Upper portion assembly 40 further includes collar 46 that extends from the top ends of upper flaps 42; 42a and continues around the circumference of an infant's neck to provide it with greater warmth. In an alternate embodiment shown in figure 9, upper flap fastening means 144 can be used to secure top flaps 42; 42a to lower flaps 62; 62a, respectively. This is done so that a user can maintain one side closed and the infant warm while being able to open the opposite flap to access an area on the infant's upper body.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un vêtement utilisé pour envelopper un nourrisson, ayant des parties supérieures pour recouvrir le torse supérieur du nourrisson et des parties inférieures pour recouvrir une section médiane et les jambes du nourrisson. Les manches du vêtement sont montées sur la surface intérieure du vêtement de telle sorte que chacune peut être rentrée sous les parties supérieures et inférieures pour fournir davantage de chaleur. Le vêtement comporte des ouvertures à travers les côtés ou l'avant des parties supérieures fournissant, à un utilisateur, des options pour positionner les bras du nourrisson. Les parties supérieures peuvent être fixées ensemble à l'aide d'une pluralité de moyens de fixation, tout comme les parties inférieures. En variante, les parties supérieures et inférieures peuvent être fermées de manière indépendante, permettant à un utilisateur d'accéder à des zones sélectionnées du corps tout en maintenant le reste du corps recouvert et la température stable. Des couvertures de mains peuvent être utilisées au niveau des extrémités distales des manches pour fournir davantage de chaleur.
