Abstract

An embodiment of the present invention is directed to a sequence of methods using specific apparatus to enhance human brain waves to achieve specific functions. In accordance with an embodiment, initial step is to stimulate human brains through the use of images, animation, videos and coordinated hand exercises. This is followed by use of colour charts to develop right brain functions. The final step uses specially developed sound wave as an apparatus to activate the midbrain and cerebellum of the brain that could allow the person to use his or her brain waves to detect or "see" surrounding objects.

Description

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR BRAIN WAVE ENHANCEMENT
FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention generally relates to a method and apparatus for brain wave enhancement, synchronization and activation of midbrain and cerebellum of the brain; more particularly but not exclusively for concentration improvement, memory improvement and ability to detect and "see" surrounding objects using brain waves. It is useful for blind people, those going blind and normal persons who wish to improve their concentration, memory and acquire the ability to detect or "see" surrounding objects using their brain waves.
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
The human brain is one of the most important organs in our body. It functions as the central controlling unit that commands many parts of our body; coordinates smooth movements and allows us the ability to think and make decisions. Our thoughts and dreams, our memories and experiences all arise from the brain. At the root of all our thoughts, emotions and behaviours is the communication between neurons within our brains. Brainwaves are produced by synchronised electrical pulses from masses of neurons communicating with each other. Who we are is found within the initial firing patterns of the electrochemical pulses in the brain. The five senses that we possess, including: sight, hearing, smell, touch, and taste works independently in normal human beings. They are not coordinate and cannot substitute one another. The human brain has inherent ability to substitute the senses. However, most normal human beings are not forced to use this ability except under extreme conditions. This is seen in the case of a blind person. As the blind person has lost his or her ability to see using eyes, his or her hearing could be trained to replace his or her lost vision so the blind person could continue to navigate around with the help of a white cane. It will be too late to wait for such extreme conditions before taking any precautionary measures. Therefore, it is desirable to provide a method and apparatus to enable human beings to detect or "see" surround objects using brain waves instead of just using our eyes. This will provide great values to the blind people, those in the process of going blind and even those who have normal visions now and may lose their vision in future due to sickness or accidents.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION
An embodiment of the invention provides a solution through a systematic approach and effective apparatus to enhance and synchronise brain waves and activate midbrain and cerebellum of the brain through exciting and coordinating the electrochemical pulses within the brain. Coordinated activities generate brains waves which could be measured by Electroencephalography (EEG). Using the method and apparatus in this embodiment of the invention, participants are able to detect external environment using their brain waves. Though proper training, they are able to understand and "see" things around them without using their eyes. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Embodiments of the invention will now be described, by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is an image use to stimulate human brains in accordance with an embodiment of the invention;
Figure 2 is a hand exercise use to stimulate human brains in accordance with an embodiment of the invention;
Figure 3 is a series of colour images use to develop right brain functions in accordance with an embodiment of the invention:
Figure 4 is a series of sound waves used to enhance and synchronise brain waves and activate midbrain and cerebellum in accordance with an embodiment of the invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERED EMBODIMENT
The present invention provides a method and apparatus to enhance human brain waves. The combination of electrical activity of the brain is commonly called a brain wave pattern, because of its cyclic, 'wave-like' nature. Our mind regulates its activities by means of electric waves which are registered in the brain, emiting tiny electrochemical impulses of varied frequencies, which can be registered by an electroencephalogram. These brain waves are known as: Beta - emited when we are consciously alert, or we feel agitated, tense, afraid, with frequencies ranging from 13 to 60 pulses per second in the Hertz scale. Alpha - when we are in a state of physical and mental relaxation, although aware of what is happening around us, its frequency are around 7 to 13 pulses per second. Theta - more or less 4 to 7 pulses, it is a state of somnolence with reduced consciousness. Delta - when there is unconsciousness, deep sleep or catalepsy, emitting between 0.1 and 4 cycles per second.
In accordance with this invention, participants will go through the following steps in sequence to stimulate their brains, develop right brains, enhance and synchronise brain waves and finally allow the brain waves to detect and "see" surrounding objects.
Figure 1 is an example of an image use to stimulate human brains. The same image of Figure 1 can produce different perspectives in the brain. Imagine the light grey square 10 to be the top surface of the cube; you will see that the red dot 12 is on the top right corner of the cube nearer to the reader. If we imagine the dark grey surface 1 1 as the bottom of the cube, the light grey surface 10 will now move to the back of the cube. The red dot 12 now appears to the at the bottom right corner of the cube further away from the reader. It may take a few seconds before our brains switches perspective for the red dot 12 to move out and in of the cube. Through a series of such images, we stimulate the participants' brains.
Figure 2 illustrates an example of a coordinated finger exercise to stimulate and train human brains. Participants will follow the finger movements in sequence, starting with right hand thumb pointing to the right and the left hand little finger pointing to right as shown in 13. Then both fingers were closed as shown in 14, followed by the left thumb and right little finger both pointing to the left as shown in 15 and finally all fingers closed as shown in 16. Through a series of such finger exercises, we stimulate the participants' brains.
After brain stimulation, participants continue with development of right brain through a series of colour images as illustrated in Figure 3. In accordance with an embodiment of the invention, participants will go through 3 levels of training. In level 1 training, participants begin by looking at one colour image for 10 to 20 seconds, then look at a white background. A set of complementary colour will appear. The same practice is repeated for several images, and then participants will proceed to level 2 training. In level 2 training, participants will look at a colour image for 10 to 20 seconds, and then close their eyes. A colour image will appear in their mind. The same practice is repeated for several images after which they will proceed to level 3 training. In level 3 training, participants will look at a colour image for 10 to 20 seconds, then close their eyes and turn their head 90 degrees away from the screen. A colour image will appear in their mind. With their eyes close the image will fade away and they will turn their head back facing the screen with their eyes remain close. The original image will re-appear again in their mind. In this step, participants are trained to use their brain waves to connect with the image and link to the stored image in their memory.
Upon completion of the above steps, participants will put on a stereo headphone and begin to listen to a sound wave. The sound waves will appear as music to the participants. They will sit in relax positions while listening to the music. In accordance with this invention, 3 sound waves have been developed. The first sound wave 17 is a simple sound wave for alpha wave enhancement and midbrain activation. A more effective and elaborate sound wave 18 is developed for alpha wave enhancement, synchronization and activation of midbrain and cerebellum. Sound wave 19 is specially developed for adults. It has the same function as sound wave 18. Through these sound waves, participants' brain waves will be enhanced and synchronized and it will activate midbrains and cerebellums so that participants can use their brain waves to detect surrounding objects.

Claims

WHAT IS CLAIMED IS:
1 . A method of brain development training comprising the steps of: (a) stimulating the brain, (b) developing the right brain, (c) enhancing the brain waves, (d) synchronizing the brain waves and (5) activating the midbrain and cerebellum.
2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the step of developing the right brain further comprises a level 1 , a level 2 and a level 3 training, conducted through usage of a set of colour images as illustrated, but not limited to those in Figure 3.
3. The level 1 of training of claim 2 further comprising a step of observing by a participant one colour image for 10 to 20 seconds and a step of observing by the participant a white background, wherein the steps are repeated with other images.
4. The level 2 training of claim 2 further comprising a step of observing by a participant one colour image for 10 to 20 seconds and a step of closing the participant's eyes, wherein the steps are repeated with other images.
5. The level 3 training of claim 2 further comprising a step of observing by a participant one colour image for 10 to 20 seconds, a step of closing the participant's eyes and turning the participant's head 90 degrees away from the colour image and a step of turning the participant's head back facing the colour image with eyes remained close.
6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the step of enhancing the brain waves, the step of synchronizing the brain waves and the step of activating the midbrain and the cerebellum are performed by a sound wave 17 of Figure 4.
7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the step of enhancing the brain waves , the step of synchronizing the brain waves and the step of activating the midbrain and the cerebellum are performed by a sound wave 18 of Figure 4.
8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the step of enhancing the brain waves , the step of synchronizing the brain waves and the step of activating the midbrain and the cerebellum are performed by a sound wave 19 of Figure 4.
