Abstract
The invention relates to activated carbon material for the storage, distribution, and transport of natural gas or methane. The technical result of the claimed invention consists in increasing the amount of natural gas stored by the material per unit volume of the storage system, increasing the bulk density of the adsorptive material, and increasing the packing density of the adsorptive material in specialized portable adsorbers, thereby enabling the storage system to be filled to 95% or more of its volume while maintaining diffusion properties. The technical result of the claimed invention is achieved by creating block nanoporous carbon material that has a number of technological properties: a high bulk density, greater than 600 kg/m3; a special block shape in the form of a cube, rectangular prism, cylinder, three-dimensional sector, or tetrahedron; an optimum combination of mean effective pore width in the material and nanopore volume, which enables a large amount of gas to be stored by the material and allows maximally dense packing of the material in specialized portable adsorbers.
