image sent by means of instant, messaging and translated from source language into target language; and
- at least one translation unit (6) whereon instant messaging communication with user is established; transmits text, voice or visual elements transmitted by a user to related servers (3. 4, 5) and waits answer from the servers (3, 4, 5); in the event that a positive answer is received, transmits the incoming message to the user by means of instant messaging; in the event that negative message is received, transmits it to the related servers (3, 4, 5) again so as to be processed without source language information. in preferred embodiment of the invention, a user performs source and target language determinations on the database (2) at first. The user can make amendments on source and target languages on the database (2). Determined languages are stored in the database (2) and in the event that an amendment is made in source or target language, it is updated in the database (2). In preferred embodiment, source and target languages must be defined in the database (2) in order to receive correct and definite answers for translation in translation transaction. Thus, translation transaction takes a shorter time. In the inventive system (I ), database is MongoDB. in preferred embodiment, the translation unit (6) detects content of the instant message sent by the user and decides on which server (3. 4, 5) it will be processed at first. The translation unit (6) transmits the instant message to the translation server (3) if it comprises only text, to the voice recognition server (4) and then the translation server (3) if it comprises voice, to the image recognition server (5) at first and then translation server (3) again if it comprises visual.
The translation unit (6) transmits the text desired to be translated and received by means of instant messaging to the translation server (3 ) by the predetermined source and target language information. The translation unit (6) waits for translation of the text that it has transmitted from the translation server (3) and in the event that answer of the translation is successful, it transmits the translated text to the user by means of instant messaging.
The translation unit (6 ) transmits the text to be translated without source language information and waits for determination of the text language automatically from the translation server (3) in the event that it receives a negative answer from the translation server (3). Thus, accuracy of the translation is enhanced. The translation server (3) transmits the automatically determined source language information and the second message wherein the translated text is included to the translation unit (6). The translation unit (6) transmits the translated text included in the second message received to the user again by means of instant messaging. The translation unit (6) waits for the user to enter a command before the text sent or translated previously if ii wants the translated text and/or a text incoming from the user to be vocalized. In preferred embodiment, "read" command is put before the text. The translation unit (6) transmits the received text to the voice recognition server (4) having text reading feature together with target language information and waits for voice response to come. The translation unit (6) transmits the received voice response to the user by means of instant messaging.
The translation unit (6 ) receives the voice record recorded by the user by means of instant messaging and sends it to the voice recognition server (4) together with the source language information in order that, the text is detected. The translation unit (6) receives the defined text from the voice recognition server (4) and transmits it to the translation server ( 3) so as to be translated together with the source and target language information. The translation unit (6) waits for translation of the text that it has transmitted, from the translation server (3) and in the event, that the translation's answer is successful, it. transmits the transiaied text to the user by means of instant messaging. The translation unit (6) transmits the text to be translated without source language information and waits for the text language to be automatically determined from the translation server (3). in. the event that it receives a negative answer from the translation server (3). The translation server (3) transmits the second message wherein the automatically determined source language information and the translated text are included to the translation unit (6). The translation unit (6) transmits the translated text included in the second message received to the user again by means of instant messaging.

The translation unit (6) waits for translation of the text that it has transmitted from the translation server (3) and transmits the translated text to the user by means of instant messaging in the event, that the trans! ad on answer is successful. The translation unit (6 ) transmits the text to be translated without source language information to the translation server (3 ) and waits for determination of the text language automatically, in the event that it receives a negative answer from the translation server (3). The translation server (3) transmits the automatically determined source language information and the second message wherein the translated text is included to the translation unit (6). The translation unit (6) transmits the translated text included in the second message received to the user again by means of instant messaging.

Ihe translation unit (6) transmits the voice response that it receives from the voice recognition server (4) to the user again by means of instant messaging.
With the inventive translation system (1 ), translation of a content to be translated that is included inside text, voice and image is performed. The text included inside the message transmitted by the user is translated from a predetermined source language into target language by the user with the said system. The fact that the source and target languages are predetermined in the database (2) enables the user to carry out a transaction independent and time-saving during a translation transaction. In the event that the system (1 ) encounters a negative answer in translation stage, it determines the source language iniormation automatically and transmits the text - that is translated from automatically determined source language information into target language information- to the user by means of instant messaging.
With the inventive translation system ( I ), both translation, voice recognition and image recognition are gathered under a single roof by using instant messaging bot. Different functions axe fulfilled in the system (1) by entering different commands on the instant messaging bot.
Within these basic concepts; it is possible to develop various embodiments of the inventive translation system ( 1 ). the invention cannot be limited to examples disclosed herein and it is essentially according to claims.

Claims

1. A translation system (1 ) used for translating messages received from a user by means of instant messaging into a desired language; characterized by:
at least one database (2) wherein source and target languages are defined and stored;
- at least one translation server (3) which enables translation of text content sent over instant messaging is translated from source language into target language;
ai least one voice recognition server (4 ) which enables definition of voice content sent over instant .messaging and its translation from source language into target language after the definition and also reading of text content sent or translated by means of instant messaging;
- at least one image recognition server ( 5) which ensures that text is extracted from inside image sent by means of instant messaging and translated from source language into target, language; and
at least one translation unit (6) whereon instant messaging communication with user is established; transmits text, voice or visual elements transmitted by a user to related servers (3, 4, 5) and waits answer from the servers (3, 4. 5); in the event that a positive answer is received, transmits the incoming message to the user by means of instant messaging; in the event that negative message is received, transmits it to the related servers (3, 4, 5) again so as to be processed without source language information.
2. A translation system ( ! ) according to Claim I ; characterized by the communication device (2) whereon a user can make amendments on source and target languages.
3. A translation system ( 1) according to Claim 1. or 2; characterized by the communication device (2) wherein determined languages are stored and in the event that an amendment is made in source or target language, it is updated.
4. A translation system ( ! ) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized by the translation unit (6) which detects content of the instant message sent by the user and decides on which server (3, 4. 5) it will be processed at first.

A translation system ( 1) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized by the translation unit ( 6) which transmits the instant message to the translation server (3) if it comprises only text, to the voice recognition server (4) and then the translation server (3) if it comprises voice, to the image recognition server (5 ) at first and then translation server (3) again if it comprises visual.
6. A translation system (1.) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized by the translation unit (6) which transmits the text desired to be translated and received by means of instant messaging to the translation server (3) by ihe predetermined source and target language information.

A translation system (1 ) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized by the translation unit (6) which waits tor translation of the text that it has transmitted from the translation server (3 ) and in the event that answer of the translation is successful, transmits the translated text to the user by means of instant messaging.
8. A translation system (1) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized by the translation unit (6) which transmits the text to be translated without source language information and waits for determination of the text language automatically from the translation server (3) in the event that it receives a negative answer from the translation server (3).
9. A translation system (I ) according to Claim 8; characterized by the translation server (3) which transmits the autoinaiicaliy determined source language information and the second message wherein the translated text is included to the translation unit (6).

10. A translation system ( ! ) according to Claim 9; characterized by the translation unit (6) which transmits the translated text included in the second message received to the user again by means of instant messaging.
11. A translation system (1 ) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized, by the translation unit (6) which waits for the user to enter a command before the. text sent or translated previously if the translated text and/or a text incoming from the user is desired to be vocalized.
12. A translation system (! ) according to Claim 1 1 ; characterized by the translation unit (6) which transmits the received text to the voice recognition server (4) having text reading feature together with target language information and waits for voice response to come.
13. A translation system (I) according to Claim 12; characterized by the translation unit (6) which transmits the received voice response to the user by means of instant messaging.

A translation system (1.) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized by the transiation unit (6) which receives the voice record recorded by the user by means of instant messaging and sends it to the voice recognition server (4) together with the source language information in order that the text is detected.
15. A translation system (I) according to Claim 14; characterized by the translation unit (6) which receives the defined text from the voice recognition server (4) and transmits it to the translation server (3) so as to be translated together with the source and target language information.

A translation system (1 ) according to Claim 15: characterized by the translation unit (6.) which waits for translation of the text that it has transmitted from the translation server (3) and in the event that the translation's answer is successful, transmits the translated text to the user by means of instant messaging.

A translation system ( I ) according to Claim 16; characterized by the translation unit (6) which receives the text before which command is entered by means of instant messaging and transmits it to the voice recognition server (4) having text reading feature together with target language information, in the event that the user wants the translated text received from the voice recognition server (4) to be vocalized.

A translation, system ( 1) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized by the translation unit (6) which transmits the text, that is included inside the image taken by the user and transmitted by means of instant messaging, to the voice recognition server (4) in order that the text is detected from inside the image received at first in order to provide its translation.
19. A translation system (1) according to Claim 18; characterized by the translation unit (6) which transmits the text that it receives from the image recognition server (5) as defined, to the translation server (3) so as to be translated together with the source and target language information.

A translation system (1 ) according to Claim 19; characterized by the translation unit (6) which waits for translation of the text that it has transmitted from the translation server ( 3) and transmits the translated text to the user by means of instant messaging in the event that the translation answer is successful.
21, A translation system (1 ) according to Claim 20; characterized by the translation unit ( 6) which receives the text before which command is entered by means of instant messaging and transmits it to the voice recognition server (4) having text reading feature together with target language information, in the event that the user wants the translated text received from the voice recognition server (4) to be vocalized.
