The present invention relates to a cooking appliance, in particular to an oven.
Cooking appliances such as ovens are commonly known in the art. An oven generally comprises cavity for cooking food; a heating unit for heating the food inside the cavity; a door for opening/closing the cavity; a housing for enclosing the cavity; a ventilating unit for ventilating the housing and/or the door, wherein the ventilating unit comprises: a first duct for conducting the ambient air; and a first fan unit which has a first fan for moving the air in the first duct; and a vapor extracting unit for extracting the vapor inside the cavity and for discharging the extracted vapor to the outside, and a control unit for controlling the ventilating unit and the heating unit.
DE4211755A1 discloses an oven.
A problem with the prior art oven is that the vapor extraction unit cannot discharge the vapor quickly enough to the outside when a large amount of vapor is formed in the cavity, for instance, during the drying process of the food. In such instances, there is a risk that the excessive vapor condenses on the cold electrical components in the housing, and causes short circuits.
An objective of the present invention is to provide an oven which solves the aforementioned problems of the prior art in a cost-effective way and which enables an improved extraction of the vapor and also an improved production and assemblage of the vapor extracting unit.
This objective has been achieved by the oven as defined in claim 1. Further achievements have been attained by the subject-matters respectively defined in the dependent claims.
In the oven of the present invention, the vapor extracting unit comprises: a second duct which is separately provided from the first duct and which is adapted to conduct the vapor; and a second fan unit which has a second fan for moving the vapor in the second duct, wherein the control unit is further adapted to control the vapor extracting unit.
A major advantageous effect of the present invention is that even large amounts of vapor inside the cavity can be quickly and safely discharged to the outside by virtue of the second duct and the second fan of the vapor extracting unit. Another major advantageous effect of the present invention is that the risk of condensation and in particular the risk of short circuits can be eliminated or reduced as much as possible by virtue of the vapor extracting unit. Another major advantageous effect of the present invention is that the oven can be more reliably used during the drying of the food, the steam cooking or the microwave cooking. Thereby, the usability of the oven has been increased. Another major advantageous effect of the present invention is that the oven can be easily assembled with or retrofitted with the vapor extracting unit, and thus the production costs can be reduced both in terms of labor and material. Thereby the user satisfaction can be increased.
