Abstract

Devices and methods of providing NFV life cycle management are generally described. An apparatus for an element manager (EM) can include memory and processing circuitry to provide, to a virtual network function (VNF) manager (VNFM), a request to create a VNF identifier, the request including a VNF descriptor identifier; receive a response to the request, the response including an instance identifier to indicate creation of an instance of a VNF information element; provide a request to instantiate the VNF subsequent to receiving the response, the request to instantiate the VNF including the instance identifier; and receive a response to the request to instantiate the VNF subsequent to providing the request, the response including a lifecycle operation occurrence identifier of the VNF. Other devices and methods are also disclosed.
