Description
DEVICE FOR COOLING AND/OR FREEZING AND SANITIZING GLASSES, JUGS AND CROCKERY IN GENERAL
DESCRIPTION
The present patent concerns cooling and sanitizing devices in general, and in particular it concerns a new device for cooling and/or freezing and sanitizing glasses, jugs and crockery in general, which is provided with a containment and cooling casing.
Devices are known, which are suited to cool or freeze glasses or liquid containers made of glass or plastic and other materials in general, wherein said devices emit a low temperature gas conveying it onto the surface of glasses or containers, not only cooling, but also sanitizing them in just a few seconds.
The gas commonly used for this purpose is carbon dioxide, which guarantees the total absence of smells and flavours and which furthermore does not leave liquid residues inside the containers that have been subjected to the treatment, as the entire process is a dry process.
Consequently, the liquid and/or substance that will be successively poured into the cooled and sanitized glass will neither be modified in any way as far as its organoleptic characteristics such as smell and taste are concerned, nor watered down.
Furthermore, cold sanitization eliminates from the treated containers any washing residues that may negatively affect the taste and smell of the beverages poured into the containers themselves.
Patent ES 1078147 U concerns an improved apparatus for cooling and freezing crockery comprising a plug for connecting it to the electric power supply network, a cylinder containing pressurized gas, a sealed box housing a solenoid valve and a copper pipe connected to the cylinder. Two ducts branch off the box and are joined together in a corrugated pipe, the latter being connected to the body of the cooling/freezing device. The body of the cooling/freezing device is in turn
provided with a nozzle inside which a diffuser filter is installed.
The body of the cooling/freezing device is genetically parallelepiped in shape or can have a fancy shape, for example the shape of a pyramid or of an overturned pyramid, and has the function of containing the components that are necessary for the correct emission of gas.
Said device has therefore precise overall dimensions determined by the cylinder, which however can be positioned, for example, under a bar counter, by the ducts and by said body of the cooling/freezing device, which instead must be positioned on the counter or in another position where it can be comfortably used by the operator. Said body of the cooling/freezing device, therefore, ends up with occupying further space in the operator's working area and this space cannot be used for other important purposes.
The subject of the present patent is a new device for cooling and/or freezing and sanitizing glasses, jugs and crockery in general, which is provided with a containment and cooling casing.
The main object of the present invention is to provide a cooling and sanitizing device which integrates also with a casing suited to contain and freeze bottles or other objects, thus making it possible to optimize the space occupied by said device.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a cooling and sanitizing device which makes it possible to use the emitted gas not only to cool/freeze and sanitize glasses or crockery in general, but also to contribute to cooling or maintaining the temperature of the bottles or any other object which may be contained in said casing.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a cooling and sanitizing device with maximized efficiency.
An advantage offered by the present invention lies in that it is possible to use the cooling/sanitizing device with or without the containment casing, which in turn
can be used as a normal casing for bottles or as an ice bag or an ice bucket.
These and other direct and complementary objects are achieved by the new cooling and sanitizing device for glasses, jugs and crockery in general, comprising at least one base provided with means for connection to one or more electric power supply sources, for example the electric network and/or one or more batteries, and to pressurized gas feeders, in particular C02 feeders, at least one nozzle mounted on said base and suited to deliver said gas, at least one casing in turn comprising at least one bottom and side walls and suited to contain bottles or other objects, and wherein said casing is constrained to said base and/or to said at least one nozzle in a removable or non-removable manner.
In particular, said nozzle is preferably at least partially positioned inside said casing.
Said nozzle, for example, is introduced in said casing through an opening made in the casing itself.
In particular, said nozzle has an elongated body that projects from said base, wherein said bottom of said casing is correspondingly holed in such a way as to allow said nozzle to be introduced therein.
Preferably, the height of said nozzle is substantially equal to the height of the sides of the casing, but it can also be higher or shorter than them, so that the nozzle can project from the casing or even be recessed into it.
The operator who uses the new device places the glass or jug or cup or the item of crockery in general that needs to be cooled and sanitized above the nozzle, usually with its mouth facing downwards, in such a way that the gas emitted by the nozzle flows into the glass or in any case reaches the part or surface that is intended to come into contact with the food product.
If the glass or item of crockery to be cooled/sanitized is directed conveniently, the emitted gas reaches the surface of the item of crockery and due to the emission pressure follows a path that is tangential to the surface itself and then flows
downwards again, meaning towards the inside of the casing itself, thus reaching also the surface of any bottles or other objects that may be contained in said casing.
Said casing can be conveniently used as an ice bag or an ice bucket for bottles and other objects, with the function of cooling or maintaining the temperature of the bottles housed inside it, and wherein the gas emitted by the nozzle is recirculated towards the inside of the casing and thus further contributes to cooling the bottles and any other object contained in the casing.
In practice, therefore, the new device can thus be used also as a normal ice bag for bottles, in addition to being used as a device for sanitizing and cooling crockery in general, thus saving much space.
Said device can be operated when needed by simply pressing a button or through another automatic or non-automatic means.
According to the invention, the new device may comprise lights, for example LEDs, mounted on said base and/or on said casing.
Thanks to the fact that it is possible to power the device through a connection to the electric power supply network and/or through one or more batteries, the new device can be used in any place, even if not connected to the electric power supply network.
The characteristics of the new device are highlighted in greater detail in the following description, with reference to the attached drawings that are enclosed hereto by way of non-limiting example.
Figure 1 shows a schematic side view of the new device (1), while Figure 2 shows a schematic view of the casing (4) separated from the base (2) of the device (1). Figure 3 schematically shows how the gas (F) emitted by the nozzle (3) reaches the glass (C) to be cooled and sanitized and then is recirculated inside the casing (4) so that it contributes to cooling or maintaining the temperature of any bottles (B) or other objects housed in the casing (4) itself.
The new device (1) for cooling and sanitizing glasses (C), cups, jugs and crockery in general comprises power supply means or means for connection to a power supply network, not represented in the drawings, means (11) for connection to a cylinder or to another source of cooling gas, typically carbon dioxide, at least one supporting base (2), at least one nozzle (3) suited to emit said gas and projecting from said base (2), for example orthogonally, as shown in Figure 2.
Said connection means (1 1) comprise, for example, one or more ducts made of copper, brass and/or other materials useful for the intended purpose.
The new device (1) comprises also at least one casing (4) suited to contain bottles (B), glasses and any other object to be cooled, said casing (4) in turn preferably comprising a bottom (41) and side walls (42) defining an internal compartment (45).
Said bottom (41) preferably comprises at least one through hole or opening (43) suitable for the introduction of said nozzle (3), which therefore comes to be substantially positioned inside said casing (4), and in particular said nozzle (3) projects from the bottom (41) of said casing (4).
Said casing (4) preferably comprises also a substantially tubular raised portion (44) at the level of said through hole or opening (43) for the insertion of said nozzle (3).
Said casing (4) is suited to be constrained to said base (2) in a preferably removable manner. For example, said casing (4) simply rests on said base (2) and can be withdrawn from said nozzle (3), so that said casing (4) can also be used as a common ice bag or ice bucket for bottles.
The body of said nozzle (3) is elongated, in such a way that its mouth (31) is positioned at a given height with respect to said base (2) and to said bottom (41) of the casing (4).
Figure 3 schematically shows how, when a glass (C) or cup, a jug or an item of crockery in general needs to be cooled or sanitized, said item of crockery (C) must
be positioned substantially above said nozzle (3) , in such a way that the emitted gas (F) comes into contact with the surface (CI) to be sanitized or the part to be cooled.
Said casing (4) has the function of collecting the gas (F) that, after reaching the surface (CI) of the item of crockery, can be conveniently used to contribute to cooling or to maintaining the temperature of any object contained in the casing (4), such as, for example, bottles (B).
Said casing (4), for example, is made of a transparent or opaque material, including metal and/or plastic and/or glass and/or any other type of material.
These are the schematic outlines which are sufficient to the expert in the art to carry out the invention, consequently, during the actual construction stage variants may be developed that do not affect the substance of the innovative concept introduced herein.
Therefore, with reference to the above description and the attached drawings, the following claims are expressed.
