Abstract

The invention relates to a bearing for a drive pinion (6), which comprises a casing (2) and two single-row tapered roller bearings (1) joined together by the inner bearing races (4, 5) thereof by means of a ring (3), the ring (3) being positioned between the ends of the inner races (4, 5) and the peripheral surface of the shaft of the drive pinion (6). This arrangement of the joining ring (3) makes it simpler to operate and check the assembly of the unit and facilitates occasional dismantling, since the arrangement prevents the ring from breaking when the shaft the drive pinion (6) is removed.

The present invention falls within the field of the art concerning bearings and more specifically to tapered roller bearings coupling on differential axes.
The object of the invention is to develop a bearing, which incorporates a joint ring in the inner part of the inner rings of the bearing, to allow assembly / disassembly thereof in a single operation eliminating possible interference with the axis of the attack pinion.
Antecedentes de la invención BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
At present this type of bearings mounted on the attack pinion, have a ring that joins the inner rings on the outside of them; this ring can easily break during the extraction operation, leaving the end of the ring nailed to the axis of the attack pinion, making extraction difficult.
The rupture of the ring that joins the inner rings is propitious because the union is made by the outside of the rings; this implies that, in order to be able to perform said union, the thickness of the ring must be very small, generating a considerable clearance, and the tips of the ends of the inner rings remaining registered directly with the axis of the attack pinion. In this way, it is very difficult to extract them in a single operation.
In this type of bearings, it is necessary to use a press to assemble the ring, making it very difficult to verify its correct assembly.
Descripción de la invención Description of the invention
The machining practiced on the ends of the inner right ring and the left inner ring, consists of a rectangular groove, with the edges finished in radius, said groove being positioned very close to said end, practicing a recess in the tip of said ends, foreseen , for the coupling of the ring, being positioned between the rectangular grooves and the diameter of the axis of the attack pinion.
The assembly of the ring made by the inner part of the rings, offers greater resistance to breakage, giving the whole great resistance to extraction.
The assembly of the ring, when made by the inner part of the rings, allows a manual assembly without the use of a press, being possible to verify its correct assembly.
