Description

A LAUNDRY WASHING OR WASHING-DRYING MACHINE
This invention relates to a washing or washing-drying machine comprising a drawer.
Before the washing process, dirty laundry is collected in a space of the house and are washed once it reaches a certain amount. When the laundry is removed from the machine, an additional receptacle is needed to carry them. In the washing machines with a drying function, drying of the laundry after being washed can be sometimes possible only in two or more parts. In this case, some of the clean laundry is held outside. Both holding of clean laundry outside and collecting of dirty laundry in a space of the house lead to a problem in terms of hygiene. Moreover, the receptacles used to carry the laundry removed from the machine, to hold the laundry or to collect dirty laundry cause space problem in small houses.
In the state of the art European Patent Document No. EP1577434, a washing machine comprising a laundry placement receptacle is disclosed.
The aim of the present invention is to realize a washing or washing-drying machine incorporating a laundry receptacle.
The washing or washing-drying machine realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof comprises a body having a drum in which the laundry is washed/dried and a drawer that is disposed at the lower side of the body and that has a basket suitable for the placement of the laundry.
In the washing or washing-drying machine of the present invention, the drawer positioned at the level of the door when pulled forward. A basket suitable for filling with the wet laundry is disposed in the drawer.. The depth of the basket increases when filled with the laundry.
In an embodiment of the present invention, when filled with the laundry the depth of the basket may be greater than the height of the side walls thereof.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the washing or washing-drying machine comprises below the drawer a second drawer having an inner receptacle suitable for filling with dry or dirty laundry.
In an embodiment of the present invention, a frame is disposed on the drawer and a movement mechanism on the frame that enables the user to set the height of the basket. The movement mechanism enables a cord attached to the base of the basket to be pulled up by means of at least one pulley and a control button or enables the volume of the basket to be increased with the cord being extended downwards.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the basket on the drawer can be easily attached and detached by the user.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the basket is produced from an elastomeric material.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the basket is produced from a fibrous material.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the frame comprises a handle that enables the user to carry the basket easily.
In an embodiment of the present invention, a plate is disposed on the base of the basket. By means of the said plate, the basket acquires a more durable and rigid structure.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the plate disposed on the base of the basket is produced from a hydrophilic material.
In an embodiment of the present invention, an inner receptacle is provided that can be fitted to and detached from the second drawer. Thus, it becomes easier to place the dry laundry or to collect the dirty laundry.
In an embodiment of the present invention, at least one separator that prevents mixing of different kinds of laundry with one another is provided on the basket and the inner receptacle.

The washing or washing-drying machine (1) comprises a body (2); a drum (3) that is disposed on the body (2) wherein the laundry is placed to wash or dry; a door (4) that is disposed on the body (2) and that enables the user to access the drum (3); a drawer (5) that is disposed at the lower side of the body (2) and that opens when pulled forward, and a basket (6) that is disposed inside the drawer (5) and wherein the laundry removed from the drum (3) is placed. By means of the basket (6) disposed inside the drawer (5), the need for an additional receptacle to place the laundry removed from the drum (3) is eliminated.
The washing or washing-drying machine (1) of the present invention comprises a laundry storage unit (7) that comprises a drawer (5) in the form of a frame with open top and bottom and a basket (6) wherein the laundry is filled, of which the depth and hence the volume occupied in the drawer (5) changes depending on the amount of the laundry filled therein. When empty, the depth of the basket (6) does not exceed the height of the side walls of the drawer (5). Thus, the basket (6) is easily placed into the washing or washing-drying machine (1) to save from space.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the washing or washing-drying machine (1) comprises the basket (6) of which the depth becomes greater than the side walls of the drawer (5) when filled with the laundry. By means of the open bottom (frame form) of the drawer (5), the base (11) of the basket (6) moves downward depending on the amount of laundry filled into the basket (6).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the washing or washing-drying machine (1) comprises the laundry storage unit (7) comprising a second drawer (9) that is disposed below the drawer (5) and that has an inner receptacle (8) wherein the dirty or dry laundry is collected. Collection of the dirty laundry in the second drawer (9) eliminates the need for an additional dirty laundry receptacle. Moreover, the laundry dried by the washing or washing-drying machine (1) can be easily placed into the inner receptacle (8) disposed in the second drawer (9).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the washing or washing-drying machine (1) comprises the laundry storage unit (7) having a frame (10) that is disposed on the basket (6) and that enables the placement of the basket (6) in the drawer (5); a base (11) that is disposed on the basket (6); and a movement mechanism (16) comprising at least one pulley (12) that is disposed on the frame (10); at least one control button (13) that is disposed on the frame (10) at the same level with the pulley (12); at least one rail (14) whereon the control button (13) moves, and at least one cord (15) with one end attached to the base (11) and the other end passed from the pulley (12) to be attached to the control button (13), wherein the movement mechanism (16) enables the shape of the basket (6) to be changed by the user by means of the cord (15) attached to the base (11) by triggering the control button (13). When the user triggers the control button (13), the cord (15) attached to the base (11) extends and contracts by means of the pulleys (12) and thus adjusts the depth of the basket (6). By means of the movement mechanism (16), the depth of the basket (6) can be easily changed by the user depending on the amount of the laundry.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the washing or washing-drying machine (1) comprises the basket (6) that can be removed from over the drawer (5). After putting the laundry into the basket (6), the user removes and easily carries the basket (6).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the washing or washing-drying machine (1) comprises the basket (6) produced from an elastomeric material. By means of the elastomeric material, the basket (6) stretches as the load contained therein grows and thus the depth thereof increases.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the washing or washing-drying machine (1) comprises the basket (6) produced from a fibrous material.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the washing or washing-drying machine (1) comprises the basket (6) having a handle (17) disposed on the frame (10). When the user desires to remove the basket (6) from over the drawer (5), he/she can easily carry the basket (6) by means of the handle (17).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the washing or washing-drying machine (1) comprises a plate (18) that is disposed on the base (11) and that gives rigidity to the basket (6). By means of the hard structure of the plate (18), the base (11) becomes rigid, thus allowing easier use of the basket (6).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the washing or washing-drying machine (1) comprises the plate (18) produced from a hydrophilic material. The wet laundry is put into the basket (6) disposed on the drawer (5). The plate (18) disposed on the base (11) of the basket (6) is produced from a material with hydrophilic property which prevents development of unpleasant odor.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the washing or washing-drying machine (1) comprises the inner receptacle (8) that can be removed from over the second drawer (9). Removing of the inner receptacle (8) from over the second drawer (9) gives great convenience to the user for the placement of the laundry dried by the machine (1) and eliminates the need for an additional receptacle.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the laundry storage unit (7) comprises the basket (6) and/or the inner receptacle (8) having at least one separator (19) which prevents mixing of different kinds of laundry with each other. The separator (19) can be moved inside the basket (6) and/or the inner receptacle (8) by the user. Thus, the volume of the basket (6) and/or the inner receptacle (8) can be divided into compartments depending on the volume of the laundry.
By means of the washing or washing-drying machine (1) of the present invention the laundry storage unit (7) wherein the laundry can be easily placed is provided. By means of the laundry storage unit (7), the need for receptacles to collect the dirty laundry or to put the washed laundry removed from the machine (1) is eliminated.

Claims (12)

  1. A washing or washing-drying machine (1) comprising a body (2); a drum (3) that is disposed on the body (2) wherein the laundry is placed to wash or dry; a door (4) that is disposed on the body (2) and that enables the user to access the drum (3); a drawer (5) that is disposed at the lower side of the body (2) and that opens when pulled forward, characterized by a laundry storage unit (7) that comprises a drawer (5) in the form of a frame with open top and bottom and a basket (6) wherein the laundry is filled, of which the depth and hence the volume occupied in the drawer (5) changes depending on the amount of the laundry filled therein.
  2. A washing or washing-drying machine (1) as in Claim 1, characterized by the basket (6) the depth of which can be greater than the height of the side walls of the drawer (5) when filled with the laundry.
  3. A washing or washing-drying machine (1) as in Claim 1 or Claim 2, characterized by the laundry storage unit (7) comprising a second drawer (9) that is disposed below the drawer (5) and that has an inner receptacle (8) wherein the dirty or dry laundry is collected.
  4. A washing or washing-drying machine (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by the laundry storage unit (7) having a frame (10) that is disposed on the basket (6) and that enables the placement of the basket (6) in the drawer (5); a base (11) that is disposed on the basket (6); and a movement mechanism (16) comprising at least one pulley (12) that is disposed on the frame (10); at least one control button (13) that is disposed on the frame (10) at the same level with the pulley (12); at least one rail (14) whereon the control button (13) moves, and at least one cord (15) with one end attached to the base (11) and the other end passed from the pulley (12) to be attached to the control button (13), wherein the movement mechanism (16) enables the shape of the basket (6) to be changed by the user by means of the cord (15) attached to the base (11) by triggering the control button (13).
  5. A washing or washing-drying machine (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by the basket (6) that can be removed from over the drawer (5).
  6. A washing or washing-drying machine (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by the basket (6) that is produced from an elastomeric material.
  7. A washing or washing-drying machine (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by the basket (6) that is produced from a fibrous material.
  8. A washing or washing-drying machine (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by the basket (6) comprising a handle (17) disposed on the frame (10).
  9. A washing or washing-drying machine as in any one of the above claims, characterized by a plate (18) that is disposed on the base (11) and that gives rigidness to the to the basket (6).
  10. A washing or washing-drying machine (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by the plate (18) that is produced from a hydrophilic material.
  11. A washing or washing-drying machine (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by the inner receptacle (8) that can be removed from over the second drawer (9).
  12. A washing or washing-drying machine (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by the basket (6) and/or the inner receptacle (8) comprising at least one separator (19) that prevents mixing of different kinds of laundry with each other.
