Abstract

A contoured massage bed having a leatherette covered massage bed which could be mounted to a fixed or foldable table frame consisting of a plurality of combination/layers of various foams superposed to each other defining the face, arm, chest, stomach, butt and feet areas in order to produce a variety of effects of a range/degrees of softness or hardness on those mentioned different areas of the massage bed and which corresponds to the different parts of the body in both ventral and dorsal positions. These various foams and combinations and devices (garters, springs, etc.) are especially used in the area of the chest (for women, to avoid pain on their chest), stomach (for men, to avoid pressure for their bellies and groin) and this characteristic differentiate this massage bed from all others, and is one of the most important traits that cannot be found in other massage beds.

SPECIFICATION

A CONTOURED MASSAGE BED

FIELD OF THE INVENTION This invention relates in general to devices used in providing massages and similar therapies to people, and more particularly to a contoured massage bed.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

There are many different kinds of massage beds existing

nowadays. And although they were constructed to fulfil the user's needs of relaxation, experience dictates that more improvements are needed especially in the areas of the bed from where the sensitive chest area particularly of the females are located.

Furthermore, when the demand for the supply of massage bed runs out, users have no recourse but to waif for their turn and they feel fidget about it. And a solution is needed whereby a massage bed could be made convertible for use by both male and female.

Moreover, existing massage beds are fixed that it consume a lot of space when not needed.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

It is therefore the principal object of subject invention to provide for a contoured massage bed that uses a different combinations/layers of various foams in order to produce a variety of effects of range/degrees of softness or hardness in the different areas of the massage bed, and which corresponds to the different parts of the body in both ventral and dorsal positions. These various foams and combinations are especially used in the areas of the chest for women so that no pain on their chest is achieved, for men in the area of stomach to avoid the unwanted pressure on their bellies and groins. Another object of subject invention is to provide a contoured massage bed that has a removably mounted interchangeable foam in the area of the chest suited for the male and female users.

Still another object of subject invention is to provide for a contoured massage bed having contoured shapes in the areas of the arms and feet for greater relaxation.

Yet, another object of subject invention is to provide for a

contoured massage bed that is foldable consuming less space and could be carried to any desired place.

A further object of subject invention is to provide for a contoured massage bed that is fixed or unfolded.

Other objects and advantages of subject invention will come to light upon reading the following description taken in conjunction with the appended drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring now to the drawings in detail, wherein like numerals designate same parts throughout, there is shown in the drawings particularly in FIG. 1 , a contoured foldable massage bed of the preferred invention generally designated as 10, which includes a foldable fable frame 1 1 , and a leatherette covered massage bed 12 mounted on top of said frame 1 1.

As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, this foldable table frame 1 1 having first and second sections 13,14 respectively, which are made foldable along its centre by means of the hinge 15. On its opposed ends are respective foldable leg members 16 and 17 provided with pair of foldable support members 18 and 19 respectively. And respective strings 16a and 17a are connected thereto for providing firm stand and support to the latter against the ground in so far as the weight of the user is concerned.

This leatherette covered massage bed 12 as shown in FIGS. 7 and 10 consist of a plurality of combination/layers of various foams 20 superposed to each other defining the face areas 21 , opposed arms 22, and 22a, chest 23, stomach 24, buft 25, and feet 26.

This face area 21 that is being defined by an opening 21 a, has a contoured edges 27 for supporting the user's forehead, chin and sides of the face of the user.

The opposed arm area 22,22a which is disposed on opposed sides of said face area 21 has an opposed inclined surfaces 28, 29 adapted for resting the hand and elbow of the user.

This chest area 23 that is provided below said face area 21 is defined by removably mounted interchangeable foam 30. The stomach and butt areas 24 and 25 respectively that are provided below said chest area 21 are each being defined by a customized oppositely oriented egg crate foams 31 and 32 as shown in FIG. 10 for the desired firmness or softness of the levels of the foam to avoid pressure for their bellies and groin.

The said feet area 26 that is provided below said butt area 25 is defined by a downwardly projecting surface 26a for greater relaxation.

As shown in FIG. 8 this chest area 23 further having an opening 33 to where said removably mounted interchangeable foam 30 is held and supported underneath by a spacedly disposed garters 34 or springs for absorbing the force brought about by the weight of the chest as shown in FIGS. 9 and 10.

This removably mounted foam 30 as shown in FIGS. 8 and 10 is defined by a customized oppositely oriented egg crate foam 35 for female use to avoid pain on their chest.

However, for male use, since its breast is not too delicate as a women, the foam 36 is not too thick and supported below by a secured wooden stand 37.

FIG. 9 is provided underneath said removably mounted

interchangeable foam 30 and locked thereon by a wooden knob 39 and screw 40.

As shown in FIG. 4, the transverse end of said feet area 26 is provided with a female lock 41 while the transverse end of the face area 21 is provided with a male lock 42.

A handle 43 as shown in FIG. 1 1 is provided along the longitudinal portion of said butt area 25 for carrying this bed 10 in desired places supported by wheels 44 and 45 secured at the other opposite longitudinal portion of said butt area 25 and said face area 21 .

As shown in FIG. 12 is the other embodiment of subject invention that instead of being foldable it was made fixed or unfolded. It is made possible by having a fixed fable frame 1 1 a defined by a horizontal member to where a leatherette covered massage bed 12a are mounted having the same technical features as the above mentioned leatherette covered massage bed 12.

This fixed table frame 1 1 a includes four (4) leg members 46, 47, 48 and 49 to where a fixed fable fop 50 is secured to its one end and an oppositely secured braces 51 , 52 are to each other. And to provide firm stand to this fixed table top 50, a plurality of transverse braces 53 are then secured to these oppositely secured braces 51 ,52.

Claims

I CLAIM: 1 . A contoured massage bed comprising:

a table frame; and

a leatherette covered massage bed mounted on said table frame consisting of a plurality of combination/layers of various foams superposed to each other defining the face, arm, chest, stomach, butt and feet areas, said face area having a contoured edges for supporting the forehead, chin and sides of the face of the user; said arm area disposed on opposed sides of said face area and having opposed inclined surfaces for resting the hand and elbow of the user; said chest area provided below said face area defined by a removably mounted interchangeable foam for male or female user; said stomach and butt areas that are provided below said chest area, each being defined by a customized oppositely oriented egg crate foams for the desired firmness or softness of the levels of the foam by the user; and said feet area that is provided below said stomach area is defined by a downwardly projecting surface for greater relaxation of the user;

2. A contoured massage bed in accordance with claim 1 , wherein said chest area further having an opening to where said removably mounted interchangeable foam is held and supported underneath by a garter or springs for absorbing the force brought about by the weight of the chest of the user.

3. A contoured massage bed in accordance with claim 1 , wherein said removably mounted interchangeable foam is defined by customized oppositely oriented egg crate foam for female use.

4. A contoured massage bed in accordance with claim 1 , wherein said removably mounted interchangeable foam is further defined by foam supported by a wooden stand for male use.

5. A contoured massage bed in accordance with claim 1 , wherein said removably mounted interchangeable foam is held underneath by a support member defined by a wood and locked thereon by a wooden knob and screw.

6. A contoured massage bed in accordance with claim 1 , wherein said table frame having a pivotally connected first and second sections.

7. A contoured massage bed in accordance with claim 1 , wherein said table frame having a fixed table top.
