도 2는 일 실시 예에 따른 발광 소자 구동부(102A)를 포함하는 발광 모듈(100A)의 구성도를 나타낸다. 도 1과 동일한 도면 부호는 동일한 구성을 나타내며, 동일한 구성에 대해서는 설명을 간략하게 하거나 생략한다.
도 2를 참조하면, 발광 모듈(100A)은 발광부(101), 및 발광 소자 구동부(102A)를 포함할 수 있다. 발광 소자 구동부(102A)는 교류 전원부(110), 정류부(120A), 및 제어부(130A)를 포함할 수 있다.

제어부(130A)는 입력 전압 감지부(210), 제어 회로(220), 전환 스위치부(230), 스위칭부(240), 및 보호부(250)를 포함할 수 있다.
입력 전압 감지부(210)는 정류부(120A)로부터 제공되는 정류 신호(VR)의 레벨을 감지하고, 감지된 결과에 따른 감지 전압(Vs)을 제어 회로(220)에 제공한다.

제2 전환 스위치(Q1-2)는 제1 제어 신호(S1)가 인가되는 제2 게이트, 및 제1 전환 스위치(Q1-1)의 제1 게이트와 제어 회로(220)에 연결되는 제2 소스 및 제2 드레인을 포함할 수 있다.

제3 전압 레벨(LV3)은 직렬 연결되는 제1 내지 제3 발광 소자 어레이들(예컨대, Q1 내지 Q3)을 구동할 수 있는 전압일 수 있다. 예컨대, 제3 전압 레벨(LV3)은 제1 내지 제3 발광 소자 어레이들의 동작 전압들의 합의 전압 레벨일 수 있다.
제3 전압 레벨(LV3)은 제1 최고 레벨(MAX1)보다 크거나 동일할 수 있다.
또한 기준 전압(Vref)은 제1 그룹의 발광 소자 어레이들의 구동 전압들의 합보다 클 수 있다. 예컨대, 기준 전압(Vref)은 제1 그룹의 발광 소자 어레이들의 구동 전압들의 합과 제2 그룹의 어느 하나의 구동 전압의 합과 동일하거나 클 수 있다. 또한 예컨대, 기준 전압(Vref)은 제1 그룹의 발광 소자 어레이들의 구동 전압들의 합과 제2 그룹의 어느 2개의 구동 전압의 합보다 작을 수 있다.
제4 전압 레벨(LV4)은 직렬 연결되는 제1 내지 제4 발광 소자 어레이들(예컨대, Q1 내지 Q4)을 구동할 수 있는 전압일 수 있다. 예컨대, 제4 전압 레벨(LV4)은 제1 내지 제4 발광 소자 어레이들(예컨대, LED1 내지 LED4)의 동작 전압들의 합의 전압 레벨일 수 있다.
일반적인 AC direct 방식의 발광 소자 구동 장치는 입력 교류 전원이 220V일 경우 200[V] ~ 240[V]의 입력 전압 영역을 가질 수 있고, 입력 교류 전원이 110V일 경우 100[V] ~ 120[V]의 입력 전압 영역을 가질 수 있다. 이는 90[V] ~ 140[V], 180[V] ~ 264[V]의 입력 전압 영역을 갖는 SMPS 방식에 비하여 좁은 영역일 수 있다.
또한 220[V]의 구동 전압을 갖는 발광부를 구동하는 발광 소자 구동 장치에 110[V]의 AC 전원을 인가할 경우 발광부의 전류가 절반으로 낮아지는 문제점이 발생할 수 있다.
실시 예는 입력 교류 전원의 레벨이 변동하더라도(예컨대, 110[V] -> 220[V]), 발광부(101)에 흐르는 전류가 낮아지는 것을 방지하고, 발광부(101)를 동일한 밝기로 구동할 수 있다.
또한 실시 예는 교류 입력 전압 범위를 확대할 수 있고, 입력 교류 전압이 100[V], 120[V], 또는 230[V]인 지역에서 공용으로 사용할 수 있으며, 서로 다른 교류 입력 전압 영역들을 갖는 2가지 또는 3가지 제품들(예컨대, 발광 소자 어레이를 포함하는 발광 모듈들)을 하나의 교류 입력 전압 영역을 갖는 1가지 제품으로 대체할 수 있다.
도 5는 다른 실시 예에 따른 발광 소자 구동부(102B)를 포함하는 발광 모듈(100B)의 구성도를 나타낸다. 도 2와 동일한 도면 부호는 동일한 구성을 나타내며, 동일한 구성에 대해서는 설명을 간략하게 하거나 생략한다.
도 5를 참조하면, 발광 모듈(100B)은 발광부(101), 및 발광부(101)를 구동하는 발광 소자 구동 장치(102B)를 포함할 수 있다.
발광 소자 구동부(102B)는 교류 전원부(110), 정류부(120A), 및 제어부(130B)를 포함할 수 있다.
제어부(130B)는 입력 전압 감지부(210), 제어 회로(220), 전환 스위치부(230), 스위칭부(240), 및 보호부(250A)를 포함할 수 있다.
도 5에 도시된 보호부(250A)는 도 2에 도시된 보호부(250)의 제2 커패시터(C3)가 트랜지스터(Q5)로 대체될 수 있다. 트랜지스터(Q5)는 FET 트랜지스터일 수 있으나, 이에 한정되는 것은 아니다.
트랜지스터(Q5)는 제3 노드(N3)와 정류부(120A)의 타단(b) 사이에 연결되며, 제어 회로(220)에 의하여 제공되는 제3 제어 신호(S3)에 응답하여 스위칭된다.
예컨대, 트랜지스터(Q5)는 제3 노드(N3)와 정류부(120A)의 타단(b)에 접속하는 소스 및 드레인, 및 제3 제어 신호(S3)가 입력되는 게이트를 포함할 수 있다.
제3 제어 신호(S3)는 감지된 감지 전압(Vs)의 레벨에 기초하여 생성될 수 있다. 예컨대, 서지 전압이 인가될 때의 정류 신호(VR)의 레벨은 제2 최대 레벨(MAX2)보다 크기 때문에, 제어 회로(220)는 감지 전압(Vs)의 레벨에 기초하여 판단한 정류 신호(VR)의 레벨이 제2 최대 전압(MAX) 초과일 경우 트랜지스터(Q5)를 턴 온하는 제어 신호(S3)를 생성할 수 있다.
서지 전압이 인가될 때, 제어 회로(220)는 FET 트랜지스터(Q5)를 턴 온시킴으로써, 높은 전압과 높은 주파수를 갖는 서지 전압의 일부는 FET 트랜지스터(Q5)의 내압, 예컨대, 소스_드레인 전압의 최대치만큼 FET 트랜지스터에 분배될 수 있고, 이로 인하여 스위치(Q3)에 걸리는 전압을 낮출 수 있고, 스위치(Q3)의 과다 발열을 방지할 수 있다.
도 2에 도시된 보호 회로(250)는 서지 전압의 크기가 500[V] ~ 1[kV]일 때, 사용될 수 있고, 도 5에 도시된 보호 회로(250A)는 서지 전압의 크기가 1[kV] 이상일 때 사용될 수 있다.
상술한 바와 같이, 실시 예는 정류 신호(VR)의 레벨이 기준 전압(Vref) 이하일 때는 제1 및 제2 그룹의 발광 소자 어레이들을 병렬 연결하여 구동하고, 정류 신호(VR)의 레벨이 기준 전압(Vref) 초과일 때는 제1 및 제2 그룹의 발광 소자 어레이들을 직렬 연결하여 구동함으로써, 넓은 교류 입력 전원 범위(예컨대, 100[V] ~ 230[V])에서 발광부(101)를 구동할 수 있다.
이상에서 실시 예들에 설명된 특징, 구조, 효과 등은 본 발명의 적어도 하나의 실시 예에 포함되며, 반드시 하나의 실시 예에만 한정되는 것은 아니다. 나아가, 각 실시 예에서 예시된 특징, 구조, 효과 등은 실시 예들이 속하는 분야의 통상의 지식을 가지는 자에 의해 다른 실시 예들에 대해서도 조합 또는 변형되어 실시 가능하다. 따라서 이러한 조합과 변형에 관계된 내용들은 본 발명의 범위에 포함되는 것으로 해석되어야 할 것이다.
넓은 교류 입력 전원 범위에서 발광부를 구동할 수 있는 발광 소자 구동 장치 및 조명 장치에 사용된다

Claims (20)

  1. 직렬 연결되는 복수의 발광 소자 어레이들을 제어하는 발광 소자 구동 장치에 있어서,
    교류 신호를 정류하여 정류 신호를 출력하는 정류부; 및
    상기 정류 신호의 레벨을 감지하고, 감지된 정류 신호의 레벨과 기준 전압을 비교하고, 비교한 결과에 기초하여 상기 복수의 발광 소자 어레이들 중 제1 그룹과 상기 복수의 발광 소자 어레이들 중 제2 그룹을 직렬 또는 병렬하는 제어부를 포함하며,
    상기 제어부는,
    상기 감지된 정류 신호의 레벨의 크기에 기초하여, 상기 병렬 연결되는 제1 및 제2 그룹들의 발광 소자 어레이들을 순차 구동하거나, 또는 상기 직렬 연결되는 제1 및 제2 그룹들의 발광 소자 어레이들을 순차 구동하는 발광 소자 구동 장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제어부는,
    상기 정류 신호의 레벨이 상기 기준 전압 이하일 때, 상기 제1 그룹에 속하는 적어도 하나의 발광 소자 어레이와 상기 제2 그룹에 속하는 적어도 하나의 발광 소자 어레이를 병렬로 연결하고,
    상기 정류 신호의 레벨이 상기 기준 전압 초과일 때, 상기 제1 그룹에 속하는 발광 소자 어레이들과 상기 제2 그룹에 속하는 발광 소자 어레이들을 직렬 연결하는 발광 소자 구동 장치.
  3. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 제1 그룹은 첫 번째 발광 소자 어레이부터 제1 노드까지 직렬 연결되는 발광 소자 어레이들을 포함하며,
    상기 제2 그룹은 상기 제1 노드부터 마지막 번째 발광 소자 어레이까지 직렬 연결되는 발광 소자 어레이들을 포함하며,
    상기 제1 노드는 직렬 연결되는 발광 소자 어레이들 중 어느 인접하는 2개의 발광 소자 어레이들의 접점인 발광 소자 구동 장치.
  4. 제3항에 있어서, 상기 제어부는,
    상기 정류부의 일단과 상기 제1 노드 사이를 연결하며, 상기 감지된 정류 신호의 레벨과 상기 기준 전압을 비교한 결과에 기초하여 상기 정류부의 일단과 상기 제1 노드 사이의 전류 패스를 형성하는 전환 스위치부; 및
    복수의 스위치들을 포함하며, 상기 복수의 스위치들 각각은 상기 직렬 연결되는 복수의 발광 소자 어레이들 중 대응하는 어느 하나의 출력단과 연결되는 스위칭부를 포함하며,
    상기 복수의 스위치들은 상기 감지된 정류 신호의 레벨의 크기에 기초하여, 스위칭되는 발광 소자 구동 장치.
  5. 제3항에 있어서, 상기 제어부는,
    상기 정류 신호의 레벨을 감지하고, 감지된 결과에 따른 감지 전압을 제공하는 입력 전압 감지부;
    상기 감지 전압과 상기 기준 전압(Vref)을 비교하고, 비교한 결과에 따른 제1 제어 신호를 생성하고, 상기 감지 전압의 레벨에 기초하여 제2 제어 신호들을 생성하는 제어 회로;
    상기 정류부의 일단과 상기 제1 노드 사이를 연결하며, 상기 제1 제어 신호에 기초하여 스위칭하는 전환 스위치부; 및
    제2 제어 신호들에 기초하여 스위칭하는 복수의 스위치들을 포함하며, 상기 복수의 스위치들 각각은 상기 직렬 연결되는 복수의 발광 소자 어레이들 중 대응하는 어느 하나의 출력단과 상기 제어 회로 사이에 연결되는 스위칭부를 포함하는 발광 소자 구동 장치.
  6. 제5항에 있어서, 상기 전환 스위치부는,
    상기 정류부의 일단과 상기 제1 노드 사이를 연결하는 제1 전환 스위치; 및
    상기 제1 제어 신호에 기초하여 상기 제1 전환 스위치의 동작을 제어하는 게이트 제어 전압을 상기 제어 회로로부터 상기 제1 전환 스위치에 제공하는 제2 전환 스위치를 포함하는 발광 소자 구동 장치.
  7. 제6항에 있어서, 상기 전환 스위치부는,
    상기 제1 전환 스위치의 제1 드레인과 제1 게이트 사이에 연결되는 제1 저항; 및
    상기 제1 전환 스위치의 상기 제1 게이트와 상기 제2 전환 스위치 사이에 연결되는 제2 저항을 더 포함하는 발광 소자 구동 장치
  8. 제6항에 있어서, 상기 전환 스위치부는,
    상기 제1 전환 스위치의 제1 소스와 상기 제1 게이트 사이에 연결되는 제너 다이오드를 더 포함하는 발광 소자 구동 장치.
  9. 제6항에 있어서, 상기 전환 스위치부는,
    상기 제1 그룹의 발광 소자 어레이 중 마지막 번째 발광 소자 어레이의 음극 단자와 상기 제1 노드 사이에 연결되는 제1 다이오드를 더 포함하는 발광 소자 구동 장치.
  10. 제6항에 있어서,
    상기 제1 전환 스위치와 상기 제1 노드 사이에 연결되는 제2 다이오드를 더 포함하는 발광 소자 구동 장치.
  11. 제4항에 있어서, 상기 제어부는, 제2 노드와 상기 정류부의 타단 사이에 연결되는 제1 커패시터를 포함하는 보호부를 더 포함하며,
    상기 제2 노드는 상기 직렬 연결되는 발광 소자 어레이들 중 마지막 발광 소자 어레이와 상기 복수의 스위치들 중 상기 마지막 발광 소자 어레이와 대응하는 스위치가 접속하는 노드인 발광 소자 구동 장치.
  12. 제11항에 있어서, 상기 보호부는,
    제3 노드와 상기 정류부의 타단 사이에 연결되는 제2 커패시터를 더 포함하며,
    상기 제3 노드는 상기 마지막 발광 소자 어레이 직전의 발광 소자 어레이와 이와 대응하는 스위치가 접속하는 노드인 발광 소자 구동 장치.
  13. 제11항에 있어서, 상기 보호부는,
    제3 노드와 상기 정류부의 타단 사이에 연결되는 소스 및 드레인, 및 상기 제어 회로에 의하여 제어되는 게이트를 포함하는 트랜지스터를 더 포함하는 발광 소자 구동 장치.
  14. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 제1 그룹의 발광 소자 어레이들의 개수와 상기 제2 그룹의 발광 소자 어레이들의 개수는 동일한 발광 소자 구동 장치.
  15. 직렬 연결되는 복수의 발광 소자 어레이들을 제어하는 발광 소자 구동 장치에 있어서,
    교류 신호를 정류하여 정류 신호를 출력하는 정류부;
    상기 정류 신호의 레벨을 감지하고, 감지된 결과에 따른 감지 전압을 제공하는 입력 전압 감지부;
    상기 감지 전압과 기준 전압을 비교한 결과에 따른 제1 제어 신호를 생성하고, 상기 감지 전압의 레벨에 기초하여 제2 제어 신호들을 생성하는 제어 회로;
    상기 정류부의 일단과 제1 노드 사이에 연결되고, 상기 제1 제어 신호에 기초하여 스위칭되는 전환 스위치부; 및
    상기 제2 제어 신호들에 기초하여 스위칭하는 복수의 스위치들을 포함하며,
    상기 복수의 스위치들 각각은 상기 직렬 연결되는 복수의 발광 소자 어레이들의 출력단들 중 대응하는 어느 하나와 연결되고,
    상기 제1 노드는 상기 직렬 연결되는 발광 소자 어레이들 중 어느 인접하는 2개의 발광 소자 어레이들의 접점인 발광 소자 구동 장치.
  16. 제15항에 있어서,
    상기 복수의 발광 소자 어레이들은 첫 번째 발광 소자 어레이부터 상기 제1 노드까지 직렬 연결되는 발광 소자 어레이들을 포함하는 제1 그룹, 및 상기 제1 노드에서 마지막 번째 발광 소자 어레이까지 직렬 연결되는 발광 소자 어레이들을 포함하는 제2 그룹을 포함하며,
    상기 전환 스위치부의 스위칭 및 상기 복수의 스위치들의 스위칭에 의하여 상기 제1 그룹에 포함되는 발광 소자 어레이들 중 적어도 하나와 상기 제2 그룹에 포함되는 발광 소자 어레이들 중 적어도 하나를 직렬 또는 병렬 연결되는 발광 소자 구동 장치.
  17. 제15항에 있어서, 상기 전환 스위치부는,
    상기 정류 신호의 레벨이 상기 기준 전압 이하일 때, 상기 정류부의 일단과 상기 제1 노드 사이에 전류 패스를 형성하도록 상기 정류부의 일단과 상기 제1 노드 사이를 전기적으로 연결하는 발광 소자 구동 장치.
  18. 제15항에 있어서, 상기 전환 스위치부는,
    상기 정류 신호의 레벨이 상기 기준 전압을 초과할 때, 상기 정류부의 일단과 상기 제1 노드 사이에 전류 패스를 차단하여 상기 정류부의 일단과 상기 제1 노드 사이를 전기적으로 단선시키는 발광 소자 구동 장치.
  19. 제15항에 있어서,
    상기 기준 전압은 상기 제1 그룹의 발광 소자 어레이들의 구동 전압들의 합과 상기 제2 그룹의 어느 하나의 구동 전압의 합과 동일하거나 큰 발광 소자 구동 장치.
  20. 직렬 연결되는 복수의 발광 소자 어레이들을 포함하는 발광부; 및
    제1항 내지 제19항 중 어느 한 항의 발광 소자 구동 장치를 포함하는 발광 모듈.
