Abstract

The method relates to internal lining of tubes through the insertion of two pigs, between which a curing material is inserted, said pigs are connected through a cylinder which forces the particles of the curing material towards the inner surface of the tube, thus providing efficient repair from inside.

Description

The method of repair from inside of large diameter pipes
This invention relates to the field of pipe repair methods. In particular, the method of repairing pipes from the inside.
A method for repairing pipes from the inside is known. A description of this can be found at www.curapjpe.com. In this case elastic particles are inserted into the tube. The particles are impregnated with reinforcing material. The elastic particles together with the liquid flow move inside the pipe.
When they pass through the hole in the tube, they, along with the entire flow, enter it and block from the inside. Over time, the particles harden and create a solid and reliable cork. Recently, this method is very common. But he also has shortcomings. Particles that are far from the inner surface of the pipe have practically no chance of being used. Especially this happens during the repair of large diameter pipes, for example, more than 8 inches.
It is an object of the present invention to overcome this disadvantage. This is achieved due to the fact, that an additional cylinder is installed between the front and rear pigs.
Figure 1 shows a diagram explaining the operation of the prototype method.
Here is a pipe requiring repair; 2- front pigs. ; 3-back pigs.; 4- hole in pipe 1, which must be closed during repair; 5 and 6 are the particles, in which the hardening material is located. It can be seen from FIG. 1, that the particle 5 and the particle 6 have a different possibility of being used for repair. So, a particle, that is far from the inside of all the pipes ,is practically useless.
Figure 2 is a schematic diagram explaining the operation of the method, according to the proposed technical solution. Here 1- pipe, 2-front pig., 3-rear pig; 4-holes in pipe 1, that during repair;5 and 6- elastic particles, impregnated with the composition, which after some time hardens, resulting in a solid plug;7 and 8-additional toroidal parts. In these holes these parts are installed cylinder 9. It can be hollow and a spring 10 can be arranged inside it. The latter, by means of the stops 101 and 102, can act on 2 and 3 pigs . The part 8 can have an empty cavity 81, closed by the valve 84. When the pigs 2 and 3 move along the pipe, they carry the parts 7 and 8 along of the cylinder 9. The presence of this cylinder does not allow the particles 5 and 6 to move away from the inner surface of the tube 1. And when one of the particles moves near the hole 4 , she enters this hole and plugs it. Since the particles have a liquid hardening material, a solid plug is formed here.
If the pressure in the pipe 1 is too large, then the spring 10 through the stops 101 and 102 resists the approach of the pigs. If this does not help completely and the pressure between the pigs 2 and 3 is greater, than desired, the safety valve 84, which is installed in the cavity 81, is triggered.
The size of the diameter of the cylinder 9 must correspond to the relation

Where: d - is the diameter of the cylinder 9 in cm, D - is the diameter of the pipe 1 to be repaired in cm;
K = 0, 45 ... 0, 5; n = 4 ... 8.
In this case, the reliability of repairing a large-diameter pipe will be the same as the reliability of repairing a pipe of smaller diameter. The intended goal will be met. It is clear, that the additional cylinder can be with changing length.

Claims

1. The method of repair from inside of large diameter pipes, in which the space between the rear and front horns to install additional toroidal elements in the holes ,in which a cylinder is installed, the diameter of which is smaller, than the diameter of the pipe.
2. The method of claim 1, wherein the cylinder diameter is selected by the empirical dependence of the bracket (1).
3. The method of claim 2 ,in which the cylinder is axially movable relative to the torus of the
shaped parts.
4. The meters according to clause 3, which establishes additional force elements,acting on the pigs.
5. The method according to clause 4, in which a spring is used as an element of force action.
6. The method according to clause 5, in which the spring is mounted inside the additional cylinder.
7. The method according to clause 6, in which the spring acts on the pigs through the stops.
8. The method of clause 7, in which the cylinder performs the ability to change its length with relative movement of the pigs.
9. The method according to clauses 1- 7 with the description, figures and empirical dependence.
