Abstract

Improvements in marine aquariums having an aquarium housing (101) divided into a leading aquarium inhabitant compartment (111) and a trailing filtration compartment (112). One improvement is provisioning a discrete filtration compartment screen (118) for mounting in an upright concealing position for concealing the filtration compartment therebehind from a front view facing the marine aquarium. Another improvement is provisioning a filtration compartment (112) with an improved water filtration arrangement and a float-operated top up reservoir (190) for so-called small marine aquariums. Yet another improvement is provisioning a bulkhead arrangement (202) in a filtration compartment for enabling a marine aquarium to conveniently undergo a retrofit upgrade from an initial rear sump arrangement to an in-cabinet sump arrangement.
