Abstract

La présente invention concerne un dispositif de protection personnelle pour protéger des parties du corps d'un utilisateur en cas de chute, comprenant : - un gilet (1) pouvant être porté par un utilisateur et équipé d'au moins une poche ou chambre gonflable (5); - un cylindre à gaz comprimé (9) destiné à être placé en communication fluidique sélective, par l'intermédiaire d'un actionneur de gonflage (21), avec ladite poche (5), lorsque le dispositif est dans un état d'activation; - une unité de commande (8) reliée de façon fonctionnelle à la fois à l'actionneur de gonflage (21) et au cylindre (9), caractérisé en ce que l'unité de commande (8) est reliée de façon fonctionnelle à au moins : - un gyroscope pour détecter une inclinaison du corps de l'utilisateur lorsque le gilet est dans l'état porté; - un accéléromètre pour détecter un changement d'accélération; l'invention concerne en outre un procédé pour faire fonctionner ledit dispositif.
