Abstract
Embodiments of the present disclosure may include identification of a preferred mode, selecting a long term evolution (LTE) connection mode or an evolved LTE (eLTE) connection mode based at least in part on the identified preferred mode, and transmission of an indication of the selected connection mode to a wireless network. An apparatus may include memory to store an indication of a preferred connection mode and processing circuitry to generate a first message to provide an indication of a preferred connection mode, process a second message that includes an indication of a selected connection mode from a first UE in response to the indication of the preferred connection mode, and facilitate a connection of the first UE to a core network based at least in part on the indication of the selected connection mode.
