실시예는 금속 플레이트에 용접 첨가재를 미리 투입하여 금속 간의 용접을 용이하게 하는 용접 첨가재가 구비된 금속 플레이트 및 이를 이용하는 용접 방법에 관한 것이다.
일반적으로 철강 소재는 수분이나 염분에 의해서 쉽게 부식이 일어나기 때문에 산업에 이용되기 위해서는 보호막의 코팅이 필수적이다. 철강 소재의 부식을 방지하기 위한 보호막으로써, 철강 소재 표면에 아연을 도금하여 사용하는 것이 일반적이다. 아연과 함께 알루미늄, 마그네슘 및 이들의 합금도 철강 소재의 부식을 방지하기 위한 보호막으로 이용되고 있다.
합금 소재의 강판에 존재하는 표면 코팅 영역은 강판의 목적에 맞추어 다양한 재질의 금속으로 코팅이 되어, 다양한 두께와 고유의 기계적 특성을 가지게 된다.
합금 소재의 강판은 용접을 통해 다양한 물품으로 제조가 가능하다. 이러한 강판의 용접방법에는 점 용접, 맞대기 용접 등의 다양한 용접방법이 사용되고 있다.
그러나, 이러한 합금 소재의 강판을 용접하는 경우, 표면 코팅의 일부가 용접작업에 의해 만들어진 용융 영역 내부로 삽입되게 된다. 이러한 외래적인 금속 원소들은 특히 액체 금속의 강한 대류 흐름에 의해 집중된다. 이 원소들은 용해된 원소들의 최고 농도를 가지는 액체 분이 위치하는 수지상간 공간에서 합금조성이 불균일하게 한다.

본 발명은 다양한 변경을 가할 수 있고 여러 가지 실시 예를 가질 수 있는 바, 특정 실시 예를 도면에 예시하고 설명하고자 한다. 그러나, 이는 본 발명 실시 예를 특정한 실시 형태에 대해 한정하려는 것이 아니며, 실시 예의 사상 및 기술 범위에 포함되는 모든 변경, 균등물 내지 대체물을 포함하는 것으로 이해되어야 한다.

실시 예의 설명에 있어서, 어느 한 element가 다른 element의 "상(위) 또는 하(아래)(on or under)"에 형성되는 것으로 기재되는 경우에 있어, 상(위) 또는 하(아래)(on or under)는 두 개의 element가 서로 직접(directly)접촉되거나 하나 이상의 다른 element가 상기 두 element 사이에 배치되어(indirectly) 형성되는 것을 모두 포함한다. 또한 "상(위) 또는 하(아래)(on or under)"으로 표현되는 경우 하나의 element를 기준으로 위쪽 방향뿐만 아니라 아래쪽 방향의 의미도 포함할 수 있다.
이하, 첨부된 도면을 참조하여 실시 예를 상세히 설명하되, 도면 부호에 관계없이 동일하거나 대응하는 구성 요소는 동일한 참조 번호를 부여하고 이에 대한 중복되는 설명은 생략하기로 한다.
도 1 내지 도 9는, 본 발명을 개념적으로 명확히 이해하기 위하여, 주요 특징 부분만을 명확히 도시한 것이며, 그 결과 도해의 다양한 변형이 예상되며, 도면에 도시된 특정 형상에 의해 본 발명의 범위가 제한될 필요는 없다.
도 1은 일반적으로 표면 처리된 금속 플레이트의 구조를 나타내는 도면이다.
도 1을 참조하면, 일반적으로 표면 처리된 금속 플레이트(100)는 기본 베이스가 되는 소재(150)와, 금속 플레이트(100)의 용도에 맞추어 변형 실시될 수 있는 표면 처리 영역(110) 및 표면 처리 영역(110)과 소재(150) 사이에 위치하는 용융영역(130)을 포함할 수 있다.
소재(150)는 용도에 따라 다양한 금속재가 사용될 수 있으며, 일 실시예로 강철이 사용될 수 있다.
표면 처리 영역(110)은 금속의 표면을 도장, 도금, 용착, 침지, 그 외의 화학, 전기적인 처리로 피막을 만들어 내식성, 내열성, 내마모성 및 내약품성 등을 주는 것을 말한다. 이러한 표면처리는 소재의 외측면을 피복하며, 습기나 염도에 강한 다양한 재질의 금속이 사용될 수 있다.
용융 영역(130)은 금속재로 형성되는 소재(150)의 외면이 표면 처리되는 경우, 소재(150)와 표면처리에 사용되는 금속이 접촉하는 경우, 소재와 표면처리에 사용되는 금속의 용융 반응에 의해서 형성되는 층을 나타낸다.
도 1에서는 금속 플레이트(100)의 일면을 나타내는 것으로 이에 제한 받지 아니하며, 금속 플레이트(100)는 양면이 대칭되는 구조로 마련될 수 있다.
도 2는 용접 첨가제가 주입되는 홈을 형성하기 위한 펀칭의 구조를 나타내는 도면이고, 도 3은 금속 플레이트와 펀치가 결합하여 홈이 형성되는 상태를 나타내는 도면이다.
도 2 및 도 3을 참조하면, 펀치(400)는 용접 첨가제(300)를 주입하기 위한 적어도 하나의 홈(200)을 형성할 수 있다. 펀치(400)에는 복수의 돌기(410)가 형성될 있으며, 복수의 돌기(410)는 일정간격으로 형성되어 금속 플레이트(100)에 형성되는 홈(200)을 일정간격으로 형성할 수 있다. 일실시예로, 돌기(410)는 원뿔형상으로 펀치(400)와 연결될 수 있다. 홈(200)이 복수로 형성되는 경우 홈(200)의 간격은 조밀하게 할수록 용접에 유리하다. 돌기(410)의 형상에는 제한이 없으며, 금속 플레이트(100)를 보다 쉽고 빠르게 가공할 수 있는 다양한 형상으로 변형될 수 있다.
펀치(400)는 가압을 통해 금속 플레이트(100)에 복수의 홈(200)을 형성할 수 있다. 펀치(400)를 가압하기 위한 방법에는 제한이 없으며, 유압이나 공압 등 다양한 방식이 사용될 수 있다.
펀치(400)를 통해 금속 플레이트(100)를 가압하여 홈(200)을 형성하는 경우, 펀치(400)에 의해 표면처리영역(110)이 깨지거나 압입되면서 소재(150)까지 홈(200)이 형성될 수 있다. 다시 말하면, 가압을 통해 금속 플레이트(100)에 복수의 홈(200)을 형성하는 경우, 펀치(400)의 돌기(410)는 표면처리영역(110)과 용융영역(130)을 관통하여 소재(150)까지 홈(200)을 형성할 수 있다. 다시 말하면, 금속 플레이트(100)에 형성되는 홈(200)의 깊이는 소재(150)의 영역까지 형성될 수 있다. 이와 같은 금속 플레이트(100)는 홈(200)을 미리 형성하고 용접 첨가제(300)를 주입하여 추후에 용접시 표면처리영역(110)의 금속이 용접부에 삽입되어 발생하는 문제점을 해결할 수 있다.
용접 첨가제(300)는 금속 플레이트(100)의 용접성을 향상시키기 위한 것으로, 미세한 분말형태로 가공된 금속을 이용할 수 있다. 이때, 용접 첨가제(300)는 금속 분말과 용접 시 금속 플레이트(100)의 융합이 잘 되도록 하는 첨가제를 혼합하여 사용한다. 첨가제는 용접강도 및 전류범위에 따라 다양하게 변형 실시될 수 있다.
도 4는 금속 플레이트에 용접 첨가제가 주입된 상태를 나타내는 도면이고, 도 5는 금속 플레이트에 용접 첨가제가 주입되는 방법의 일 실시 예를 나타내는 도면이다.
도 4 및 도 5를 참조하면, 금속 플레이트(100)에 용접 첨가제(300) 주입을 위한 복수의 홈(200)이 형성된 후, 용접 첨가제(300)가 주입된다.
용접 첨가제(300)는 가열로에서 표면처리영역(110)의 금속이 용융되면서 소재(150)에 진입하지 못하도록 한다.
용접 첨가제(300)는 다양한 방법으로 홈(200)에 주입될 수 있다. 용접 첨가제(300)는 별도의 공정을 거칠 수 있으며, 펀치(400)를 통하여 연속된 공정으로 홈(200)에 주입될 수 있다.
별도의 공정을 거치는 경우, 펀치(400)를 통해 홈(200)을 형성한 후 추가적으로 용접 첨가제(300)가 주입될 수 있다. 도 5에 나타나는 것과 같이 돌기(410)에 의해 형성되는 홈(200)에 용접 첨가제(300)를 개별적으로 용융시켜 주입할 수도 있으며, 액체가 사용되는 경우, 정해진 홈(200)의 크기에 맞추어 주입되도록 설정될 수도 있다.
또한, 펀치(400)를 통해 일련의 과정으로 용접 첨가제(300)를 주입할 수 있다. 이 경우, 펀치(400)의 돌기(410)에는 적어도 하나의 주입홀(미도시)이 형성될 수 있으며, 용접 첨가제(300)는 돌기(410)에 형성되는 주입홀(미도시)을 통해 홈(200)에 주입될 수 있다. 돌기(410)가 금속 플레이트(100)를 가압하여 홈(200)을 형성하고, 돌기(410)가 빠져나오면서 돌기(410)에 형성된 주입홀(미도시)을 통해 용접 첨가제(300)가 주입될 수 있다.
도 6은 용접 첨가제가 주입되는 홈의 배치를 나타내는 도면이다.
도 6을 참조하면, 용접 첨가제(300)는 금속 플레이트(100)가 일정한 틀 또는 모양을 갖춘 후에 주입될 수도 있다. 이 경우 용접 첨가제(300)가 주입되는 영역은 용접의 범위보다 넓게 형성될 수 있다.
일실시예로, 금속 플레이트(100)가 자동차에 사용되는 B-Pillar인 경우, 기본적으로 용접위치가 지정되어 있다. 이때, 용접부위에는 미리 복수의 홈(200)을 형성하고 용접 첨가제(300)를 주입하여 표면 처리된 금속 플레이트(100)의 용접 시 발생할 수 있는 문제를 사전에 방비할 수 있다.
또한, 복수로 형성되는 홈(200)이 형성하는 외각 라인(L1)은 용접의 범위(L2)보다 넓게 형성될 수 있다. 용접 첨가제(300)가 주입되는 홈(200)의 외각 라인(L1)이 용접의 범위(L2)와 동일한 경우, 용접 시 표면처리영역의 금속이 소재와 용융되어 문제점이 발생할 수 있다. 이를 방지하기 위해 복수의 홈(200)이 형성하는 외각 라인(L1)을 용접의 범위(L2)보다 넓게 형성하여, 용접라인이 홈(200)의 범위 내에서 형성되도록 할 수 있다.
도 7 및 도 8은 용접 첨가제가 주입되는 홈의 실시 예들을 나타내는 도면이고, 도 9는 용접 첨가제가 주입되는 홈이 양면에 형성되는 경우의 실시예를 나타내는 도면이다.
도 7 내지 도 9를 참조하면, 용접 첨가제(300)가 주입되는 홈(200)은 다양한 형상으로 변형 실시될 수 있다. 홈(200)은 하나의 구멍으로 넓게 형성될 수 있으며, 다각형의 구조 또는 곡면의 단면 형상을 가지도록 금속 플레이트(100)에 형성될 수 있다. 홈(200)의 형상은 펀치(400)의 형상에 따라 형성되므로, 펀치(400)의 형상의 변형으로 통해 다양한 홈(200)의 형상을 형성할 수 있다.
일 실시 예로, 펀치(400)는 금속 플레이트(100)를 용이하게 파고들도록 하기 위해 뾰족한 단부를 가지도록 마련될 수 있으며, 이때, 금속 플레이트(100)에 형성되는 홈(200)은 삼각형의 단면 형상을 가지도록 마련될 수 있다.
또한, 도 9를 참조하면, 용접 첨가제(300)가 주입되는 복수의 홈(200)은 금속 플레이트(100)의 상하 면에 형성될 수 있다. 금속 플레이트(100)의 양측 면이 용접되는 경우, 미리 용접영역에 용접 첨가제(300)를 주입하여 상기 문제점을 사전에 예방할 수 있다. 용접 첨가제(300)가 주입되는 복수의 홈(200)은 서로 마주보도록 형성될 수 있다.
일 실시예로, 홈(200)은 금속 플레이트(100)를 관통하여 형성될 수 있으며, 이 경우 홈(200)의 중앙의 일 영역에는 내측으로 돌출되는 돌출부(210)가 형성되어 용접 첨가제(300)의 유동을 예방할 수 있다.
한편, 이하에서는, 첨부된 도면을 참조하여 본 발명의 또 다른 실시예에 따른 용접 첨가제가 구비된 금속 플레이트를 이용하는 용접 방법을 설명하면 다음과 같다. 단, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 용접 첨가제가 구비된 금속 플레이트(1)에서 설명한 바와 동일한 것에 대해서는 그 설명을 생략하기로 한다.
도 10은 본 발명의 또 다른 실시예에 따른 용접 첨가재가 구비된 금속 플레이트)를 이용하는 용접 방법을 나타내는 도면이다. 도 10에 있어서, 도 1 내지 도 9와 동일한 참조부호는 동일한 부재를 나타내며 상세한 설명은 생략하기로 한다.
도 10을 참조하면, 용접 첨가재가 구비된 금속 플레이트(1)를 이용하는 용접 방법은 용접 첨가제(300)를 구비한 금속 플레이트(100)와 금속 플레이트(100)와 접촉하도록 마련되는 적어도 하나의 전극(500)을 포함하며, 전극(500)은 금속 플레이트(100)에 구비되는 용접 첨가제(300)의 위치에 접촉하여 점용접을 실시할 수 있다.
일실시예로, 도 10에는 금속 플레이트(100) 양측 면에 서로 마주보도록 용접 첨가제(300)가 위치하고 있으며, 이와 용접을 위한 금속소재(600)가 금속 플레이트(100)의 양측에 접촉하게 된다. 이후, 한 쌍의 전극(500)이 서로 마주보도록 금속소재 표면과 접촉하게 되며, 이때 한 쌍의 전극(500)은 용접 첨가제(300)가 구비되는 위치에서 접촉하게 된다. 이러한 전극(500)을 통해 전류를 흘려 점용접을 실시하게 된다.
도 11은 종래의 일반적인 금속 플레이트를 이용하여 용접하는 경우와 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 용접 첨가제(300)가 구비된 금속 플레이트(100)를 이용하여 용접하는 경우 전류범위에 따른 용접의 정도를 비교한 것이다.
도 11을 참조하여 전극(500)을 이용한 점용접을 실시하는 경우 전류가 이동하면서 버튼 경이 생성되는 시점을 비교한다. 버튼 경이란, 전류를 이용하여 금속 플레이트(100) 용접시 돌출부가 발생하는 시점, 다시 말하면 용접이 시작되는 시점을 의미한다. 버튼 경이 생성되기 시작한 하한 전류값의 버튼 강도를 비교해 보면, 기존조건에서는 5.6kN이었으나, 발명조건에서는 6.9kN으로 강도가 증가함을 확인할 수 있다.
또한, 점용접을 위한 전류 값을 비교하면, 기존조건에서는 적정 전류 값이 5.5kA이며, 그 이상의 전류에서는 스팩터가 발생하여 용접을 위한 전류 값으로 사용할 수 없었다. 따라서 실제로 용접 가능한 전류 조건은 5.5kA 한 조건이다. 이러한 조건에서는 실제 용접을 하기가 어려우며, 용접이 불가능한 것으로 평가될 수 있다.
그러나, 본 발명조건에서는 적정 전류 값이 6.3~7.3kA의 범위 내에서 용접이 가능함을 확인할 수 있으며, 현장에서 용접시 다양한 전류 범위 내에서 용접이 가능해진다.
이상으로 본 발명의 실시 예에 관하여 첨부된 도면을 참조하여 구체적으로 살펴보았다.
이상의 설명은 본 발명의 기술 사상을 예시적으로 설명한 것에 불과한 것으로서, 본 발명이 속하는 기술 분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자라면 본 발명의 본질적인 특성에서 벗어나지 않는 범위 내에서 다양한 수정, 변경 및 치환이 가능할 것이다. 따라서, 본 발명에 개시된 실시예 및 첨부된 도면들은 본 발명의 기술 사상을 한정하기 위한 것이 아니라 설명하기 위한 것이고, 이러한 실시예 및 첨부된 도면에 의하여 본 발명의 기술 사상의 범위가 한정되는 것은 아니다. 본 발명의 보호 범위는 아래의 청구범위에 의하여 해석되어야 하며, 그와 동등한 범위 내에 있는 모든 기술 사상은 본 발명의 권리범위에 포함되는 것으로 해석되어야 할 것이다.

Claims (10)

  1. 표면처리영역, 소재 및 상기 표면처리영역과 상기 소재 사이에 배치되는 용융영역으로 나눠지는 금속 플레이트에서, 상기 금속 플레이트에는 적어도 하나의 홈이 구비되고, 상기 홈의 깊이는 소재의 영역까지 형성되며, 상기 홈에는 용접 첨가제가 주입되는 용접 첨가제를 구비한 금속 플레이트.
  2. 제1 항에 있어서,
    상기 홈은 펀치의 가압에 의해서 형성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 용접 첨가제를 구비한 금속 플레이트.
  3. 제1 항에 있어서,
    상기 홈은 복수로 형성되며,
    복수의 상기 홈이 구성하는 외각 라인은 용접의 범위보다 넓게 형성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 용접 첨가제를 구비한 금속 플레이트.
  4. 제2 항에 있어서,
    상기 펀치는
    상기 돌기에 형성되는 적어도 하나의 주입홀을 이용하여 상기 홈에 용접 첨가제를 주입하는 것을 특징으로 하는 용접 첨가제를 구비한 금속 플레이트.
  5. 제1 항에 있어서,
    상기 홈은 복수로 마련되며,
    복수의 상기 홈은 상기 금속 플레이트의 상하면에 서로 마주보도록 배치되는 것을 특징으로 하는 용접 첨가제를 구비한 금속 플레이트.
  6. 제5 항에 있어서,
    마주보도록 형성되는 복수의 상기 홈은 상기 금속 플레이트를 관통하는 것을 특징으로 하는 용접 첨가제를 구비한 금속 플레이트.
  7. 제6 항에 있어서,
    상기 금속 플레이트를 관통하는 상기 홈의 중앙의 일 영역에는 상기 홈의 내주면에서 돌출되는 돌출부가 구비되는 것을 특징으로 하는 용접 첨가제를 구비한 금속 플레이트.
  8. 제1 항에 있어서,
    상기 용접 첨가제는 금속 분말에 첨가제가 혼합되는 것을 특징으로 하는 용접 첨가제를 구비한 금속 플레이트.
  9. 제1 항 내지 제8 항 중 어느 한 항의 용접 첨가제를 구비한 금속 플레이트; 및
    상기 금속 플레이트와 접촉하도록 마련되는 적어도 하나의 전극;
    을 포함하며,
    상기 전극은 상기 금속 플레이트에 구비되는 상기 용접 첨가제의 위치에 접촉하여 점용접을 실시하는 것을 특징으로 하는 용접 첨가재가 구비된 금속 플레이트를 이용하는 용접 방법.
  10. 제9 항에 있어서,
    상기 전극에 가해지는 전류는 6.3~7.3kA인 것을 특징으로 하는 용접 첨가재가 구비된 금속 플레이트를 이용하는 용접 방법.
