Description

MULTIPOINT DOOR LOCK
[0001] The present invention refers to a multipoint door lock, particularly to a built-in lock for external door comprising a central blocking device with a deadbolt and a latch bolt located in a box of the central blocking device and can be displaced in parallel relative to each other, wherein the deadbolt is operated by means of a key and/or a rotating knob, and the latch bolt is operated either by means of a handle via a hub, by means of a key or a rotating knob, and additional blocking device with a latch bolt located inside additional blocking device, wherein the latch bolt is operated by means of a driving bar.
[0002] Multipoint door lock of the aforementioned kind is known from the publication of the patent No. EP 0 915 221 Bl. Therein is disclosed a door lock where a deadbolt is connected by means of a double-armed lever with a rotational element driven by a key or a rotating knob. One arm of the lever is pivotally coupled with the rotational element, while the other arm is pivotally coupled with the deadbolt, whereby the arms are pivotally connected together by means of the free ends thereof. In addition, said door lock comprises additional latch bolt which moves automatically out of the housing when the door opens. To this extent, the latch bolt is provided with a longitudinally extending groove in which a blocking element is located. The latter is provided with a blocking nose and with a release nose that cooperate during blocking of the door lock. A disadvantage of said solution is represented by the fact that the door lock is not blocked in the position when the door wing is closed. If the door are to be blocked, an additional operation of the door lock itself is required.
[0003] It is the object of the present invention to create a multipoint door lock which remedies drawbacks of the known solution.
[0004] The object as set forth is solved, according to the present invention, by features disclosed in the characterising part of claim 1. Detail of the invention is disclosed in respective sub-claims.
[0005] The invention is further described in detail by way of non-limiting embodiment, and with a reference to the accompanying drawings, where Fig. 1 shows a three-dimensional view of multipoint door lock according to the invention in a blocking position,
Fig. 2 shows a view in direction of the arrow II of Fig. 1 of a first blocking device with removed cover,
Fig. 3 shows a view in direction of the arrow III of Fig. 1 of an additional blocking device with removed cover,
Fig. 4 shows a view from the opposite side of the additional blocking device of Fig. 3 with removed cover,
Fig. 5 shown the additional blocking device of Fig. 4 in a blocking position.
[0006] Multipoint door lock according to the invention comprises a first that is a central blocking device 1 and at least one second that is an additional blocking device 2 spaced in longitudinal direction from said central blocking device, wherein the blocking devices 1, 2 being fixed to a front bar 3 and mutually linked by a driving bar 4. Said door lock is intended to be built-in to a door wing (not shown in Figures) in a manner that each blocking device 1, 2 fits a groove being provided for in the door wing, wherein said front bar 3 with the door lock installed faces the door wing. Immediately under the front bar 3 and at the side averted from said door wing thereof there is located said driving bar 4 which is operated by means of a key and a cylinder, for instance, arranged in the central blocking device 1.
[0007] The central blocking device 1, as shown in Fig. 2 with removed cover, comprises a box 5 with a latch bolt 6 and a deadbolt 7 located inside, said bolts 6, 7 being movable in the plane of the box 5 in direction towards and away from the front bar 3. In the shown basic position of the central blocking device 1 the latch bolt 6 is located in an entirely extended position outside the box 5, whereas the deadbolt 7 is located in an entirely retracted position inside the box 5. In addition, a nut 8 is rotatably arranged inside the box 5, comprising a through-hole 9, preferably a square shaped through-hole in order to accommodate a respective pin of a handle or similar actuating element. In the area directly above the latch bolt 6 and the deadbolt 7 there is arranged a connecting element 10 (shown in a dashed line in Fig. 2) which can be displaced transversally with regard to said direction of movement of the latch bolt 6 and, respectively, the deadbolt 7 that is in longitudinal direction of the front bar 3. Each longitudinal end 10', 10" of said connecting element 10 linked, for example in a manner of mortise and tenon, with a driving bar 4 which extends under said front bar 3 to said additional blocking device 2. Further, the box 5 is formed in the area under the deadbolt 7 with a through-hole 11 to accommodate a blocking cylinder not shown. Said connecting element 10 can be displaced by means of a cam of said blocking cylinder operated by a key. Said displacement is carried out in a manner that said cam acts on a pusher 12, which is linked with the connecting element 10, and said pusher 12 moves the connecting element 10 in said longitudinal direction of the front bar 3. Simultaneously, the connecting element 10 acts via a hook 13 on a latch bolt 6 and moves it into interior of the box 5, and the possibility of opening the door is thus enabled. When the user releases said key that operates the blocking cylinder, a spring 14 being held by a carrier 15 pushes the connecting element 10 back into the initial position (shown in a dashed line in Fig.
2) ·
[0008] The additional blocking device 2, shown in Fig. 2 in its basic position with a removed cover, comprises a box 16 inside which are arranged a latch bolt 17 and a trigger 18 that can be displaced in a plane of the box 16 in direction towards and away from the front bar 3. In the shown basic position of the additional blocking device 2 the latch bolt 17 is located in a first that is a partially extended position outside the box 16, whereas the trigger 18 is located in the entirely extended position outside the box 16. In the area immediately above the latch bolt 17 and the trigger 18 there is arranged a connecting element 19 (shown in a dashed line in Fig.
3) which can be displaced transversally with respect to said direction of movement of the latch bolt 17 and, respectively, the trigger 18, that is in the longitudinal direction of the front bar 3. At least one longitudinal end 19', 19" of said connecting element 19 is linked with a driving bar 4, for example in a manner of mortise and tenon, that extends under said front bar 3 from said blocking device 1 and/or to the neighbouring additional blocking device 2. Said trigger 18 is formed with a groove 20 extending offset with regard to the direction of the movement of the trigger 18. Said groove 20 cooperates with a slider 21 and the other end thereof cooperates with the latch bolt 17. The latch bolt 17 is articulated at the opposite side with a spring 22 loaded lever 23. Moreover, a spring 24 loaded rocking arm 25 is provided in the box 16, the first end of said rocking arm cooperates with the latch bolt 17 and the other end of the rocking arm is formed with a projection 26 configured to cooperate with a notch 27 in the connecting element 19.
[0009] When closing the door, the door frame acts on the latch bolt 17 and on the trigger 17 and pushes both into interior of the box 16. The trigger 18 operates via the groove 20 the slider 21 displacing it off the engagement with the latch bolt 17, thus, enabling the latch bolt 17additional moving in the direction towards the driving bar 4. The lever 23 pushes as possible as it goes the latch bolt 17 out of the box 16 into a receiving groove provided in the door frame. Now, the latch bolt 17 reaches its ultimately extended and, respectively, blocking position. Influenced by the spring 24 said first end of the rocking arm 25 is positioned into a groove provided on a latch bolt 17, wherein said other end of the rocking arm 25 having the projection 26 is moved into immediate vicinity of a notch 27 on the connecting element 19.
[0010] The multipoint door lock according to the invention and in the present embodiment can be unblocked by means of a key that is used in the central blocking device 1 to operate the driving bar 4. By rotating said key said nut 8 is also rotated causing, on one hand, the latch bolt 6 of the central blocking device 1 to retreat into the box, and causing, on the other hand, the connecting element 10 to move. Said movement of the connecting element 10 of the central blocking device 1 causes displacement of the driving bar 4, which acts on the connecting element 19 of the additional blocking device 2. Said displacement of the connecting element 19 operates via the notch 27 onto the projection 26 of the rocking arm 25 displacing, thus, said rocking arm 25 from the engagement with the latch bolt 17. Simultaneously, the connecting element 19 acts with a projection 28 provided on the connecting element 19 in the area of the first longitudinal end 19' thereof onto the leg of the lever 23 which causes the latch bolt 17 of the additional blocking device 2 to be completely retracted into the box 16. As a result, both blocking devices 1, 2 are unblocked in the described manner, and the door provided with the multipoint door lock according to the invention can be opened. The spring 29 acting upon the trigger 18 pushes the latter from the box 16, whereby said offset groove 20 switches the slider 21 back to the engagement with the latch bolt 17.
[0011] Multipoint door lock according to the invention enables the door to be automatically closed and blocked each time the door wing is closed. Entrance from the outside without a key is thus prevented. During closing the door, the door frame drives over the lath bolt and the trigger resulting in activating the mechanism, and the latch bolt moves forward for approximately 10 mm with regard to the basic position.
