Description

DIGITAL DEVICE
TECHNICAL FIELD
[0001] The present invention relates to computer and communication equipment and, more particularly to a combination of functionality of disparate equipments.
BACKGROUND
[0002] Our lives and habits have changed dramatically during the past three decades. Most of these changes can be contributed to computing and communication digital
technology advances. Smart phones are becoming more
powerful with more capabilities and storages day by day and most people have migrated from being standard mobile phone users to smart phones.
[0003] Another trend is the shift from desktop computers to laptop and tablets. Larger smart phones, that is a cross between smart phones and tablets, are gaining some
popularity. Having a smart phone usually does not remove the need for tablets or laptops. It is a familiar scene to see people owning at least two forms of these devices if not all of them.
[0004] The investment in owning phone, tablet, laptop etc together is usually high and the logistics of having different items of equipment can be a headache as well. On the other hand, today' s smart phones are more potent than the best desktops of a decade ago and future smart phones are expected to be still more powerful and potent than today's laptops and at parity with laptops then current.
[0005] Operating systems that once were very different for phones, tablets and computers, are becoming closer and migrating to application based ones. There have been some efforts to convert smart phones and tablets to become more like laptops in appearance by developing cases and
keyboards etc, but none have really gained wide acceptance. [0006] It is an object of the present invention
address or at least ameliorate some of the above
disadvantages or provide a useful alternative.
Notes
[0007] The term "comprising" (and grammatical variations thereof) is used in this specification in the inclusive sense of "having" or "including", and not in the exclusive sense of "consisting only of".
[0008] The above discussion of the prior art in the Background of the invention, is not an admission that any information discussed therein is citable prior art or part of the common general knowledge of persons skilled in the art in any country.
[0009] The term "smart phone" as used in this
specification, refers to a mobile phone device which incorporates a display/touch screen no matter of the size, microprocessor/s and data storage, operating system, applications and other softwares and ports. The term "smart phone" as used in this specification also includes the same devices without sim cards.
[00010] The term "application" as used in this
specification, refers to a piece of software resident in the memory of a smart phone.
[00011] The term "phablet" as used in this specification refers to an integrated device incorporating smart phone communication functionality with a keyboard and display screen .
