Selon l'invention, une surface interne d'un trou de forage souterrain ou d'un élément tubulaire de trou de forage est gainée par un manchon élastique (1), qui est mis en place par : - l'abaissement du manchon élastique (1) dans le trou de forage, le manchon étant relié de manière amovible à un dispositif d'étirement (4) agencé à l'intérieur du manchon (1) et étiré par le dispositif d'étirement (4) dans la direction longitudinale, ce qui réduit sa plus grande largeur externe de sorte qu'elle soit inférieure à la plus petite largeur de la surface interne entourant le manchon élastique (1) ; - la libération du manchon (1) par rapport au dispositif d'étirage (4), ce qui permet d'agrandir la largeur externe du manchon (1) et de déposer le manchon (1) contre la surface interne.
