Abstract
A system and a method for determining the financial value of a naphtha product includes assigning the feed quality, the total liquid yields, the raw product yields, normalizing the assigned raw product yields, assigning a financial value to one or more fractions, and calculating the total financial value of the naphtha stream. The method is repeated on samples of different crude oils in order to provide relative financial values at the predetermined RON for comparison purposes. Prior to the method being performed, the naphtha sample is reformed into fractions at a predetermined constant research octane number (RON) and PIONA GC analysis conducted on the reformate fraction to establish the naphthene and aromatics content of the reformate fraction.
