Abstract

A cabinet x-ray system for imaging a specimen, the cabinet x-ray system comprising an enclosable chamber having a specimen supporting surface and an x-ray source adaptable to concurrently emit x-rays and move along a path to an imaging position. A further cabinet x-ray system for imaging a specimen, the cabinet x-ray system comprising an enclosable chamber having a specimen supporting surface, an x-ray source; and an x-ray detector comprising an electronic imager having a global shutter. A control system operable to control the cabinet x- ray systems. A method for imaging a specimen in a cabinet x-ray system comprising an enclosable chamber having a specimen supporting surface; and an x-ray source, the method comprising: controlling the x-ray source to concurrently emit x-rays and move along a path to an imaging position.
