[29] Turning now to figure 1, there is shown guidance marking tape 3 for flange stud sequence tightening and setting guidance. As can be seen from figure 2, the guidance marking tape 3 is configured for wrapping around the outer edge of a flange 2 so as to indicate the correct stud numbering sequence and, in embodiments, also the appropriate torque settings. [30] Returning again to figure 1, the guidance marking tape 3 comprises tightening sequence numbering 5 having a plurality of sequence numbers 5 spaced apart such that each respective sequence number corresponds to a respective stud 4 of the flange 2 from figure 2 when the guidance marking tape 3 is wrapped around the outer edge of the flange 2.
[31] Specifically, turning now to figure 2, there is shown the guidance marking tape 3 of figure 1 having been wrapped around a flange 2 wherein, as can be seen, each sequence number 5 corresponds with a respective stud.
[32] Specifically, for illustrative purposes, each stud in figure 2 has been numbered from 1 to 12, wherein the stud number 1 may be any one of the studs as an arbitrary starting point.
[33] In this regard, the correspondence sequence numbering 5 indicates the correct sequence in which the studs 4 are to be tightened. Specifically, the exemplary guidance marking tape 3 shown in figures 1 and 2 is configured for utilisation with a 12 stud flange 2 wherein, as can be appreciated from the illustrations, stud 1 is to be tightened first, then stud 7, then stud 4 and so on and so forth.
[34] As can be appreciated, such sequence numbering corresponds to the industry standard stud sequence numbering for a flange having 12 studs as is illustrated from the sequence numbering table provided in Table 1.
[35] Now, in a preferred embodiment, the guidance marking tape 3 has a length configured to match the circumference of the flange 2 or have a length exceeding the circumference of the flange 2 so as to overlap.
[36] Furthermore, as is shown in figure 2, when wrapped around the flange 2, the sequence numbering 5 is appropriately spaced apart on the tape 3 so as to collocate adjacent each respective stud 4.
[37] Furthermore, the guidance marking tape 3 may display the flange size and/or pipe rating. Specifically, as is shown in figures 1 and 2, the guidance marking tape 3 comprises a flange size indication 7 indicating the diameter of the flange 2. In this regard, the user may possess a set of guidance marking tapes 3 for a plurality of flange size and stud numbers. As such, in use, the user is able to quickly and easily inspect the flange size indication 7 and pound rating indication 8 so as to be able to select the appropriate guidance marking tape 3 for use. [38] As can be appreciated, guidance marking tapes 3 may be provided for each of the stud number types as is provided in Table 1 so as to be suited for flanges having from 4 to 80 studs, for example.

[41] Generally, the width of the flange 2 is determined in accordance with the pressure rating of the piping. In the embodiment shown, the guidance marking tape 3 may comprise a pressure rating indication 8. As such, knowing the pressure rating of the piping, the user is able to select the appropriate guidance marking tape 3.
[42] In this regard, it should be noted that differing guidance marking tapes 3 may be utilised for flanges 2 having the same size and the same number of studs but differing pressure ratings. Specifically, differing torque values may be required for differ pressure ratings as will be described in further detail below and therefore differing guidance marking tapes 3 may be required to indicate the differing torque values required in accordance with the appropriate pressure rating.
[43] However, with regards to the width of the flange 2, the pressure rating indication 8 of the guidance marking tape 3 may correspond with the width of the guidance marking tape so that, and as alluded to above, substantial deviations in the width of the flange 2 and the width of the guidance marking tape 3 may warn the user that an inappropriate guidance marking tape 3 is been used for the desired pressure rating.
[44] In embodiments, the guidance marking tape 3 may be colour-coded to indicate the pressure rating allowing for the selection of the appropriate guidance marking tape 3 in use.
[45] Now, and as also alluded to above, in embodiment, the guidance marking tape 3 may additionally indicate torque setting values.
