Abstract

A closure device (10, 100, 200, 300) for use with a container (34) having a main liquid compartment and an opening (40) with a container neck (38) comprises a cap member (36) adapted to be secured to the opening (40) of the container, a plug member (64) fixed relative to the cap member (36) and having a nozzle (74), a pressurised fluid chamber (60) inside the cap member (36), and a plunger (14). The fluid chamber (60) is slidably mounted relative to the plug member (64) and has a bottom aperture (66) sealingly engageable by the plug member (64). The plunger (14) abuts the fluid chamber (60) and extends through an aperture (37) in the cap member (36). The plunger (14) and fluid chamber (60) are movable relative to the cap member (36) and plug member (64), from a closed position in which the bottom aperture (66) of the fluid chamber is sealed closed by the plug member (64), to a firing position in which the plug member (64) is arranged to provide a fluid communication path from the fluid chamber (60) through the nozzle (74) of the plug member (64). Pressurised additive liquid can thus be ejected through the nozzle (74) at high pressure and mixed with liquid in the container (34) by operation of the plunger (14).
