Abstract

Computer implemented methods for identifying members of a business or social networking service who are relevant to a user are described. A relevance score for a profile representing a member of the business or social networking service is determined by extracting a value for one or more features from the profile, normalising each feature value to generate a normalized feature value, comparing one or more normalized feature values of the profile with values of equivalent features of the user's profile based on user-defineable settings to obtain a similarity value for each feature and aggregating the similarity values based on the user-defineable settings to determine a relevance score for the profile.
