Description

Filter Core Assembly for Filtering Liquid and Device for Filtering Water Comprising Such Filter Core Assembly Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a filter core assembly for filtering liquid and a device for filtering water comprising such filter core assembly.
Background of the Invention
A filter for filtering liquid is generally arranged in a liquid filtering device, particularly in a water filtering device. The filter can remove some pollutant components in liquid or water, such as particle, bacterium, macromolecular organic compounds, heavy metal ion and poisonous chemical component etc.
Water filtering device generally comprises a filter for filtering impurities which remove the heavy metal ion, bacterium, virus and other impurity in the original water, so as to purify the water and protect people from drinking unhealthy water.
In the prior art, a filter for filtering liquid is generally made as an integral element which can be directly arranged in a liquid filtering device and should be completely changed when the filter becoming dirty. However, since different materials in the filter have different service life, changing the whole filter causes the service life of the filter depends on the material which has the shortest service life, which results in an unnecessary waste and an increased the cost of a user.
In view of the effect of water on health, more and more people pay attention to the issue of safety of drinking water. Therefore, applying a  filter for filtering water into a household container or a portable container can guarantee the safety of drinking water. For example, document CN201454183 recites a filter for takeout and being able to filter impurities effectively, and a container with such a filter. This filter cartridge can be arranged inside of the container. A user should suck the suction nozzle on the cover to drink water, and the water reaches into user’s mouth via the filter. However, the process of filtering is a long period with a low efficiency. The user has to wait for a long time to get a little filtered water. In addition, the user should pay a lot of effort to suck water, which is very inconvenient. Furthermore, the filtering portion in the filter is preset, which cannot be regulated to meet different requirement from users, and results a bad use experience.
An improving method is to increase the efficiency of filtering by pressurization. Document CN202069123 provides a portable water cup comprising a filter assembly composed by a ceramic filter and an active-carbon filter in form of bulk with fine particle. This portable water cup further comprises a pressurization device to press the water into the filter assembly to finish filtering. This filter assembly is separately assembled, the ceramic filter can be taken out to wash, but the connecting between the ceramic filter and active-carbon filter is easy to be broken when removed by a user. However, the ceramic filter is very expensive and the broken will cause a large cost.
In addition, there are other patents using pressurization device to increase filtering efficiency and using multiple-stage filter assembly to increase the filtering quality, for example, document WO2008053395 provides a universal water purifier unit assembly device comprising a pressurization device which increase filtering efficiency, and a multiple-stage filter. However, several seal rings should be arranged to connect several linking parts of the filter assembly, and a check valve  should be arranged to prevent water returning. Therefore, it has a complex contracture and increases the cost.
Furthermore, the abovementioned filter provided should be directly connected to the container. The filter should be removed from and container and the water to be filtered should be poured into the container, then the filter should be mounted again, whiling filtering some new water. Mounting and removing frequently would cause the damage of the link parts between the filter and the container; therefore, there is a risk that the filter is unable to be continued to use once partial damage occurs.
Description of the Invention
It shall be noted that the object of the present invention is to overcome the disadvantages of the background art, for example, a low efficiency of the filter core, a light damage of the filter may cause the whole filter no longer to be used, and the assembly of the filter needs several redundant parts etc.
For these purposes, the present invention proposes a filter core assembly for filtering liquid comprising:
-an upper filter adapted to purify liquid passing through it;
-a lower filter arranged below the upper filter, adapted to further filter the liquid going down from the upper filter, and

Furthermore, the upper filter comprises a top end assembled with a removable cap through which the first filtering portion can be added into the inner space of the upper filter. In this case, different materials can be added into the upper filter and may be replaced by new filtering materials after losing efficacy.
Furthermore, the lower filter comprises a hollow body for depositing a second filtering portion which is adapted to be repeatedly changed, for the benefit of cyclic utilization.
Furthermore, the lower filter comprises an un-removable cap arranged at the bottom end of the lower filter for supporting the second filtering portion deposited in the hollow body of the lower filter. In this case, it is possible to prevent the second filtering portion flowing away.
Furthermore, the lower filter further comprises a carbon fiber patch adapted to be inserted into the hollow body of the lower filter to cover the  second filtering portion deposited in the lower filter. In this case, it is possible to prevent the filtering portion in the lower filter flowing back to the connector and causing a contamination.
Furthermore, said second filtering portion includes multiple different components for filtering liquid, so that multiple types of impurities may be filtered.
Furthermore, the length of the connector is designed to be easily held by user’s fingers to be benefit of the assembling and unassembling of the upper filter and the lower filter.
Furthermore, the filter core assembly further comprises a bottom cap filling with a third filtering portion, said bottom cap connecting to the lower filter and adapted to further filter the liquid flowing down from said lower filter and may adjust the taste of the liquid.
The present invention on the other hand comprises a water purifier comprising:
-a filter core assembly according to any one of above described filter core assembly,
-a first container for containing the liquid to be filtered, the walls of said first container comprising at least two openings, respectively, an inlet opening (s) and a discharge opening,
-a pressurizing device capable of injecting air into said first container through said inlet opening (s) ,
-a confinement chamber at least being a part of said first container, the walls of said containment chamber comprising at least three distinct openings: a filling opening adapted to allow water flow between said first container and said containment and located in the lower portion of said confinement chamber, a venting opening located in the upper part of said confinement chamber, and a filter opening adapted to substitute for said discharge opening, and

Preferred Embodiment
It should be understood that the appended drawings are not necessarily to scale, presenting a somewhat simplified representation of various preferred features illustrative of the basic principles of the invention. The specific design features of the present invention as disclosed herein, including, for example, specific dimensions, orientations, locations, and shapes will be determined in part by the particular intended application and use environment.
A detailed specification will be described based on the embodiments and figures. In the figures, reference numbers refer to the same or equivalent parts of the present invention throughout the several figures of the drawing.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a filter core assembly according to the present invention; the filter core assembly comprises an upper filter 1, a lower filter 3, and a connector 2 connecting the upper filter 1 to the lower filter 3 and in fluid communication therebetween. The upper filter 1 is  connected to the connector 2 in fluid tight manner by insertion into the connector 2, and the connector 2 is connected to the lower filter 3 in fluid tight manner by insertion into the lower filter 3. Alternatively, the connector 2 is connected to the lower filter 3 in threaded connection, so as to guarantee the strength and compactability of the connection between the connector 2 and the lower filter 3.
Refer to Fig. 2, the upper filter 1 comprises a upper filter bottom end 11 having a discharge hole (not shown) , a upper filter body 13 extending upwardly from the upper filter bottom end 11, wherein the upper filter body 13 is a ceramic filter for filtering noxious substance such as microorganism, bacterium, impurities etc. such ceramic filter has a ceramic outside surface having tiny pores of average pore size about 0.1 μm. The upper filter bottom end 11 is adapted to be inserted into the connector 2 in a fluid tight manner, for example, the upper filter bottom end 11 is glued to the connector 2,
The inner side of the ceramic outside surface of the upper filter body 13 is a hollow inner space in which a first filtering portion may be deposited for further filtering unfiltered liquid, particularly water, permeated into the ceramic outside surface of the upper filter body. The first filtering portion may be one or more filtering layer, such as a medical stone filtering layer, alkali ball filtering layer, calcium sulfite filtering layer, tourmaline filtering layer, or coconut shell activated carbon filtering layer etc.
A support net (not shown) may be provided in the inner space of the upper filter to support the first filtering portion, to prevent the first filtering portion flowing downstream to the connector 2 and the lower filter 3.
In a variant, the upper filter 1 further comprises a removable cap 15 removably covering over the upper filter top end 17 having an opening, so that new first filtering portion may be provided to replace the original  first filtering portion after losing efficacy. Thus the upper filter body 13 may be used in recycle and be benefit to environmental protection. Particularly, the removable cap 15 may be designed as an a semi-circle cap to be opened by rotated with relative to the upper filter top end 17, or the removable cap 15 may be fixed on the upper filter top end 17 by insertion and adapted to be opened by pulling out of the upper filter top end 17.
Generally, the service life of a ceramic filter is around 2000 liter and then needed to be washed or changed. However, the service life of the first filtering portion deposited in the inner space of the ceramic outside surface is around 50 to 100 liter and needed to be washed or changed. Thus, a removable cap 15 is provided on the top end of the upper filter body 13 for ease of replacing the first filtering portion and adjusting the first filtering portion with difference materials according to different usage environment. In this way, the ceramic filter may be used more economically and adequately. Once the first filtering portion of the inner space of the upper filter body 13 is needed to be changed, one may remove the removable cap 15 and pour out the first filtering portion losing efficacy and pour fresh first filtering portion into there.
In a variant, the upper filter bottom end 11 may be provided with an upper filter base and connected to the connector via the upper filter base. One end of the upper filter base is an insertion part adapted to be inserted into the connector, said insertion part is in the form of a cylinder, the other end of the upper filter base is a flange part connected with the ceramic outside surface for example by gluing, the flange part radially extending towards the outside of the insertion part to form a shoulder. When the insertion part of the upper filter base is inserted into the connector 2, the shoulder formed by the flange part of the upper filter base blocks the connector 2 and achieves the function of sealing.  Preferably, the external diameter of the flange part of the upper filter base is coupled with the inner diameter of the connector in transitional fit, so that the upper filter base is connected to the connected in a fluid tight manner. The discharge hole runs through the insertion part from the base.
Fig. 3 shows a lower filter 3 according to the present invention, lower filter 3 is arranged in the downstream of the upper filter 1, comprising a lower filter bottom end 31 having a discharge hole, a lower filter body 33 extending upwardly from the lower filter bottom end 31, the lower filter body 33 has a plastic outside surface, particularly a transparent plastic outside surface providing an advantage which will be described in detail below.
The inner side of the plastic outside surface of the lower filter body 33 is a hollow body, said hollow body may be provided with a second filtering portion for further filtering the liquid, particularly water, filtered by the upper filter 1 and flowing down from the upper filter 1. The second filtering portion is visible through the transparent plastic outside surface of the lower filter. Similar to the first filtering portion of the upper filter 1, the second filtering portion of the lower filter 3 may also be one or more filtering layer, such as a medical stone filtering layer, alkali ball filtering layer, calcium sulfite filtering layer, tourmaline filtering layer, or coconut shell activated carbon filtering layer etc., and it is adjustable according to customers requirement and actual situation.
The lower filter bottom end 31 is provided with an un-removable cap 39 covering above the discharge hole, for supporting the second filtering portion within the hollow space of the lower filter, so as to prevent the second filtering portion flowing away with the filtered liquid. It shall be clear that, the lower filter bottom end 31 is adapted to be fixed in a device for filtering liquid, particularly a device for filtering water, such as the  device for filtering liquid as disclosed in document FR1450634.
When the second filtering portion is needed to be changed, one may put the lower filter bottom end of the lower filter towards a clean water source, and let the water pressure wash away the second filtering portion away from the hollow body of the lower filter body, so that a new second filtering portion could be changed.
In addition, due the liquid flowing into the lower filter has been filtered by the upper filter, the lower filter could be other type of filter, particularly some component which may change its color to indicate its service life. Of course, the second filtering portion may also be formed by several different components for filtering liquid, so that different kinds of impurities could be filtered.
carbon fiber patch 37 is provided within the hollow body of the plastic outside surface of the lower filter to covering above the second filtering portion, said carbon fiber patch 37 has micropores smaller than the second filtering portion in size, so as to prevent the second filtering portion flowing back into the connector, it shall be understood that, the carbon fiber patch 37 shall be taken out before changing the second filtering portion,
In an alternative embodiment, the hollow body of the lower filter 3 is provided with thread lines on the inner side near the top, for connecting with the connector.
Optionally, in the inner side of the transparent plastic outside surface of the lower filter 3, an observation line 36 is provided at a distance from the carbon fiber patch, this observation line 36 may be a embossing or mark line etc., when the connector 2 is connected to the lower filter 3, the connector 2 is at a distance from the observation line 36 about 2 to 10 millimeters, perfectly 5 millimeters, so that one may observe whether liquid flows down from the connector 2, and in this way,  the user may know well about the filtering state of the filter core assembly, and decide whether or not to pressurize the device for filtering water assembled with such filter core assembly.
Refer to Fig. 4, it shows a perspective view of a connector 2 of a filter core assembly of an embodiment according to the present invention. The connector 2 comprises a first end 21 into which the upper filter bottom end is able to be inserted, and a second end 23 to be inserted into the lower filter 3, the second end 23 of the connector 2 comprises at least one rubber ring, maybe two or three rubber rings uniformly distributed on the second end 23 of the connector. Alternatively, the second end 23 of the connector 2 further comprises thread lines rather than rubber rings, said thread lines being complementary with the thread lines of the hollow body of the lower filter 3.
Between the first and second ends 21, 23 of the connector 2 is a hollow space, component for filtering liquid is deposited in said hollow space. A filtering portion different from those of the upper filter and the lower filter may be deposited in the hollow space of the connector 2, particularly a long-acting filtering component for removing microorganism, un-removably fixed in said hollow space, to enhance the filtering performance.
In particular, the first and second ends 21, 23 of the connector 2 are hollow cylinders, wherein the first end 21 having a cross section with a larger dimension than that of the second end 23, and the first and second ends 21, 23 of the connector 2 respectively comprise a first cavity 24 for receiving the upper filter 1 and a second cavity (not shown) permitting a flow of liquid when inserted in the lower filter 3, and the inner diameter of the first cavity 24 is connected with the external diameter of the upper filter bottom end 11. The external diameter of the second end could be inserted into the hollow body of the lower filter 3, and the top of the lower  filter 3 is stopped by the first end 21 of the connector 2 when the second end 23 of the connector 2 completely inserted into the hollow body of the lower filter 3 to achieve a sealing function.
The first cavity 24 and the second cavity of the connector 2 are communicated with one another, and a filter net (not shown) is provided at intersection between the first cavity 24 and the second cavity. The filter net extends through the whole second cavity to prevent the long-acting filtering component flowing away.
When the filtering portion of the upper filter 1 is needed to be changed, screwing connector 2 connecting with the upper filter 1 out of the lower filter 3, then taking the upper filter 1 out of connector 2, it has an advantage of preventing the upper filter 1 directly connected to the lower filter 3 by thread connection and avoid any one of the two getting damage during the screwing process. It should be understood that when the user screws the connector 2 out from the lower filter 3 with a hand, his fingers shall hold on the first end of the hollow cylinder, therefore, the height of the hollow cylinder of the first end is at least adapted to be held by fingers for example from 1 cm to 5 cm, particularly from 3 cm to 4 cm, and the height of the hollow cylinder at the first end 21 of the connector 2 is housed by the upper filter 1.
According to the embodiment as shown in Fig. 5 and Fig. 6, in the hollow body of the plastic outside surface of the lower filter, it further comprises a closure cap 40 adpressing onto the carbon fiber patch 37 covering above the second filtering portion. Notches are provided on the periphery of the carbon fiber patch 37 and are flexible and capable of changing the overall dimension of the closure cap 40 by the deformation of the notches 41 to cling to the hollow body of the lower filter 3. The closure cap 40 has a surface having openings 42 permitting liquid flow through and a threaded part 43 into which a droplet tool may be inserted  and coupled with the threaded part 43 by screwing, said droplet tool has a threaded end complementary with the threaded part of the closure cap 40. The closure cap 40 could be easily put into the hollow body of the lower filter 3 or taken out from the hollow body of the lower filter 3 by such connection between the threaded end of the droplet tool and the threaded part 43 of the connector 2.
Fig. 7 shows an improvement of the lower filter 3 formed with several filtering units 38 adapted to be connected one to one, each filtering unit 38 is provided with a filtering portion and a filter net below the filtering portion and supporting the latter. The top and the bottom of each filtering unit is provided with an opening, respectively a liquid input end and a liquid output end, so that filtered water may flow into the next filtering unit from the openings. Such improved lower filter has an advantage of allowing the user to customize the filtering portion by their own requirements.
According to the embodiment as shown in Fig. 8, the lower filter 3 is provided with a bottom cap 4 which may be in a storage container form, said bottom cap 4 directly connecting to the discharge hole on the bottom end of the lower filter 3 and comprises an opening and closing part and escape orifices 51 on the periphery of the storage container. A third filtering portion or other component such as medicine, tea leaf or flavouring agent, may be added into the bottom cap by opening and closing the opening and closing part, particularly it can achieve a function of adjusting the taste of the liquid when flavouring agent is added.
As shown in Fig. 9, on the other hand, the present invention further comprise a water purifier comprising a filter core assembly of any one of the above described filter core assemblies:
-a filter core assembly according to any one of the above described  filter core assemblies,
-a first container 50 for containing the liquid to be filtered, the walls of said first container comprising at least two openings, respectively, an inlet opening (s) α1 and a discharge openingα2,
-a pressurizing device 20 capable of injecting air into said first container 50 through said inlet opening (s) α1,
-a confinement chamber 40 at least being a part of said first container 50, the walls of said containment chamber comprising at least three distinct openings: a filling opening β3 adapted to allow water flow between said first container 50 and said containment 40 and located in the lower portion of said confinement chamber 40, a venting opening β1 located in the upper part of said confinement chamber 40, and a filter opening β2 adapted to substitute for said discharge opening, and
-a purge device 60, at least a part of air contained in said enclosure, adapted to regulate the blockage of said venting opening β1.
The pressurizing device 20 is positioned outside the first container 50, therefore, it is possible to limit impurities entering into the first container or into the pressurizing device, so that a risk related with contamination is limited.
The confinement chamber 40 is fixed at the bottom of the pressurizing device 20. The confinement chamber 40 is an axial rotation sold body fixed around the axis line X.
