Description

Description of Patent of Industrial Invention having title:
"DEVICE FOR THE MOVEMENT AND THE SUPPORT OF SUPPORT AND
CONTAINMENT ELEMENTS OF A FURNITURE"
TECHNICAL FILED OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a device for the movement and support of at least one support and containment element for a corner cabinet having a non-directly accessible corner.
In particular, the present invention relates to a device for the movement and support of at least one support and containment element for corner cabinet comprising first arm means and second arm means associated to the at least one support and containment element in order to guide the movement thereof between a first position, internal to the cabinet, and a second position, external to the cabinet and vice versa.
STATE OF THE ART
With reference to furniture, and in particular to kitchen cabinets, it is known the use of shaped shelves or containers for the support and containment of products of different type, the shelves or containers being movable by means of articulated mechanisms or actuation means, which allow the movement, from the cabinet inside to the outside thereof, and vice versa.
In particular, such mechanisms are used inside corner cabinet showing an offset opening for accessing the inside of the cabinet itself wherein, de facto, a corner is non-directly accessible.
Such mechanisms allow an articulated movement of the shelf or container, facilitating the extraction/insertion thereof through the offset opening, in order to make the products supported therein straightforwardly accessible, which products, otherwise, could not be easily reached.
European patent EP 2 174 568 Bl, in the name of the same Applicant, describes a device for moving support and containment elements in a corner cabinet, comprising at least one mechanism having guides articulated with each other and fixed in a rotatable way to a support column. Such device is configured to move one or more support and containment elements, independently from one other, from a withdrawal area, provided outside the cabinet, to a resting area, inside the cabinet, and vice versa.
The support column is arranged inside the cabinet and fixable to fixed portions thereof, thereby acting as support element for the single articulated guide mechanisms and the respective support and containment elements associated thereto.
Such devices allow an effective movement and support of the support and containment elements of a corner cabinet.
In the field, the need is felt to provide for devices for the movement and support of support and containment elements for corner cabinet in the context of a technical solution whose manufacturing cost is lower than that of movement devices cited above, in order to offer such devices also for cabinets having a medium or low equipment level.
In view of such need, in the field it is felt the need to reduce the production costs of similar movement devices, still guarantying an effective functioning thereof, in order to keep the total cost of a corner cabinet equipped with one or more of such devices low. As it is known, the use of movement devices for support and containment elements in corner cabinets shows the clear advantage of facilitating the access to products placed on such support and containment elements which, usually, would be difficult to reach. European patent EP 1 616 503 Bl describes a device for moving and supporting support and containment elements comprising a first and a second arm hinged to the support and containment element, at a first end thereof, in a respective first and second rotation point. The first and second arm, in turn, are hinged at the respective second end thereof, opposite to the first end, to walls of the corner cabinet.
During the extraction of the support and containment element, and in particular close to the reaching of the extraction final position, a movement device thereby configured requires a pronounced rotation of the support and containment element, such that a lateral shift of the same occurs from the offset opening, away therefrom.
This is a drawback since the support and containment element, when the extraction final position is reached, is placed laterally offset with respect to the cabinet itself, it can become a hindrance and prevent the access to further cabinets laterally placed aside with the corner cabinet itself.
The need is felt to provide for a support and movement device for a support and containment element for a corner cabinet which, as part of a solution comprising a limited number of components, is able to guide the support and containment element in such a way that this latter, at the end of the extraction thereof, is prevented from being an obstacle and limits or forbids the access to further cabinets placed side by side with the corner cabinet.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
Thus, the main object of the present invention is that of improving the state of the art with reference to a device for moving and supporting support and containment elements for corner cabinets.
Another object of the present invention is that of providing a device for movement and support of at least one support and containment element for a corner cabinet between a position internal to the corner cabinet and an position external to the same, as part of a solution having low manufacturing costs.
One further object of the present invention is that of providing a device for the movement and support of support and containment elements for a corner cabinet, presenting an overall simple design having a reduced number of components.
Another object of the present invention is that of providing a device for the movement and support of at least one support and containment element which is easy to install inside a corner cabinet.
In accordance with one aspect of the present invention a device for the movement and support of at least one support and containment element for a corner cabinet is provided, according to claim 1.
According to another aspect of the present invention, the above device for the movement and support of at least one support and containment element for a corner cabinet is configures to be installable both in a corner cabinet provided with an offset opening on the right, and in a corner cabinet provided with an offset opening on the left, without requiring any structural modification of the same device for movement and support.
In accordance with a further aspect of the present invention a corner cabinet is provided comprising at least one device for movement and support of at least one support and containment element, according to claim 19.
Dependent claims refer to preferred and advantageous forms of the invention.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Further features and advantages of the present invention will be more evident from the detailed description of a non-exclusive preferred embodiment of a device for the movement and support of at least one support and containment element for a corner cabinet, given for indicative, but not limitative, purpose in the accompanying tables of drawings, wherein:

figure 2 is a perspective view from below of a device for the movement and support of at least one support and containment element of figure 1 ;
figure 3 is a perspective view from above of a device for the movement and support of at least one support and containment element, arranged in a second position; figure 4 is a perspective view of a detail of the device for the movement and support of at least one support and containment element according to the present invention; and
figures 5 to 9 are schematic plan view showing a movement sequence of the device for the movement and support of at least one support and containment element according to the present invention, between a position internal to the corner cabinet and a position external the corner cabinet itself.
EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION
With reference to the enclosed figures, a device for the movement and support of a support and containment element according to the present invention is overall indicated with the reference number 1.
The device for the movement and support 1, hereafter indicated simply as movement device, is fixable on the lower side of a support and containment element 2, for example a shelf or a basket or a similar element, of a corner cabinet 3, in order to be able to move it from an internal position (see figure 5) to a position external to the corner cabinet 3 itself (see figure 9), and vice versa.
The support and containment element 2, being able to be almost totally moved outside the corner cabinet 3, facilitates the access to the products placed therein.
With the term corner cabinet it is intended to refer to a cabinet having an offset opening for accessing the inside of the cabinet itself. A corner cabinet thereby configured is used at a corner in a furniture composition, such as a kitchen, in order to use the space present therein.
A corner cabinet 3 comprising at least one device 1 for the movement of a support and containment element 2 is also object of the present invention.
In the enclosed figures a single support and containment element 2 is shown. However, inside the corner cabinet 3 more than one support and containment element 2 can be foreseen, associated to a respective movement device 1, placed one above the other depending on the needs of the user and the height of the corner cabinet 3 itself.
In the enclosed figures, except for figure 4, the support and containment element 2 is shown with a dashed line, for a better understanding of the present invention.
The dimensions of the support and containment element 2 are optimized based on the plan dimensions of the space inside the corner cabinet 3 and the offset opening, so as to obtain a support shelf as large as possible.
In the case where inside the corner cabinet 3 more support and containment elements 2 are foreseen, the same elements can be configured to be moved at the same time or independently from each other, without any limitation.
With reference to the enclosed figures, a corner cabinet 3 can have a couple of lateral walls 4, 5 opposite to each other, one frontal, in use, wall 6 and one rear, in use, wall 7, which extend from a base 8 and delimit a space inside the corner cabinet 3 itself.
As said, a corner cabinet 3 has an offset opening 9 obtained in the frontal wall 6.
The offset opening 9 identifies a vertical plane 10 for accessing the inside of the corner cabinet 3. At the offset opening 9 a door 11 can be mo ably associated for closing the same.
In the description that follows, for exemplary but non limiting purpose, reference will be made to a corner cabinet 3 comprising a single support and containment element 2. The support and containment element 2 is supported and associate to a corner cabinet 3 by means of a movement device 1. In particular, the support and containment element 2 is supported by first arm means 12 and second arm means 13 and hinged to the same as better disclosed below.
To this regard, it is to be noted that the support and containment element 2 is lowerly hinged to the first arm means 12 at a first connection point 14, and to the second arm means 13, in a second connection point 15. The first connection point 14 and the second connection point 15 are placed along the support and containment element 2, distal from one another.
More in detail, it is observed that the support and containment element 2 is rotatable with respect to the first arm means 12 around a vertical first axis of rotation 16 passing through the first connection point 14.
In the same way, the support and containment element 2 is rotatable with respect to the second arm means 13 around a vertical second axis of rotation 17 passing through the second connection point 15.
The first arm means 12 are in turn connected to the inside of the corner cabinet 3 through a support 18, while the second arm means 13 are articulated inside the corner cabinet 3 through support means 20, as will be better described below.
The first arm means 12 and the second arm means 13 mutually cooperate in order to support and guide the at least one support and containment element 2 associated thereto.
It is observed that the trajectory covered by the support and containment element 2 during its extraction/insertion from/in the corner cabinet 3 can vary based on the configuration of the first arm means 12 and the second arm means 13 and the mutual position inside the corner cabinet 3 itself, as better clarified in the description below.
The first arm means 12 are hinged to support 18, rotatable around a third axis of rotation
19.
According to one version of the present invention, the first connection point 14 and the third axis of rotation 19 can be positioned at the opposed ends of the first arm means 12. The support 18, in turn, is associable to one corner cabinet 3 internal portion, close to the offset opening 9 by means of removable connection means, not shown in the figures.
According to one version of the present invention, the support 18 can be fixed inside the corner cabinet 3 by screws or other fixing means.
In particular, support 18 can be fixed to the frontal wall 6, adjacent to the offset opening 9 and parallel with respect to the latter.
The support means 20 can be fixed inside the corner cabinet 3, close to the offset opening 9 in a position - with respect to the same offset opening 9 - opposite to the installation position of support 18. In particular, the support means 20 can be associated to the lateral wall 5, adjacent to the offset opening 9 and orthogonal with respect to the vertical plane 10.
According to one version of the present invention, the second arm means 13 can comprise a first rod 21 , a second rod 22 and a third rod 23 connected with each other at respective connection points.
More in detail, the second rod 22 can be hinged, at a first end thereof, to the first rod 21, and at a second end, opposite to the first, to the support means 20.
Likewise, the third rod 23 can be hinged, at a first end thereof, to the first rod 21, and at a second end, opposite to the first, to the support means 20.
It is observed that the second rod 22 and the third rod 23 can be hinged to the first rod 21 at respective connection point, distinct from one another.
Moreover, the second rod 22 and the third rod 23 can be hinged to the support means 20 at respective connection points, different from one another.
With reference to the above, the second arm means 13 together with the support means 20 form an articulated quadrilateral structure.
In particular, a movement device 1 thereby configured allows an articulated movement of the support and containment element 2 to which it is associated.
The articulated quadrilateral structure 13, 20 shows a fourth movable axis of rotation 24, passing through the connection point between the second rod 22 and the first rod 21 , and a fifth fixed rotation axis 25, passing through the connection point between the second rod 22 and the support means 20.
Moreover, the articulated quadrilateral structure 13, 20 shows a sixth movable axis of rotation 26, passing through the connection point between the third rod 23 and the first rod 21, and a seventh fixed axis of rotation 27, passing through the connection point between the third rod 23 and the support means 20.
It is observed that the axes of rotation 16, 17, 19, 24, 25, 26 and 27 are directed substantially parallel with each other.
In the movement device 1 , during the movement of support and containment element 2, the first axis of rotation 16 associated to the first arm means 12, the second axis of rotation 17, the forth axis of rotation 24 and the sixth axis of rotation 26, associated to the second arm means 13, move reciprocally and with respect to the corner cabinet 3. The remaining axes, and more particularly the third axis of rotation 19, which is associated to support 18, the fifth axis of rotation 25 and the seventh axis of rotation 27 which are associated to support means 20, are fixed reciprocally and with respect to the corner cabinet 3.
As said, the articulated quadrilateral structure 13, 20, together with the first arm means 12, guides the support and containment element 2 during the extraction/insertion movement of the latter from/in the corner cabinet 3, along an articulated trajectory.
More specifically, the first arm means 12 guide the first connection point 14 and, accordingly, the first axis of rotation 16 associated thereto, along one circumference arc trajectory.
The length of such circumference arc trajectory is function of the distance to which the first connection point 14 - and thus the first axis of rotation 16 - and the third axis of rotation 19 are placed.
The articulated quadrilateral structure 13, 20, instead, guides the second connection point 15 - and thus the second axis of rotation 17 - along one articulated trajectory. According to one version of the present invention, the articulated quadrilateral structure 13, 20 can be configured to guide the second connection point 15 along one trajectory comprising subsequent portions with radii of curvature different from one another.
According to another version of the present invention, the articulated quadrilateral structure 13, 20 can be configured for guiding the second connection point 15 along an articulated trajectory comprising both curvilinear portions, having radii of curvature different from one another, and substantially rectilinear portions.
In the movement device 1 according to the present invention, the articulated quadrilateral structure 13, 20 guides the second connection point 15 along one trajectory whose length can be greater than the one that could be covered by the same connection point 15, in case this latter is associated to the corner cabinet 3, by means of a single rotating arm.
It is observed that the articulated quadrilateral structure 13, 20, unlike a single movement and support rotating arm, can guide the second connection point 15 outside the corner cabinet 3, beyond the vertical plane 10, for a long tract.
In this way, the support and containment element 2 associated to the corner cabinet 3 by means of the articulated quadrilateral structure 13, 20 and the first arm means 12, can exit the offset opening 9 and externally extend beyond the vertical plane 10, for a distance greater with respect to the case wherein the support and containment element 2 is connected to the comer cabinet 3 by means of two simple rotatable arms.
In the movement device 1 , the support and containment element 2 connects with each other the first arm means 12 with the second arm means 13, maintaining the first axis of rotation 16 and the second axis of rotation 17 at the same distance both during the extraction step and the insertion step.
With reference to the above, during the extraction/insertion of the support and containment element 2, the first connection point 14 and the second connection point 15 cover different trajectories, causing the articulated movement of the support and containment element 2 relative to the corner cabinet.
The trajectory covered from the support and containment element 2, and in particular, its extraction position from the corner cabinet 3 can be changed by varying the configuration of the movement device 1, with reference to the shape of the first arm means 12 and/or the second arm means 13.
By way of example, with reference to the second arm means 13, it is possible to modify the length of one or more between the first rod 21 , the second rod 22, the third rod 23, with respect to those shown in the enclosed figures.
Accordingly, the movement device 1 according to the present invention can be used to allow the support and containment element 2 to have an extraction position from the corner cabinet 3 different with respect to that shown, for exemplary purpose, in figure 9. In the enclosed figures 5-9 it is shown a movement scheme for a support and containment element 2 associated to a movement device 1 according to the present invention.
The support and containment element 2 is shown in figure 5, placed totally inside the corner cabinet 3.
In figure 9, instead, the support and containment element 2 is shown externally leaning through the vertical plane 10 of the corner cabinet 3.
Figures 6-8 show the intermediate steps of the support and containment element 2 movement between the two end positions.
As said, the second arm means 13 are associated to the corner cabinet 3 by means of support means 20.
According to one version of the present invention, the support means 20 can comprise at least one bracket 28, to which the second rod 22 and the third rod 23 can be hinged at respective connection points.
The at least one bracket 28 can be fixed inside the corner cabinet 3, close to the offset opening 4.
According to a further version of the present invention, the support means 20 can comprise, in addition to the at least one bracket 28, at least one fixing plate 29 associable internally to the corner cabinet 3.
The at least one bracket 28 and the at least one fixing plate 29 are configured to be connected with each other by suitable connection means, not shown in the enclosed figures, such as for example screws.
According to a further version of the present invention, the at least one bracket 28 and the at least one fixing plate 29 could be reciprocally connected by snap connection means, not shown in the enclosed figures.
The at least one fixing plate 29 acts as a support for the at least one bracket 28, in order to facilitate the connection of the latter and the second arm means 13 associated thereto, inside the corner cabinet 3.
To this regard, it is observed that, according to one version of the present invention, the at least one fixing plate 29 can comprise an abutment element 30, to facilitate the positioning and adjustment thereof, along the lateral wall 5 adjacent to the offset opening 9 (see figure 3).
According to a further version of the present invention, not shown in the figures, the support means 20 can comprise a couple of brackets 28, fixable inside the corner cabinet 3 and mutually distanced.
According to such version, the second rod 22 is hinged to a first bracket 28, rotatable around the fifth axis of rotation 25, and the third rod 23 is hinged to a second bracket 28, rotatable around the seventh axis of rotation 27.
Analogously to what described above, each bracket 28 can be directly connected to the lateral wall 5 of the corner cabinet 3 or by means of respective fixing plates 29.
In turn, each fixing plate 29 can comprise abutments for performing longitudinal adjustments of the fastening.
According to a further aspect of the present invention, the movement device 1 is configured to be associable to both a corner cabinet provided with an offset opening 9 close to a first lateral wall 4, and to a corner cabinet mirror-likely configured with respect to the previous one, and provided with an offset opening 9 close to a second lateral wall 5, opposite to the first lateral wall 4.
In practice, the movement device 1 can be assembled in a first configuration or in a second mirror-like configuration with respect to the first, without requiring any structural modification of its components.
It is observed that the support and containment element 2 is associated to the movement device 1 by means of connection means of removable type.
As said, the at least one support and containment element 2 is hinged to the movement device 1 at a first connection point 14 and a second connection point 15.
According to one embodiment, the connection between the at least one support and containment element 2 and the movement device 1 can be obtained below the support and containment element 2.
In particular, the movement device 1 can comprise a first pin 31 and a second pin 32 associable below the support and containment element 2, at the first connection point 14 and the second connection point 15, respectively.
The first pin 31 is engageable in a first through seat 33 obtained in the first arm means 12.
In the same way, the second pin 32 is engageable in a second through seat 34 obtained in the second arm means 13.
In particular, the first through seat 33 can be obtained along the first arm means 12 at the free end opposite to that hinged to support 18.
Analogously, with reference to the second arm means 13, the second through seat 34 can be obtained at the free end of the first rod 21, opposite to the connection point between the third rod 23 and the first rod 21 itself.
However, the first through seat 33 and/or the second through seat 34, respectively, can be obtained along the first arm means 12 and/or the second arm means 13 at different points with respect to what described above or what shown in the enclosed figures. According to one version of the present invention, the first pin 31 and the second pin 32 once engaged in the respective through seats 33, 34 can extend externally therefrom for a portion.
To this regard, the movement device 1 can comprise retention means 35 configured to axially hold the first pin 31 and the second pin 32, inside the first through seat 33 and the second through seat 34 respectively, and prevent that they can accidentally slip off. According to one version of the present invention, the retention means 35 can be configured as a fork element 36 or similar, provided with a portion having a substantially "U"-shaped end, designed for engaging along the portion of the first pin 31 and/or the second pin 32 extending from the first through seat 33 and/or the second through seat 34.
The retention means 35 act as abutment and as axial blocking means for the first pin 31 and/or the second pin 32 when these latter are engaged respectively in the first through seat 33 and/or the second through seat 34.
According to one version of the present invention, each pin 31, 32 can present at the free end which, in use, can extend from the first and/or second through seat 33, 34, an annular seat, not shown in the figures, in order to promote a stable positioning of the retention means 35 along the first pin and/or the second pin 32.
The first arm means 12 can be rotatably associated to support 18 in a way similar to what described for the connection of the support and containment element 2 to the first arm means 12 and the second arm means 13 of the movement device 1.
To this regards, according to one version of the present invention, the movement device 1 can comprise a further pin 37 associated to support 18.
The further pin 37 can protrude from support 18, defining the third axis of rotation 19 and be engageable in a further through seat 38 provided in the first arm means 12, in position diametrically opposite to that of the first through seat 33.
The first arm means 12 can be axially constrained to the further pin 37 by means of retention means 35 similar to those described previously.
Below, the functioning of a movement device 1 according to the present invention will be briefly described, with reference to the movement sequence shown in the enclosed figures 5-9.
The movement device 1 can present an initial configuration wherein the support and containment element 2 is placed completely inside the corner cabinet 3 (figure 5).
Then, the support and containment element 2 is extracted through the offset opening 9 of the corner cabinet 3 (figures 6-9).
The support and containment element 2, during it extraction from the corner cabinet 3, makes first a rotation (figures 5-7) and, then, covers a rotation and/or translation articulated movement.
As said, the trajectory covered by the support and containment element 2 during its extraction can vary based on the configuration of the first arm means 12 and second arm means 13.
At the end of the extraction step, the support and containment element 2 protrudes externally almost completely beyond the vertical plane 10 of the offset opening 9, thereby facilitating the access to products placed resting on the same.
The movement device 1 according to the present invention allows a smooth movement of a support and containment element 2 associated thereto during its extraction/insertion from/in the corner cabinet 3 in the context of an easy assembling solution.
The first arm means 12 and the second arm means 13 comprise a limited number of components, substantially configured as rods, thereby reducing the global manufacturing costs of a movement device 1 according to the present invention.
In the enclosed figures, the first arm means 12 and the second arm means 13 are shown as substantially straight rods.
However, further configurations of the first arm means 12 and second arm means 13 are possible, different with respect to what shown in the enclosed figures. For example, one or more of the single rods can be curved or comprise at least one curvilinear portion, without any limitation.
The movement device 1 according to the present invention can also be installed in corner cabinets 3 mirror-likely configured with respect to each other, i.e. which show respective offset openings 9 in opposite positions with respect to one another, without requiring the production of specific configurations for the movement device 1 itself. In that way, the number of components to be manufactures in limited, while allowing the installation of the movement device 1 in any type of corner cabinet 3.
The movement device 1 according to the present invention, presenting low manufacturing costs with respect to traditional solutions, can be implemented also in corner cabinets having a medium or low finishing level, without considerably affecting the total cost of the same.
The invention thereby conceived it susceptible of many modifications and variations all falling within the scope of the inventive concept.
Moreover, all the details can be replaced by other technically equivalent elements. In practice, the used materials as well as the incidental shapes and dimension may be any depending on the needs, without exiting, for this reason, the scope of protection of the following claims.
The present invention was described according to preferred embodiments, but equivalent variations can be conceived without exiting the scope of protection of the following claims.
