一定期間強度を保持した後に、短時間で崩壊する資材を製造し得る結合剤を提供する。骨材同士を結合させるための結合剤であって、水溶性高分子を含んでなる構成を有する。

Description

結合剤、および資材
 本発明は、結合剤および資材に関する。より詳細には、骨材同士を結合するための結合剤および当該結合剤により結合してなる資材に関する。
 従来、建築資材として、砂利および砕石などの天然石粒同士をセメントにより結合させたコンクリートが用いられている。しかしながら、コンクリートは強度を有するものの、分解性がない。その結果、使用後の建築資材を廃棄した後、長期間にわたり元の状態で残ったままとなる。そのため、コンクリートのような建築資材は、廃棄により地球環境を汚染するという問題がある。
 地球環境の汚染を抑えるために、天然石粒同士を結合させるバインダー成分として、セメントの代わりに生分解性樹脂を用いる技術が開発されている。生分解性樹脂は生分解性を有するため、生分解性樹脂を用いた建築資材では、廃棄後、時間経過とともにバインダー成分が分解し、それにより建築資材の崩壊が進行する。
 例えば特許文献1には、天然石粒を生分解性樹脂により結合した結合体であって、分解性樹脂が天然石粒同士間の間隙の全部を塞がず水が通過しうる連通路が形成されている結合体が記載されている。
 特許文献2には、骨材と、骨材同士を結合させるセメント系結合剤とからなり、内部に連続した空隙を有する硬化体であって、水溶性材料またはバクテリアによって生分解される生分解性材料を内部に含んでいる硬化体が記載されている。

 特許文献1に記載の結合体は、天然石粒同士を結合させる結合剤として生分解性樹脂が用いられている。したがって、使用済の結合体を廃棄した後、結合剤は生分解により消失し、天然石粒のみが残る。そのため、結合剤として生分解性樹脂を使用した結合体は、廃棄後の環境への負荷が小さい。しかしながら、一定の強度が求められる建築資材としての使用を考慮すると、分解性の高い樹脂を用いると使用中に樹脂の分解が進み、建築資材としての強度を維持できない恐れがある。したがって、建築資材において結合剤として生分解性樹脂を用いる場合、最終的には建築資材は崩壊し、環境への負荷は抑えられるものの、完全に崩壊するまでの時間が長くなってしまう。
 また、特許文献2に記載の硬化体では、結合剤はセメント系結合剤であって、いわゆるセメントが想定されている。すなわち、特許文献2に記載の硬化体は崩壊しないことが前提の構成となっている。
 そこで、本発明は上記の問題点に鑑みてなされたものであり、その目的は、一定期間強度を保持した後に、短時間で崩壊する資材、および当該資材を製造できる結合剤を提供することにある。
 本発明に係る結合剤は、上記課題を解決するために、骨材同士を結合させるための結合剤であって、上記結合剤は、水溶性高分子を含んでなる構成を有している。
 本発明によって、一定期間強度を保持した後、完全に崩壊する時間が短い資材を製造できる結合剤を得ることができる。
 本発明に係る結合剤および資材の一実施形態である、および仮設用建築資材の形成に用いられる結合剤および仮設用の建築資材について以下に説明する。
 〔建築資材形成用結合剤〕
 本実施形態に係る結合剤は、骨材同士を結合剤により結合させた結合体である仮設用の建築資材を形成する際に使用される結合剤である。
 建築資材形成用結合剤は、結合成分が水溶性高分子である結合剤である。水溶性高分子としては、多糖類(例えば、デンプン類、アルギン酸誘導体、天然ガム類、単純多糖類、複合多糖類、及びムコ多糖類)および合成高分子を挙げることができる。より具体的には、非限定的に、アルギン酸ナトリウム、アルギン酸プロピレングリコールエステル、カルメロース、カルメロースカルシウム、ガティガム、カラギーナン、カルボキシビニルポリマー、カルボキシメチルエチルセルロース、カルボキシメチルスターチナトリウム、カルボキシメチルセルロースナトリウム、カルメロースナトリウム、キサンタンガム、グァーガム、クインスシードガム、グルコマンナン、コポリビドン、ジェランガム、ゼラチン、タマリンドガム、タラガム、デキストリン、デンプン、トウモロコシデンプン、トラガント、バレイショデンプン、ヒアルロン酸ナトリウム、ヒドロキシエチルセルロース、ヒドロキシプロピルスターチ、ヒドロキシプロピルセルロース、ヒドロキシプロピルメチルセルロース、ヒドロキシメチルセルロース、ヒプロメロース、プルラン、ポリビニルピロリドン、ポリエチレンオキサイド、ポリビニルアルコール、ポリビニルアルコール-アクリル酸-メタクリル酸メチル共重合体、マクロゴール6000、エチルセルロース、メチルセルロース、リン酸架橋デンプン、ローカストビーンガム、寒天、寒梅粉、完全アルファー化デンプン、結晶セルロースカルメロースナトリウム、酸化デンプン、低置換度ヒドロキシプロピルセルロースおよび部分アルファー化デンプンなどが挙げられる。中でも、プルラン、デンプン、ヒドロキシプロピルセルロース、ヒドロキシプロピルメチルセルロース、ポリビニルアルコールが好ましく、プルラン、デンプン、ヒドロキシメチルセルロース、ヒドロキシプロピルメチルセルロース、ポリビニルアルコールがより好ましく、プルランおよびヒドロキシプロピルメチルセルロースがさらに好ましい。
 結合剤の結合成分が水溶性高分子であることにより、これを用いて作成された結合体が水に触れると、結合剤が水に溶解し、結合剤における骨材同士を結合させる機能が果たせなくなる。その結果、骨材同士がばらばらとなり、結合体が崩壊することとなる。また、その崩壊の速度は、ポリ乳酸等の生分解性樹脂を用いた従来の結合体と比して著しく速い。したがって、使用後の建築資材をすばやく崩壊させることができる。
 結合剤の形態は特に制限されず、粉末、粒子、液体、分散系などであり得る。
 〔建築資材〕
 本実施形態に係る建築資材は、骨材同士を結合剤により結合してなる結合体である。また、本実施形態に係る建築資材は、仮設用の建築資材であり、建築工事の終了後に、撤去および廃棄されるものである。
 (結合剤)
 結合剤は、上述の建築資材形成用結合剤が用いられる。結合剤としては、一種類を単独で用いてもよく、二種以上を組み合わせて用いてもよい。
 結合体の崩壊を速めるという観点からは、結合剤として水溶性高分子のみを用いることが好ましいが、強度を高める観点から、加水分解性樹脂または生分解性樹脂を組み合わせて用いてもよい。加水分解性樹脂または生分解樹脂としては、脂肪族ポリエステルが挙げられる。具体的には、ポリグリコール酸、グリコール酸またはグリコリドと他のヒドロキシカルボン酸との共重合体、ポリ乳酸、乳酸と他のヒドロキシカルボン酸との共重合体、ポリブチレンサクシネート、ポリブチレンアジペート、ポリカプロラクトン、およびカプロラクトンと他のヒドロキシカルボン酸との共重合体が挙げられる。中でもポリグリコール酸およびポリ乳酸が好ましく、ポリグリコール酸がより好ましい。
 結合体の崩壊を速めるという観点から、結合剤全体における加水分解性樹脂および生分解性樹脂の量は、80重量%以下であることが好ましく、50重量%以下であることがより好ましく、20重量%以下であることがさらに好ましく、加水分解性樹脂および生分解性樹脂を含んでいないことが最も好ましい。
 (骨材)
 骨材は、結合体の主たる成分を構成するものである。骨材としては、建築資材に一般的に用いられている粗骨材および細骨材を用いることができる。粗骨材としては、例えば、砕石、陸砂利および川砂利などが挙げられる。また、細骨材としては、例えば、川砂、海砂、山砂、砕砂および珪砂などが挙げられる。これらの骨材は単独で用いてもよく、二種以上を組み合わせて用いてもよい。
 また、上述のような天然の骨材に限らず、廃ガラス、ガラスビーズ、セラミックおよびプラスチックなどの人工骨材が含まれていてもよい。しかしながら建築資材崩壊後の環境への負荷を抑えるという観点からは、人工骨材を用いないことが好ましい。
 〔その他の成分〕
 本実施形態に係る建築資材には、骨材および結合剤以外の成分が含まれていてもよい。含み得る成分としては、消泡剤、無機繊維、有機繊維などが挙げられる。
 〔結合体の構造〕
 結合体における骨材と結合剤との含有比率に特に制限はなく、建築資材の目的、用途、使用期間および使用環境、骨材の種類ならびに結合剤の種類などに応じて適宜設定すればよい。例えば、結合体における骨材の量が70~90重量%、90~95重量%または95~98重量%であることができる。また、結合体全体を100としたときに、骨材の割合(容積比)が、例えば、65~90、90~95、95~98であることができる。
 結合体には、気泡または連通する空隙が存在してもよいが、これらを含んでいないものが好ましい。なお、「気泡が存在しない」という場合、製造過程において意図せず発生してしまう微小な気泡が存在するものを排除するものではない。
 建築資材は目的に応じて、成形可能な任意の形状の成型品とすることができる。例えば、立方体状、パネル状、筒状、円筒状、樋状、棒状、円錐状、角錐状、球状および枠状などが挙げられるが、これらに限定されるものではない。建築資材の具体的な例としては、建築中の足場、養生体に用いることができる。
 なお、上述の実施形態では、仮設用の建築資材について説明したが、仮設用の土木資材についての説明も同様であり、具体的な形態については、土木資材の目的に応じて適宜設計すればよい。土木資材の具体的な例としては、土木工事における足場、養生体に用いることができる。
 〔建築資材の製造方法〕
 本実施の形態に係る建築資材は、骨材と結合剤とを用いて結合体を製造する従来の方法に基づき製造することができる。
 例えば、粉末状の水溶性高分子と水と骨材とを所定の比率で混合した後、加熱または乾燥させて水溶性高分子を固化することにより、建築資材となる結合体を得ることができる。具体的な条件は、使用する水溶性高分子、想定される建築資材の使用環境に応じて、適宜設定すればよい。
 (まとめ)
 本発明に係る結合剤は、骨材同士を結合させるための結合剤であって、上記結合剤は、水溶性高分子を含んでなる構成を有している。
 また本発明に係る結合剤において、上記水溶性高分子が、プルラン、デンプン、ヒドロキシメチルセルロース、ヒドロキシプロピルメチルセルロースまたはポリビニルアルコールであることが好ましい。
 本発明に係る資材は、上記課題を解決するために、上述の結合剤によって、上記骨材同士を結合してなる構成を有している。
 また、本発明に係る資材の一態様は、仮設用の建築用又は土木用資材であり得る。
 以下に実施例を示し、本発明の実施の形態についてさらに詳しく説明する。もちろん、本発明は以下の実施例に限定されるものではなく、細部については様々な態様が可能であることはいうまでもない。さらに、本発明は上述した実施形態に限定されるものではなく、請求項に示した範囲で種々の変更が可能であり、それぞれ開示された技術的手段を適宜組み合わせて得られる実施形態についても本発明の技術的範囲に含まれる。また、本明細書中に記載された文献の全てが参考として援用される。
 [崩壊評価試験]
 予め重量を計ったサンプルを、80℃に加熱してある500mlのイオン交換水が入った容器に投入し、80℃のオーブン内で撹拌しない状態で所定時間保持した。所定時間経過後にオーブンから容器を取り出し、ピンセットでサンプルを摘み取り出した。室温でサンプルを数時間放置し、水分を除去した後、外観を確認するとともに、崩壊していない残ったサンプルの重量を測定した。
 〔実施例1〕
 珪砂25gおよび砕石20gを、離型剤を塗布したガラス製容器内に入れ混合し、そこにプルラン(株式会社林原製)5gの粉末を加え、均一になるように混合した。そこにイオン交換水5mlを加え、更に混練した後、120℃に温めたオーブン内で2時間乾燥した。室温まで冷却した後、サンプルを取り出した。得られたサンプルの重量は47.8g、寸法は直径38mm、長さが27mm(比重1.5g/cm)であった。サンプルの崩壊評価試験を実施した結果、イオン交換水の入った容器中で30分間保持したところ、サンプルは完全に崩壊し形状を保っていなかった。
 〔実施例2〕
 プルラン5gの粉末の代わりにヒドロキシプロピルメチルセルロース5gの粉末を用いた以外は実施例1と同様にしてサンプルを調製した。得られたサンプルの重量は45g、寸法は直径38mm、長さが27mm(比重1.4g/cm)であった。サンプルの崩壊評価試験を実施した結果、イオン交換水の入った容器中で30分間保持したところ、サンプルは完全に崩壊し形状を保っていなかった。
 〔比較例1〕
 120℃で一晩乾燥させて120℃に保温してある珪砂40gおよび砕石40gを、離型剤塗布したガラス製容器内に入れ混合し、そこに100℃で融解させたグリコド11.4g(触媒として2塩化スズをグリコドに対して90ppm添加し融解させたもの)を注ぎ入れ、目視で気泡が無く均一になるよう練り込んだ。その後、170℃に温めたオーブン内で重合反応させ、3時間後に室温まで冷却した後、ガラス製容器からサンプルを取り出した。得られたサンプルの重量は91.4g、寸法は、直径46mm、長さが25mm(比重2.1g/cm)であった。得られたサンプルについて崩壊評価試験を実施した結果、イオン交換水の入った容器中で6時間保持した後でも、サンプルの形状にほとんど変化は見られなかった。また、重量もほとんど変化していなかった。保持時間が9時間を経過した頃からサンプル表面が崩壊し始め、完全崩壊して形状が保てなくなるまでに24時間を要した。

Claims (4)

  1.  骨材同士を結合させるための結合剤であって、
     上記結合剤は、水溶性高分子を含んでなることを特徴とする結合剤。
  2.  上記水溶性高分子が、プルラン、デンプン、ヒドロキシメチルセルロース、ヒドロキシプロピルメチルセルロースまたはポリビニルアルコールであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の結合剤。
  3.  請求項1または2に記載の結合剤によって、上記骨材同士を結合してなることを特徴とする資材。
  4.  仮設用の建築資材または土木資材であることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の資材。
