Description

ERGONOMIC SEAL WITH INTUITIVE DETACHMENT EMPHASIZED
VISUALLY AND TACTILE
The invention relates to an ergonomic seal with intuitive detachment emphasized visually and tactile for revealing the opening of a package, the seal having a sandwich structure and being provided with at least one non-adhesive, visually and tactile evidenced area for easy identification and grasping, even by people who, outside of a professional environment, come for the first time into contact with the need for opening a seal, or by people affected by certain locomotion or visual disabilities, the solution being usable in various industries, including pharmaceutical industry.
There are known seals for evidencing the opening of packages such as US20150001223 regarding a seal comprising a front-material and a base- material having a pressure-sensitive adhesive between them, and the front- material has a portion cut out in its lower side, which joins with a grip section having some adjacent fins. JP2014194448 describes a hidden seal, which becomes evident only after the removal of a superficial layer provided with at least two areas delimited by a line with perforations.
A disadvantage of the known solutions is the difficulty of identifying the optimal method of opening the seal by persons who, outside of a professional environment, come for the first time into contact with the necessity of opening a seal or persons with certain locomotion or visual disabilities, who fail to identify and grasp the edge of the seal. Another drawback of the prior art solutions is that they require perfect alignment of the end of the opening in the transfer material with the opening at the edge of the package, which creates difficulties, especially regarding manual application. Another disadvantage is that the seals are unsafe because after the detachment of one end, the seal can be reapplied, and the stripping becomes difficult to notice after it is accidentally or deliberately snapped, since the tear has the form of a thin line, without obviously revealing the opening of the seal. »^ The object of invention is the securing of packaging, noticeable by tactile and visual identification of the seal's integrity, ensuring that the opening of respective packaging is as simple and efficient as possible.
The technical problem solved by invention consists in making, by roll-to- roll whether by roll-to-sheet material processing technologies, of a self-adhesive seal, customizable according to the appearance of the packaging on which it is applied manually or automatically, which is easy to open even by people who, outside of a professional environment, come for the first time into contact with the need to open a seal, or by people affected by certain visual or locomotion disabilities.
Ergonomic seal with intuitive detaching emphasized visual and tactile according to invention has a sandwich structure comprising at least a base material 1 consisting of one or more layers and at least one adhesive 2 which adheres to a substrate 3 represented by a product's packaging. At least one of the sides of the seal has a non-adhesive grip zone 4, having at least one visual marking 5 and at least one tactile marking 6 comprising indications of how to open and direction of opening of the seal. The tactile marking 6 is made either by high-printing or embossing, or by providing an increased thickness of 20...300 microns of the non-adhesive area relative to the thickness of the seal. The gripping zone 4 is provided with at least one corrugated edge, easily noticeable by the user both visually and by touch, as compared to the rest of seal's circumference. The design of the seal allows for the customization by means of printing on at least one of the layers of the base material 1 , of some graphic elements 7 printable by analog or digital processes, and / or of some security printing elements and / or of optically variable elements and / or "VOID"-type indications 8; graphic elements 7 will be printed on the visible side of the seal and / or one or more layers hidden in the view so that the information becomes visible only after the seal has been opened. The seal construction allows insertion in the base material 1 of devices to be identified by non-contact reading technologies (RFID, NFC, etc.). The opening of the seal is evidenced either by a known per se "VOID" indication 8 or by the irreversible destruction of the base material 1 from which the seal is made of, and / or of the material from which the substrate 3 on which the seal has been applied to, by using a specially formulated adhesive 2 for the selected sealing variant, of those listed. A "VOID" seal will have the adhesive 2 and the base material 1 formed so that a "VOID" type indication 8 is activated at the opening. A seal which self-destructs and / or destroys the substrate 3 to which it has been applied to, will have an adhesive selected so that the adhesion force of the adhesive 2 is greater than the internal cohesion force of the base material 1 of the seal's body and / or that of the substrate 3, and the seal body and / or the substrate 3 represented by the packaging on which the seal has been applied to, will be irreversibly destroyed in a fashion which can be verified visually and / or tactile, by the user. Another sealing variant consists in using a re-applicable adhesive 2 for reseating a package by re-bonding the seal to a substrate 3 using the grip zone 4, thus avoiding the contamination of the adhesive 2 by contact with the fingers. In a diametrically opposed part of at least one of the grip zones 4, the seal is provided with an end 9 secured to the substrate 3 with an adhesive 10 at least as strong as the adhesive 2, capable of preventing an inexperienced or maliciously user or to unfold the seal starting from this side, without emphasizing the release of the seal. The end 9 of the seal is delimited by the rest of the surface of the base material 1 by some perforations 11 that pierce all the layers of the base material 1 , the perforations 11 being arranged linearly, curled or as a zigzag for visually and tactile evidencing the opening of the seal, when the unbonded part of the seal is detached from the substrate 3 to the perforation limit 11. Optionally, the seal is provided with some security cuts 12 that pierce at least one of the layers of the base material 1 in the region of end 9 of the seal and / or the in the zone where the seal is bended over the edge of the packaging that represents substrate 3. boss The edge of the packaging which represents the substrate 3.
Ergonomic seal with intuitive detaching emphasized visual and tactile according to invention, presents the following advantages:
- it is easy to use, intuitively, including by persons affected by certain disabilities; - is reliable due to constructive simplicity;
- facilitates the observation of the integrity of the packaging;
- can be applied manually or automatically, on any side of the packaging;
- can be manufactured and efficiency delivered by roller-to-roll whether roller-to- sheet transfer;
- it is very versatile, it can be made in different shapes and colors, depending on the requirements, and the shape of the seal can be circle, square, rectangle, triangle etc., while the changing shape and size is not affecting the functionality of the seal;
- can be personalized by printing on the entire surface, as informational support, including information intended for users who are in contact with the product packaging without opening it (e.g. distributors, product inspectors, etc.), which can be combined with hidden information (such as codes for participating in certain promotions), effectively disseminating information intended only to users who have opened the seal, after they have already purchased the secured product;
- allows separate or simultaneous display of packaging opening and / or destruction of the label;
- in the sealing version with the possibility of re-sealing, the contamination of the adhesive is avoided ensuring the reapplying of the seal in optimal conditions, but also ensuring the first opening of the seal;
- the invention can be applied in a wide variety of industries, including the pharmaceutical industry or the food industry, by using compliant materials and is also suitable for sterile production environments.
