Summary
Technical Problem
However, the conventional front lighting structure for a motorcycle arranges the headlight separately from the winker lights, and even for a vehicle type having a design in which the winker lights are arranged in the front cover and are brought close to the headlight, it appears large and bulky design when both lights are adjacently arranged each other, a novel design like as layer structure that appears not large and bulky created by the winker light has a ridge line formed as to extend widely than the ridge line of the headlight in top view.
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object thereof is to provide a front lighting structure for a motorcycle that can provide a novel design such as sporty and compact created by a headlight and winker lights, even they are adjacently arranged to each other. Solution to Problem
The invention of claim 1 is a front lighting structure for a motorcycle including a front cover that covers a front of the motorcycle. The headlight is mounted on the front cover. The pair of winker lights is mounted at upper portion of the head light. The winker lights are mounted in a manner to overlap above the headlight, and the ridge line of the winker lights are formed so as to extend more widely than a ridge line of the headlight in a top view of the motorcycle.
The invention of claim 2 is the front lighting structure for a motorcycle according to claim 1 , in which the winker lights have a pair of overhang portions which is made by a difference of degree between the ridge lines of winker lights and headlight at upper portion of the headlight.
The invention of claim 3 is the front lighting structure for a motorcycle according to claim 2, in which the headlight includes a position light and a pair of reflectors that is mounted to the upper portion of the headlight, and the pair of reflectors is located below position of the overhang portion.
The invention of claim 4 is the front lighting structure for a motorcycle according to claim 3, in which the pair of winker lights is formed with a concealing ribs that is extended along at both sides of the reflectors for preventing leaking light from the position light .
The invention of claim 5 is the front lighting structure for a motorcycle according to claim 4, in which the position light is positioned at a center of motorcycle inside of headlight and covered with the front cover in the front view.
The invention of claim 6 is the front lighting structure for a motorcycle according to claim 3, in which the pair of winker lights is formed with a protruding shape connected to the overhang portion for protruding a hook shape downwardly and for covering an upper corner of the headlight in the front view of the motorcycle.
Advantageous Effects of Invention
According to the invention of claim 1 , the headlight is mounted on the front cover, the pair of winker lights are mounted at upper portion of the head light, the winker lights are mounted in a manner to overlap above the headlight, and the ridge line of the winker lights are formed so as to extend more widely than a ridge line of the headlight in a top view of the motorcycle, thus enabling provision of a novel design created by the winker lights having a ridge line formed as to extend widely than the ridge line of the headlight. In other words, the appearance of total structure can be compactly seen (the surfaces thereof are separated) because the different degree of ridge lines make the layer structure between winker lights and headlight, in which layer structure appears not large and bulky structure even the winker lights and the headlight are adjacently arranged each other.
According to the invention of claim 2, the winker lights have a pair of overhang portions which are made by a difference of degree between the ridge lines of winker lights and headlight at upper portion of the headlight. In fact, the layer structure enables the dark and shadow area at portion where is lower than this layer. This is to provide the new design image that appears shade, dark and shadow area which is the attractive structure.
According to the invention of claim 3, the headlight includes a position light and a pair of reflectors that are mounted to the upper portion of the headlight, and the pair of reflectors are located below position of the overhang portion, thus enabling the illumination of the position light at it reflectors becomes brighter and more obvious to see. It's because of the reflectors are located at the dark or shadow area where is below the difference of degree between the winker light and the headlight.
According to the invention of claim 4, the pair of winker lights is formed with a concealin ribs that is extended along at both sides of the reflectors for preventing leaking light from the position light. Since the headlight and winker light are arranged together without any cover means, there is high possibility that the light can easily leak. The concealing ribs which are extended along both sides of the reflectors where the position lamp illuminates, the concealing ribs further provide as a cover means to prevent the leaking light from the position lamp, also enabling a reduction in parts count.
According to the invention of claim 5, the position light is positioned at a center of motorcycle inside of headlight and covered with the front cover in the front view, thus enabling the position light can effectively illuminate the light to left and right sides, also the position light cannot be directly seen from the front view of motorcycle.
According to the invention of claim 6, the pair of winker lights are formed with a protruding shape connected to the overhang portion for protruding a hook shape downwardly and for covering an upper corner of the headlight in the front view of the motorcycle, thus it is easy to design the protruding shape because it is connected to the overhang portion that has some space in front of the headlight. Accordingly, this is the design combination with the overhang portion and the hook shape that is noble and unique perspective design. Furthermore, the hook shape seems the winker lights are binding the headlight, and appear like as the integral part. Brief Description of Drawings

The motorcycle includes a front handle cover 1 a and a rear handle cover lb, a front cover 2 that covers the front of a vehicle, a front hood 3, a right and left pair of winker lights 4 and a headlight 5 mounted in the front cover 2, a pair of right and left back mirrors 6(L, R), a pair of right and left handles 7(L, R), a front brake lever 8a and a rear brake lever 8b, a front tire 9, a rotor and a caliper 10 for a front brake, outer front forks 1 1 , a leg shield 12, a floor panel 13, a side stand 14, a main stand 15, a belt converter cover 16, an air cleaner 17, a rear tire 18, a rear cushion 19, a front fender 20a and a rear fender 20b, a rear combination light 21 , a rear grip 22, a seat 23, a center cover 24, side covers 25, an upper inner cover 26a and a lower inner cover 26b, and a pair of passenger steps 27.
As shown in Figs. 3 through 6, in the front lighting structure according to the present embodiment in particular, the headlight 5 is mounted in the front cover 2, and the winker lights 4 are mounted so as to overlap above the upper portion of the headlight 5. The front cover 2 is mounted so as to cover the front of a head pipe (not shown) of the motorcycle, and a rear thereof is covered with the upper inner cover 26a and the lower inner cover 26b thereto lower inner cover 26b is opened for storing an d carried rider's thing.
As shown in Figs. 7a to 1 1, the winker lights 4 are formed with a plurality of mounting portions M in each housing HI and are fixed to predetermined positions of the front cover 2 by screwing screws into the mounting portions M. Corresponding with Figs. 9 and 10, the headlight 5 is configured so that a socket S2 is formed at the lower center of a housing H2 and that a headlight bulb B2 is mounted on the socket S2. Light of the headlight bulb B2 passes through a lens G2 (refer to Figs. 10 through 12) formed on the front side of the housing H2 and is emitted toward the front of the vehicle. As shown in Figs. 2, 6a and 1 1, at an upper portion of the housing H2 is divided into two sessions which are a left reflecting portion BL and a right reflecting portion BR where a position light B3 mounted on a socket S3 is centrally formed therebetween, and the position light B3 can illuminate to the left and right reflecting portions BL,BR and appears like as two lighting sources of the position light. Specifically as shown in Fig 10, the housing H2 of the headlight 5 is formed a partitioning portion H2c that is extended forward to the lens G2 and between the headlight bulb B2 and the position light B3. The partitioning portion H2c can depart the headlight bulb B2 from the position light B3, thus the illumination from the headlight B2 will never appear at the position light B3.
The winker lights 4 are right and left separate bodies, are separately mounted above the upper portion of the headlight 5, and can be blinked selectively through operation of a winker light switch (not shown) by a rider. Specifically, as shown in Fig. 12, the winker lights 4 are configured so that a socket SI is formed at the center of each of right and left housings HI and that a winker bulb Bl is mounted on each socket SI . Light of the winker bulb Bl passes through a lens Gl (refer to Figs. 1 1 through 13) formed on the front side of the housing HI and is emitted toward the front of the vehicle. Particularly, Figs. 1 1 and 12 show the lighting illumination of the position light B3 reflected in such direction, the light that illuminates to undesirable directions, has been blocked by the rear surface of the housing HI of winker lights 4 and a concealing ribs 4c that are extended along the left and right reflecting portions BL, BR. In other words, only the light as shown in Fig. 12 can pass the lens G2 through the proper direction when it reflects with the left and right reflecting portions BL, BR. From this arrangement the front lighting structure, the lighting illumination of the position light B3 can be seen only at certain area.
As shown in Fig. 8, the winker lights 4 are mounted so as to overlap above the upper portion of the headlight 5 in overlapping areas A and have an extending portions 4b that extends forward and downward to cover at least both sides of the position light B3. In other words, at rearward of the extending portions 4b can prevent light from leaking to the undesirable directions as explained in above. Correspondingly as shown in Fig. 5, the winker light forms a ridge line LI that extends widely and outward of a ridge line L2 at the upper portion of the headlight 5 for making an overhang portions 4e. Such that, the overhang portions 4e cause the appearance of total structure can be compactly seen because the different degree of ridge lines by the overhang portions 4e makes the layer structure between winker lights and headlight, the front lighting structure seems to like new attractive design for customers. Also, by the different degree of ridge lines of the winker light 4 extends widely and outward than the headlight 5 makes the dark or shadow area.
Accordingly with, the position light B3 is located at the upper portion of the headlight 5 where is lower than the overhang portions 4e and being the dark or shadow area, this enables the illumination of the position light B3 at the left and right reflecting portions BL,BR can be brighter that is more obvious to see. Furthermore as shown in Figs. 4, 6(a,b),10 and 14, the winker lights 4 according to the present embodiment are formed a pair of protruding shapes 4d that is connected to the overhang portions 4e. Regarding to the space of the overhang portions 4e extended widely and outward of the ridge line L2 of the headlight 5, the pair of protruding portions 4d has enough space to design easily. Specifically, the pair of protruding portions 4d is designed like as a hook shape that is downwardly extended at an upper corners 5a of the headlight. The hook shape of the pair of protruding shapes.4d is appeared to bind the both upper corners 5a of the headlight 5, in which it enables the integral design image of the front lighting structure.. As shown in Fig. 6(a,b) and Fig. 7, the winker lights 4 include the concealing ribs 4c that extend along the left and right reflecting portions BL,BR of the housing H2. As shown in Figs. 4, 6(a) and 11 , thus the concealing ribs 4c are enabling light of the position light B3 to be prevented from leaking to undesirable direction as specified in Figs. 1 1 and 12. Incidentally, in some countries, it is mandatory to provide a license plate Li at the front part of a motorcycle. In such countries, the license plate Li may be provided in the position as shown in Fig. 4.
Still furthermore, as shown in Fig. 8, the extending portions 4b of the winker lights 4 according to the present embodiment include the overlapping areas A above the upper portion of the headlight 5, and as shown in Fig. 9, the overlapping areas A are formed with a clearance C between the winker lights 4 and the headlight 5. Thus, the overlapped area A is to optimize character of lighting device by non-use of cover structure. Accordingly for the clearance C between the winker light 4 and the headlight 5, it is to avoid interference and breakage thereof due to vibration while riding.
More particularly in detail as shown in Figs. 3 to 5, a pair of side edge portions 4a of the winker lights 4 is positioned at parts extending rightward and leftward beyond upper portion of right and left ends (right and left corner portions in the upper corners 5a of the headlight 5 in Fig. 6(a)) of the headlight 5 in the front view of the vehicle. Thus, enabling the ridge lines L3 of the winker lights 4 seem to be extended rightward and leftward more widely, enabling an attractive image. Meanwhile, the headlight 5 can be compactly kept the size structure without any effect from the extension of the winker lights 4. The ridge lines LI , L3 and L2 include edge boundary lines of the lenses Gl and G2 constituting the winker lights 4 and the headlight 5, respectively. Furthermore, as shown in Fig. 3, the ridge line LI of the winker light 4 according to the present embodiment begins from the extending portions 4a and branches into two directions of the ridge line L3 on the side edge portion 4a of the winker light 4, and from parts of the front cover 2 at which respective branch ends are positioned, ridge lines L3 extend toward a side of the vehicle. The ridge lines L4 include edge boundary lines of the front cover 2. As a result of the corresponding design between the ridge lines L3 of the winker lights 4 and the ridge lines L4 of the front cover 2, the appearance of the winker lights 4 seems to be wide and smooth in accordance with design of the front cover 2, in which it enhances to the noble design appearance as sharp and sporty.
According to the embodiment, the headlight 5 is mounted on the front cover 2, the pair of winker lights 4 are mounted at upper portion of the headlight 5, the winker lights 4 are mounted in a manner to overlap above the headlight 5, and the ridge line LI of the winker lights 4 are formed so as to extend more widely than a ridge line L2 of the headlight 5 in a top view of the motorcycle, thus enabling provision of a novel design created by the winker light 4 has a ridge line LI formed as to extend widely than the ridge line L2 of the headlight 5.
In other words, the appearance of total structure can be compactly seen (the surfaces thereof are separated) because the different degree of ridge lines make the layer structure between winker lights 4 and headlight 5, in which layer structure appears not large and bulky structure even the winker lights 4 and the headlight 5 are adjacently arranged each other.
The winker lights 4 have a pair of overhang portions 4e which are made by a difference of degree between the ridge lines LI of winker lights 4 and headlight 5 at upper portion of the headlight 5. In fact, the layer structure enables the dark and shadow area at portion where is lower than this layer. This is to provide the new design image that appears shade, dark and shadow area which is the attractive structure.
Furthermore, the headlight 5 includes a position light B3 and a pair of reflectors (BR, BL) that are mounted to the upper portion of the headlight 5, and the pair of reflectors (BR, BL) are located below position of the overhang portion 4e, thus enabling the illumination of the position light B3 at the reflectors (BR, BL) becomes brighter and more obvious to see. It's because of the reflectors (BR, BL) are located at the dark or shadow area where is below the difference of degree between the winker light 4 and the headlight 5. Still furthermore, the pair of winker lights 4 is formed with a concealing ribs 4c that is extended along at both sides of the reflectors (BR, BL) for preventing leaking light from the position light B3. Since the headlight 5 and winker light 4 are arranged together without any cover means, there is high possibility that the light can easily leak. The concealing ribs 4c which are extended along both sides of the reflectors (BR, BL) where the position light illuminates further provides as a cover means to prevent the leaking light from the position lamp, also enabling a reduction in parts count.
In addition, the position light B3 is positioned at a center of motorcycle inside of headlight 5 and covered with the front cover 2 in the front view, thus enabling the position light B3 can effectively illuminate the light to left and right sides, also the position light B3 cannot be directly seen from the front view of motorcycle. Furthermore, the pair of winker lights 4 are formed with a protruding shape connected to the overhang portion 4e for protruding a hook shape downwardly and for covering an upper corner of the headlight 5 in the front view of the motorcycle, thus it is easy to design the protruding shape because it is connected to the overhang portion 4e that has some space in front of the headlight 5.
Accordingly, this is the design combination with the overhang portion 4e and the hook shape that is noble and unique perspective design. Furthermore, the hook shape seems the winker lights 4 are binding the headlight 5, and appear like as the integral part.
Although the present embodiment has been described, the present invention is not limited thereto; the present invention includes front lighting structures for a motor cycle as long as they have the winker lights 4 that are mounted in a manner to overlap above said headlight 5, and a ridge line LI of the winker lights 4 that are formed so as to extend more widely than a ridge line L2 of said headlight 5 in a top view of said motorcycle.
The front view shapes of the winker lights 4 and the headlight 5 are not limited to those of the embodiment and may be any external shape as long as the ridge lines LI and L2 have the above relation. The motorcycle in which the front lighting structure according to the present embodiment is used may be various vehicle types, not limited to the scooter as in the present embodiment. Industrial Applicability
The front lighting structure for a motorcycle can be used in a front lighting structure for a motorcycle having different appearance, a front lighting structure for a motorcycle to which other functions are added, or the like as long as the front lighting structure for a motorcycle in which a headlight is mounted in a front cover, winker lights are mounted so as to overlap above the upper portion of the headlight, and ridge lines of the winker lights are formed so as to overhang more outward than a ridge line at the upper portion of the headlight in a top view of a vehicle.
