Description

DESCRIPTION
"Stool with swivel seat"
~k ~k ~k
The present invention relates to a stool with swivel seat .
As it is known, seats that guarantee minimum space and maximum convenience of use are currently widespread and popular. Often these characteristics are found in the stools, having or not having a backrest, which in a short space provide a stable and compact seat.
The commonly used seats, when they have the ability to rotate completely or partially, are usually equipped with mechanical members which allow its movement and / or wheels. Although advantageous under several aspects, these elements make the structure of the seat very heavy and therefore less practical and more subject to blocks.
The object of the present invention is to provide a stool with swivel seat which is compact, lightweight, stable, economical and practical in use, having characteristics such as to overcome the limits which still affect the swivel chairs with reference to the known technique .
According to the present invention, a stool with swivel seat is provided, as defined in claim 1.
For a better understanding of the present invention a preferred embodiment is now described, purely by way of non-limiting example, with reference to the annexed drawings in which:
- Figure 1 shows a perspective view of the stool with swivel seat, according to the invention;
- Figure 2 shows a side view of the stool with swivel seat, according to the invention;
Figure 3 shows a perspective view of the upper portion of the stool with swivel seat, according to the invention;
- Figure 4 shows a perspective view of the stool with swivel seat with the seat detached, according to the invention; - Figure 5 shows a sectional view of a portion of the stool attached to the swivel seat, according to the invention;
- Figure 6 shows a view of the upper portion of the stool configured to engage the lower portion of the swivel seat of the stool, according to the invention.
With reference to the figures 1 and 2, the stool with swivel seat 100 is showed, according to the invention.
More in details, the stool with swivel seat 100 comprises a rigid supporting body 101 equipped with support means 102 to allow the support of the stool with swivel seat 100 on a floor, and a swivel seat 103.
As best shown in Figure 3, the upper portion of the rigid supporting body 101 comprises a housing 104 on which the swivel seat 103 is anchored.
According to an aspect of the invention, the housing 104 has a circular shape with rounded edge 105 with a central protrusion 106 prominent from the inner surface 107 of the housing 104.
According to another aspect of the invention, the inner surface 107 of the housing 104 presents a plurality of anchoring element 108, for example toothed joints, spaced from one another and arranged concentrically around the central protrusion 106, and forming a circular toothed profile 108a.
Advantageously according to the invention, the anchoring elements 108 are configured to be latch wedged with the lower portion of the swivel seat 103, which, according to an aspect of the invention, has a circular shape .
Figure 4 shows, in detail, the lower portion of the swivel seat 103. In particular, the lower portion of the swivel seat 103 has a circular outer edge 109, an inner peripheral circular protrusion 110 and a central circular inner protrusion 111 having an internal diameter lower than that of the circular outer edge 109 and of the inner peripheral circular protrusion 110, in such a way that the circular outer edge 109, the inner peripheral circular protrusion 110 and the central circular inner protrusion 111 appear concentric around a central concavity 112 present at the center of the lower portion of the swivel seat 103. From this central concavity 112 linear protrusions 113 radially depart and extend up to the inner peripheral circular protrusion 110. These linear protrusions 113 divide the surface of the lower portion of the swivel seat 103 in contiguous circular sectors 103a, ... 103m, where m can be set by the degree of robustness required to the stool with swivel seat 100.
Advantageously according to the invention, the inner peripheral circular protrusion 110 has a height that varies in a continuous manner so that it is minimum at the center of the arc of each circular sector 103a, ...103m and maximum in correspondence of the linear protrusions 113 that delimit the sectors themselves. The inner peripheral circular protrusion 110 has, therefore, a depression of its height in correspondence with the central circular inner protrusion 111. In the example shown in Figure 4, the circular sectors 103a ... 103e are five. Basically, the more are the portions of the peripheral circular protrusion 110 in which the height is maximum, the greater are the friction points. For example, in the case of Figure 4, the friction points of friction are reduced to 5. In this way, the sliding of the swivel seat 103 on the stool with swivel seat 100 is facilitated.
Advantageously according to the invention, the linear protrusions 113 are inserted in the spaces between the anchoring elements 108 when the swivel seat 103 is stuck on the rigid supporting body 101 of the stool with swivel seat 100.
The central circular inner protrusion 111 has along its internal circumference a toothed profile having a diameter close to that on which the anchoring elements are arranged 108, for example the toothed joints, of the housing 104. The coupling between the toothed profile of the central circular inner protrusion 111 and the toothed profile formed by the anchoring elements 108 makes possible the interlocking between the swivel seat 103 and the rigid supporting body 101, for example via toothed latch.
Once the latch of the swivel seat 103 to the housing 104 is occurred, the mobility of the swivel seat 103 is such as not to be affected by friction caused by the engagement with the housing 104. Therefore, the swivel seat 103 can run without detaching from the housing 104, thereby ensuring its correct positioning.
Figures 5 and 6 show, even more in detail, the joint between the anchoring elements 108 and the toothed profile of the central circular inner protrusion 111, by means of the coupling between the depression of the inner peripheral circular protrusion 110 and the space between two subsequent anchoring elements 108.
According to an aspect of the invention, the support means 102 are at least four, so that, advantageously according to the invention, the stability and the resistance of the structure of the stool with swivel seat 100.
In use, the contact points between the swivel seat 103 and the housing 104 of the rigid supporting body 101 are located only in correspondence of the central concavity 112, which is in contact with the central protrusion 106 of the housing 104, and in correspondence of the points of the inner peripheral circular protrusion 110 having a maximum height. Advantageously, the friction surfaces are limited during the rotation of the swivel seat 103.
Advantageously according to the invention, the swivel seat 103 is associated in a firm manner to the support structure while being rotatable around it.
Therefore, the stool with swivel seat according to the invention allows to minimize the friction during the rotation of the seat.
Another advantage of the stool with swivel seat according to the invention is to be stable.
In addition, the stool with swivel seat according to the invention is safe.
Finally, the stool with swivel seat according to the invention is low cost.
Finally, it is clear that the stool with swivel seat described and illustrated here may be subject to modifications and variations without thereby departing from the protective scope of the present invention, as defined in the appended claims.
