Abstract
A device for feeding sauna steam water, consisting of a substantially vertically positioned feed pipe (7), through which steam water can be conducted to the sauna stove stones (10). The height of the feed pipe (7) is approximately half of the height of the heap of sauna stove stones, extending consequently from the top substantially to the centre of the heap of sauna stove stones (10).
Description
Device for feeding sauna steam water
This invention relates to a device for feeding sauna steam water, which consists of a substantially vertically positioned feed pipe, through which sauna steam water can be conducted to the stove stones.
Methods and systems known per se for producing sauna steam water without using a steam water scoop comprise various automated spraying systems provided with solenoid valves, thermostats, etc. These arrangements are complex and consequently costly. Presumably, the most straightforward means for feeding sauna steam water that is to install a shower directly above the sauna stove stones with the shower water tap within easy reach for the person throwing water on the stones.
In addition, there are various sauna steam water stones and also various cups intended to be placed on the sauna stove stones and to be filled with water, in which the water evaporises in the same manner as on the stove stones. Sauna stove stones comprising cavities and cups do not have the same purpose as the invention described in this application.
The device for feeding sauna steam water in accordance with the invention is characterised by the height of the feed pipe being approximately half of the height of the heap of stove stones, thus extending from the top substantially to the centre of the heap of stove stones.
A preferred embodiment of the invention is characterised by the feed pipe comprising at its bottom a substantially horizontally positioned branch pipe, which is equipped with dosing orifices for sauna steam wa- ter.
A second embodiment of the invention is characterised by the branch pipe comprising one or more water distribution flanges, which distribute water uniformly both in the transverse direction and the longitudinal direction within the feeding device. A third embodiment of the invention is characterised by the feed pipe comprising at its top a funnel, into which steam water can be poured/fed from a water tank through a hose.
One embodiment of the invention is further characterised by the hose from the water tank being equipped with a manually adjustable dosage valve.
The device for feeding sauna steam water in accordance with the inven- tion brings about gentle and intense steam water in any sauna stove, both in electrically and wood-heated models. The device is very easy and rapid to install and it does not interfere with the "normal" use of the sauna stove, i.e. throwing water onto the heap of stove stones by means of a scoop. The basic idea is to provide an affordable sauna stove generating intense water steam for any home. This device is easy to install, produces gentle water steam, is inexpensive, long-lasting and does not interfere with the normal use of the sauna stove. It is well suited for children and persons with sensitive skin.
The invention is explained below with the aid of an example and with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which
Figure 1 illustrates a device for feeding sauna steam water installed in a sauna stove,
Figure 2 illustrates a feeding device of a second embodiment in enlargement and in section and Figure 3 illustrates two water distribution flanges 6a, 6b provided in the branch pipe.
The device for feeding sauna steam water consists of a substantially vertically positioned feed pipe 7, through which steam water can be conducted to the sauna stove stones 10. The feed pipe 7 extends from the top substantially to the centre of the heap of sauna stove stones 10. At the bottom of the feed pipe 7, a substantially horizontally positioned branch pipe 8 is provided, which is equipped with dosage orifices 5 for steam water. In figure 2, the ends of the branch pipe 8 are directed curvedly downwards. The branch pipe 8 comprises a water distribution flange 6/ 6a, 6b, which distribute water evenly both in the transverse and in the longitudinal direction within the feeding device. At the top of the feed pipe 7, a funnel 4 is provided, into which steam water can be either poured by means of a steam water scoop or fed through a hose 3 from a
water tank 9. The hose 3 coming from the water tank 9 is equipped with a manually adjustable dosage valve 2.
