Abstract
一种显示装置及其驱动方法,解决了现有技术中由于内电场导致显示的画面出现残影的技术问题。显示装置包括液晶面板、时序控制器和电压检测器(3);电压检测器(3)用于检测液晶面板的内电场;时序控制器根据电压检测器(3)的检测结果,调节并输出极性反转信号,以消除液晶面板的内电场。
Description
本申请要求享有2015年9月17日提交的名称为“显示装置及其驱动方法”的中国专利申请CN201510593223.8的优先权,其全部内容通过引用并入本文中。
本发明涉及显示技术领域,具体地说,涉及一种显示装置及其驱动方法。
随着显示技术的发展,液晶显示器已经成为最为常见的显示装置。在液晶显示器中,通过在像素电极与公共电极之间的电压差来驱动液晶,从而实现图像的显示。
然而在液晶的制作过程中,受到环境、设备等因素的影响,不可能得到完全纯化的液晶,所以不可避免地会在液晶中残留一些可移动离子。另一方面,目前的液晶显示器中都采用反转驱动方式,即像素电极的电位是正负交替变化的,则像素电极与公共电极之间也会交替出现正极性电压差和负极性电压差。
但是,正极性电压差与负极性电压差的大小不可能完全相等,这会造成驱动电压的波形中含有一定的直流成分。此时,液晶中的离子就会趋向于与该直流成分的极性相反的方向运动,正离子和负离子会分别移动至液晶面板的上取向膜和下取向膜,在液晶面板内部形成内电场。该内电场会影响液晶的排列和透射率,导致显示的画面出现残影的技术问题。
发明内容
本发明的目的在于提供一种显示装置及其驱动方法,以解决现有技术中由于内电场导致显示的画面出现残影的技术问题。
本发明提供一种显示装置,包括液晶面板、时序控制器和电压检测器;
所述电压检测器用于检测所述液晶面板的内电场;
所述时序控制器根据所述电压检测器的检测结果,调节并输出极性反转信号,以消除所述液晶面板的内电场。
优选的是,所述电压检测器连接所述液晶面板中的上取向膜和下取向膜。
优选的是,所述液晶面板为垂直排列型液晶面板。
进一步的是,所述时序控制器中设置有阈值;
所述时序控制器根据所述电压检测器的检测结果与所述阈值的大小关系,调节并输出极性反转信号,以消除所述液晶面板的内电场。
本发明还提供一种上述的显示装置的驱动方法:
所述时序控制器输出的极性反转信号为帧反转信号,并根据所述电压检测器的检测结果调节并输出帧反转信号,以消除所述液晶面板的内电场。
优选的是,所述检测结果为正性内电场的绝对值与负性内电场的绝对值的差值。
进一步的是,所述时序控制器中设置有阈值;
所述时序控制器根据所述检测结果与所述阈值的大小关系,调节并输出极性反转信号,以消除所述液晶面板的内电场。
进一步的是,当所述检测结果大于零且未达到所述阈值时,所述时序控制器在一组帧反转信号中增加内插一帧极性反转信号;
当所述检测结果达到所述阈值时,所述时序控制器在一组帧反转信号中增加两帧内插极性反转信号。
优选的是,所述一组帧反转信号中包括10至20个帧反转信号。
本发明带来了以下有益效果:本发明提供的显示装置中,通过设置电压检测器对液晶面板的内电场进行检测,并且时序控制器可以根据电压检测器的检测结果,调节并输出极性反转信号。当电压检测器检测到液晶面板的内电场较大时,时序控制器就能够对极性反转信号进行相应的调节并输出,以消除液晶面板的内电场,从而能够有效解决液晶显示装置显示的画面出现残影的技术问题。

为了更清楚地说明本发明实施例中的技术方案,下面将对实施例描述中所需要的附图做简单的介绍:

以下将结合附图及实施例来详细说明本发明的实施方式,借此对本发明如何应用技术手段来解决技术问题,并达成技术效果的实现过程能充分理解并据以实施。需要说明的是,只要不构成冲突,本发明中的各个实施例以及各实施例中的各个特征可以相互结合,所形成的技术方案均在本发明的保护范围之内。
本发明实施例提供一种显示装置,包括液晶面板、时序控制器(Timing Controller,简称T-CON)和电压检测器。其中,电压检测器用于检测液晶面板的内电场,时序控制器根据电压检测器的检测结果,调节并输出极性反转信号(Polarity inversion signal,简称POL),以消除液晶面板的内电场。
本实施例以垂直排列(Vertical Alignment,简称VA)型液晶面板为例进行说明。液晶面板主要包括阵列基板、彩膜基板,以及填充在阵列基板与彩膜基板之间的液晶,如图1所示,像素电极11和下取向膜12设置在阵列基板上,公共电极21和上取向膜22设置在彩膜基板上,上取向膜22与下取向膜12之间填充有液晶(图中未示出),而液晶中会存在一些可移动的离子。电压检测器3连接上取向膜22和下取向膜12,以检测上取向膜22与下取向膜12之间的电压差,即液晶面板的内电场。
本实施例中,在时序控制器中设置有阈值,时序控制器根据电压检测器3的检测结果与阈值的大小关系,调节并输出极性反转信号,以消除液晶面板的内电场,从而避免残影的出现。
本发明实施例还提供了上述的显示装置的驱动方法,以下详细描述时序控制器对极性反转信号的调节及输出方式:
本实施例中,时序控制器输出的极性反转信号为帧反转信号。如图2中的波形a所示,每一帧反转一次像素电极的电压的极性。从波形a中可以看出,所有的奇数帧(f1、f3、f5……f19)中像素电极的电压均为负极性,所有的偶数帧(f2、f4、f6……f20)中像素电极的电压均为正极性。
在奇数帧中,像素电极与公共电极之间形成负性电场,而液晶中的离子就会向与该负性电场相反的方向运动,所以其中的正离子会移动至下取向膜,负离子会移动至上取向膜。这些离子就形成了液晶面板的内电场,并且在奇数帧中形成的是正性内电场ΔV+。
在偶数帧中,像素电极与公共电极之间形成正性电场。基于相同的原理,液晶中的离子在偶数帧中会形成负性内电场ΔV-。
在本发明实施例提供的驱动方法中,时序控制器根据所述电压检测器的检测结果调节并输出帧反转信号,以消除所述液晶面板的内电场。其中的检测结果即为正性内电场的绝对值|ΔV+|与负性内电场的绝对值|ΔV-|的差值。
作为一个优选方案,在时序控制器中设置有阈值Vth,时序控制器根据电压检测器的检测结果与阈值的大小关系,调节并输出极性反转信号,以消除液晶面板的内电场,从而避免残影的出现。
假设在|ΔV+|>|ΔV-|的情况下,则以|ΔV+|-|ΔV-|作为检测结果。时序控制器就会根据|ΔV+|-|ΔV-|与Vth之间的大小关系,调节并输出极性反转信号。
本实施例中,时序控制器对极性反转信号的具体调节及输出方式为:
当检测结果大于零且未达到阈值时,即当(|ΔV+|-|ΔV-|)<Vth时,时序控制器在一组帧反转信号中增加内插一帧极性反转信号。其中,一组帧反转信号中通常包括10至20个帧反转信号,本实施例中20个帧反转信号作为一组帧反转信号。
如图2中的波形b所示,其中的第10帧(f10)与第11帧(f11)之间就内插了一帧极性反转信号,使得在第10帧和第11帧中,像素电极的电压连续呈正极性。由于在|ΔV+|>|ΔV-|的情况下,液晶面板的内电场为正性内电场,因此像素电极与公共电极之间在连续两帧中输出形成的正性电场就能够消除该正性内电场。
此外,在内插了极性反转信号之后,该组帧反转信号的总数变为了21个。并且,从第11帧开始,之后的奇数帧中像素电极与公共电极之间均形成正性电场,而偶数帧中像素电极与公共电极之间均形成负性电场。
当检测结果达到阈值时,即当(|ΔV+|-|ΔV-|)>Vth时,则表示内电场的强度较大,因此时序控制器在一组帧反转信号中增加两帧内插极性反转信号。
如图2中的波形c所示,其中的第8帧(f8)与第9帧(f9)之间内插了第一帧极性反转信号,第17帧(f17)与第18帧(f18)之间内插了第二帧极性反转信号。因此,在第8帧和第9帧中,以及第17帧和第18帧中,像素电极与公共电极之间均会形成连续两帧的正性电场,从而能够消除液晶面板的较强的正性内电场。
此外,在内插了两帧极性反转信号之后,该组帧反转信号的总数变为了22个。从第9帧开始,之后的奇数帧中像素电极与公共电极之间均形成正性电场,而偶数帧中像素电极与公共电极之间均形成负性电场。并且,从第18帧开始,之后的奇数帧中像素电极与公共电极之间有回复为负性电场,偶数帧中像素电极与公共电极之间也恢复为正性电场。
如果是在|ΔV+|<|ΔV-|的情况下,则以|ΔV-|-|ΔV+|作为电压检测器的检测结果。时序控制器就会根据|ΔV-|-|ΔV+|与Vth之间的大小关系,调节并输出极性反转信号。同时,由于此时的液晶面板中会形成负性内电场,所以时序控制器输出的内插极性反转信号也应当进行调整,使得像素电极与公共电极之间能够形成连续两帧的负性电场,从而能够消除液晶面板的负性内电场。
在其他实施方式中,也可以在时序控制器中设置更多个不同大小的阈值,从而将电压检测器的检测结果分为更多种的情况,并可以根据检测结果在一组帧反转信号中内插3帧或者更多帧极性反转信号,以便于更加精确、有效的消除液晶面板的内电场。
应当说明的是,上述的阈值的大小、数量,以及一组帧反转信号的数量,内插极性反转信号的数量等参数,都是根据不同液晶显示装置自身的型号、规格而设置的,因此以上各个参数都可以根据实际需要进行设置,而不限于本发明实施例描述的范围。

- 一种显示装置,包括液晶面板、时序控制器和电压检测器;所述电压检测器用于检测所述液晶面板的内电场;所述时序控制器根据所述电压检测器的检测结果,调节并输出极性反转信号,以消除所述液晶面板的内电场。
- 根据权利要求1所述的显示装置,其中,所述电压检测器连接所述液晶面板中的上取向膜和下取向膜。
- 根据权利要求1所述的显示装置,其中,所述液晶面板为垂直排列型液晶面板。
- 根据权利要求1所述的显示装置,其中,所述时序控制器中设置有阈值;所述时序控制器根据所述电压检测器的检测结果与所述阈值的大小关系,调节并输出极性反转信号,以消除所述液晶面板的内电场。
- 一种显示装置的驱动方法,所述显示装置包括液晶面板、时序控制器和电压检测器,所述电压检测器用于检测所述液晶面板的内电场;所述驱动方法为:所述时序控制器输出的极性反转信号为帧反转信号,并根据所述电压检测器的检测结果调节并输出帧反转信号,以消除所述液晶面板的内电场。
- 根据权利要求5所述的驱动方法,其中,所述电压检测器连接所述液晶面板中的上取向膜和下取向膜。
- 根据权利要求5所述的驱动方法,其中,所述液晶面板为垂直排列型液晶面板。
