Description

Roller mechanism
The subject of the invention is a roller mechanism.
The state of the art knows roller mechanisms whose operation requires the use of another device, e.g. a screwdriver, which is detrimental to the simplicity and versatility of such mechanisms.
Patent application No. US 005671502A shows the roller mechanism which comprises two main components: internal and external component, wherein the external component consists of the outer housing and the internal element comprises a slidable body. The core of the mechanism is equipped, at the bottom, with a caster and, at the top, with a screw adjusting the advancement of the body. Additionally, the lower part of the body includes linear guides which prevent the mechanism from leaving its path.
The description of the solution US 2007/0062122 Al discloses a roller mechanism comprising two main components: internal and external, wherein the external component is the connecting member and the internal movable component is equipped with the caster. The internal movable component is finished at the top with a screw which adjusts the advancement of the mechanism and, at the bottom, with the L-shaped curved guide that prevents the mechanism from leaving its path. Additionally, the door equipped with the described bottom mechanism should be equipped with upper casters placed in the guide, so as to prevent tilting of the door to the sides. Patent description PL 187993 discloses a movable roller mechanism for sliding partitions which consists of the housing in which the body of the movable roller is slidably mounted, which is equipped with two pairs of hooks, characterised in that in its housing, whose wall is inclined at an acute angle relative to the base of the body, a movable roller is slidably mounted, whose front wall is inclined at the same acute angle as the wall of the housing, wherein the wall of the housing is connected to the housing of the adjustment screw, and on the upper part of the housing there is a flat strip finished, on the wall side, with an elongated pointer ended at the top with a round protrusion and from the side with a claw directed upwards.
From the application WO2012156340A1 there is known the invention which relates to a fitting for a sliding door, in particular for furniture, comprising at least one roller that is rotatably mounted on a holder, the holder being mounted displaceably relative to a mounting plate that can be secured to a sliding door, and further comprising an adjusting mechanism that is activate at least partially in the vertical direction in order to align the vertical position of the mounting plate relative to the holder. According to the invention, at least one activator that can be engaged with an automatic retracting means and/or a stop is fixed to the holder or to the adjusting mechanism.
Application WO2013073964A1 exposes a roller assembly comprising: a roller housing comprising first and second side walls and first and second end walls forming an enclosure; a carriage assembly comprising a carriage body and at least two carriage wheels rotatably attached to the carriage body, wherein the carriage assembly is located within the enclosure such that the at least two carriage wheels are arranged to protrude from the bottom of the enclosure during use; wherein the carriage body comprises a support portion and at least two concentric pivot points arranged to locate within slanted passages formed in the first and second side walls to allow the carriage body to rotatably pivot about the pivot points; an intermediate adjusting mechanism slidably engaged with the roller housing and arranged to move lengthwise within the enclosure, the intermediate adjusting mechanism comprising a first engagement surface located on an extending member, wherein the extending member extends in a direction substantially perpendicular to the lengthwise movement of the intermediate adjusting mechanism and the first engagement surface is arranged to engage with the support portion; and an adjustment mechanism that passes through an adjustment aperture formed in the first end wall, whereupon movement of the adjustment mechanism the intermediate adjusting mechanism is caused to move lengthwise within the enclosure, wherein the movement of the intermediate adjusting mechanism causes the carriage body to move along the slanted passage. From the application GB1053479A we know multiple swing door installations. In a set of six swinging glass doors the two end doors move about fixed pivots while the middle four are coupled together in pairs so that they may be moved in unison to a side of the door-way, with their respective upper and lower pivot axes adjacent. An upper endless chain is attached to the upper pivot of each of one pair of doors via brackets and a spring-operated door closer, while a lower chain moves the lower pivot via a longitudinal carriage member, the two chains being coupled together to move in unison by sprockets and a manually or electrically rotable shaft) at one side of the door way. The closed "inline" doors are stacked in an "out-of-the-way position" on rotation of the shaft and chains to roll each pair of doors on channel-track located wheels to the side of the doorway, adjacent the previously inwardly turned fixed door, when the sliding doors are swung to a parallel relation therewith. The pairs of doors may be moved via a single upper and lower chain assembly, in which case each pair of doors is attached to opposite sides thereof. In either case the doors are locked in the "out-of-the-way" position by locks let into the floor.
The application GB2182085A exposes a sliding door structure includes a door panel suspended from a rail (not shown) by two roller assemblies. Each roller assembly comprises a toothed wheel having an integral boss axially slotted to allow insertion into hole in the door panel. The boss locates in a recessed hole in leaf of a right angled bracket of which upper web lies flush along the top edge of the door panel such that leaf lies flush against one main surface of the panel thus securing the toothed wheel to the door panel in a slot defined by ears and leaf. A resilient leaf provides a tooth which engages with the toothed wheel to prevent rotation thereof. A roller stem having rollers on each end is located through an eccentric aperture in the boss. A tool is provided to adjust the toothed wheel thus altering the height relationship between the door panel and the rail on which the rollers run.
From the application GB2275715A there is known a support structure includes a one-piece body of plastics material with a first, horizontal, limb and a second, vertical, limb which form an L-shape so as to be able to enclose a portion of a corner of a panel of the door. A hole is provided for a shaft with a free distal end for supporting the roller and at least one aperture is provided for means for fixing the body to the door panel. The support structure preferably includes a bracket mountable on the upper edge of the panel and the body has associated means for adjusting its vertical position relative to the bracket and the panel.
The application GB2321661A exposes a roller assembly for a sliding door of the type that slides along a track, includes an anti-jump member engageable with the track, to prevent the roller from derailing. The roller assembly comprises a bracket adapted for attachment to the door, a roller mounting member slidably seated in the bracket, and a roller rotatably mounted on the roller mounting member, for travel along the track. The anti-jump member is displaceably carried by the roller mounting member for movement between an operative position, whereat it engages the track and a retracted position, whereat it does not engage the track. The roller assembly can allow the door to slide with the anti-jump member in either the operative position, or the retracted position.
From the application GB2338018A we know a wheeled top-guide for rolling movement of a door along a track having a first roller on a first axle in rolling engagement with one wall of a track; and a vertically oriented torsion member connected via a horizontal arm to a second axle and second roller. When the guide is inserted into a track a torque is induced in the torsion rod, said torque maintaining said rollers in firm rolling contact with the side walls of said track. In a preferred embodiment the same principle is applied to three rollers.
All of the solutions described above are characterised by very poor versatility of application due to the fact that their efficient operation requires the use of more than one device or the use of an additional tool so as to start the main device. The invention relates to a roller mechanism which consists of the rectangular housing with protrusions on the sides, equipped with lugs bent outward and with openings, wherein the housing is equipped with the slidably mounted movable roller, and the inner body is mounted in the guides which consists of the core with the tension spring connected to the housing, and the trigger pivotally connected to the housing and the core by means of spacers and bolts, and the backstop mechanism, wherein all the elements of the device are arranged axially relative to each other. Preferably, the housing is made of steel.
Preferably, the fastening lugs are located in the lower part of the housing. Preferably, the components of the roller mechanism are made of hot-dip galvanised steel. The main advantage of the subject of the invention is its versatility. The device according to the invention has broad applicability as a universal roller mechanism that can be used in various types of sliding doors. The device is made of galvanised steel components, which guarantees rigidity and stability of the structure. The invention is a substantial improvement over standard solutions, as it introduces the possibility of one-handed use, while maintaining the ability to lock the system.
The invention is shown as an embodiment in figures, in which Fig. 1 shows an axonometric view of the roller mechanism from the front, Fig. 2 shows an axonometric view of the universal roller mechanism from the rear, Fig.
3 shows a cross section of the roller mechanism in the tense position, Fig.
4 shows a cross section of the roller mechanism in the slack position, Fig. 5 shows a cross section of the roller mechanisnn in the tense position with a view of the individual components of the device, Fig. 6 shows an elevation view of the front of the roller mechanism in the tense position, Fig. 7 shows an elevation view of the side of the roller mechanism in the tense position, Fig. 8 shows an elevation view of the rear of the roller mechanism in the tense position, Fig. 9 shows an elevation view of the front of the roller mechanism in the slack position, Fig. 10 shows an elevation view of the side of the roller mechanism in the slack position, Fig. 11 shows an elevation view of the rear of the roller mechanism in the slack position, Fig. 12 shows the top view of the roller mechanism, Fig. 13 shows the bottom view of the roller mechanism, Fig. 14 shows an axonometric schematic view of the roller mechanism, Fig. 15 shows an axonometric view of a wall with the roller mechanism, Fig. 16, shows a cross section and elevation view of a wall with the roller mechanism.
The invention in the embodiment according to Fig. 1 comprises the steel housing 1, which is a rectangular element with a cut in the middle and on the sides together with bent-outward mounting lugs 12 at the bottom. The mounting lugs 12 are equipped with machined openings 13 and connect the device with the door 14. The housing 1 is equipped with the slidably mounted movable roller 3 coupled with the inner core 2 by steel bolts 4 - on the device axis - and the rack 15. The walls of the main housing 1 and the body slide against each other so as to allow vertical movement of the components. The inner core 2 of the mechanism is equipped with the tension spring 9 which connects the housing 1 with the core 2 of the device. The movable inner body is actuated by a tensioning trigger 5, which acts in the direction opposite to the tension spring 9. The trigger 5 is permanently fixed to the housing 1 of the device and pivotally connected to the inner core 2 by means of spacers 6 and bolts 8 and 7. When the trigger is raised, the inner body 2 together with the movable roller 3 and the reinforcement of the door 14 at the given guides 16 lower. The mechanism is locked by means of a backstop system 10 connected to the outer housing 1 with a mounting bolt 16, which, if the central component 2 is set in motion via the tensioning trigger 5, skips into the next dent in the rack 15 and stops the device in the desired position. All the components of the device are arranged axially relative to each other.
