  • suction configuration shall mean a configuration wherein a suction member 27 is removably secured to a surface and the suction member 27 remains removably secured to the surface until an external force is applied to the suction member 27 which is sufficient to overcome the suction forces created between the suction member 27 and the surface.
  • release configuration shall mean a configuration of a suction member 27 wherein negligible suction forces exist between the suction member 27 and a surface, such that, the suction member 27 is not secured to the surface via suction forces.
  • a suction member 27 in accordance with the present invention comprises a tab 27'.

However, the plurality of mounting apertures 25 allows for each suction member 27 to be positioned substantially if not completely over a continuous and/or planar portion of a tile such that a suction configuration may be achieved for each of the plurality of suction members 27, thereby securely yet removably and replacably attaching the frame 21 to the surface.
  • a frame 21 comprises a series of three mounting apertures 25 at each corner, and in yet one further embodiment, the three mounting apertures 25 are arranged in a vertical alignment with one another in each corner and are disposed approximately one- inch apart from one another.
  • an attachment assembly 26 utilizes a power-lever type suction cup, such as is generally illustrated throughout the figures and includes a suction member 27, a lock member 28, and an interconnect 29 to operable attach the lock member 28 to the suction member 27.
  • the suction member 27 in accordance with at least one embodiment of the present invention is capable of producing significantly greater suction force on a surface than a traditional push-on type suction cup, because the suction force is enhanced by positioning the lock member 28 into a locked position after an initial push-on suction bond is attained. Specifically, additional suction force is created and maintained by drawing the cup portion of the suction member 27 into its mold via the lever action of the locking member 28 as it is moved into a locked position.
  • a skin cleaning and treatment system 10 in accordance with the present invention also includes a support assembly 30.

  • a support member 32 is constructed from a synthetic foam material, and in yet one further embodiment, a support member 32 comprises a water resistant latex material of construction. It is envisioned to be within the scope and intent of the present invention to provide a support member 32 constructed of material (s) which may be economically manufactured such that the support members 32 can be periodically removed and replaced as needed which, of course, will vary depending on the frequency and type of usage.
  • a support member 32 in accordance with the present invention comprises a support surface 33 which is disposed in an outwardly disposed direction, relative to an operative surface to which the mounting assembly 20 is releasably secured, and is positioned for ease of contact by a user during use of the skin cleansing and treatment system 10 in accordance with the present invention.
  • a support surface 33 of a support member 32 comprises a first curvature 34 and a second curvature 35.
  • the first curvature 34 is configured to mimic a lordotic curve of the human back and a second curvature 35 is configured to mimic a kyphotic curve of a human back.
  • a support surface 33 of a support member 32 may comprise other curvilinear configurations and/or a substantially planar configuration.
  • a support surface 33 in accordance with at least one embodiment of the present invention may comprise other curvilinear surfaces in addition to a first curvature 34 and a second curvature 35.
  • a support surface 33 of a support member 32 comprises a supporting channel 36 which is structured and disposed to provide support to a neck and shoulder region of a user. More in particular, in at least one embodiment, the support member 32 is structured to be removed from the frame 21 and utilized independently as a contouring "bath pillow", wherein a user's head, neck, and/or upper shoulders are positioned proximate the supporting channel 36, while the user's back is supported by the first curvature 34 and/or the second curvature 35.
  • a support member 32 comprises a mounting surface 37 which is disposed opposite of support surface 33.
  • the mounting surface 37 is positioned and disposed to physically contact an operative surface to which a frame assembly 20 is securely yet removably attached, while the support member 32 is releasably retained in a frame 21.
  • a support member 32 comprises one or more mounting channel 38 extending into and through the mounting surface 37. As shown in the illustrative embodiments of Figures 2 and 3, the mounting channels 38 are formed into and through the mounting surface 37 of the support member 32, and are dimensioned to overlie both the inner edge 23 and outer edge 22 of the frame 21.
  • vertical mounting channels are formed in and through mounting surface 37 of the support member 32 and are dimensioned to overlie the corresponding vertical portion of the frame 21.
  • one or more mounting channels 38 are formed around a periphery of the mounting surface 37 such that a portion of the support member 32 is positioned within the access opening 24 of the frame 21 and overlies the inner edge 23, however, in this embodiment, the support member 32 does not overlie the outer edge 22 of the frame 21.
  • each of the plurality of serrations 23' serves to releasably retain a portion of the support member 32 in the frame 21 during use by a person.
  • the plurality of serrations 23' are dimensioned and positioned so as to require compression of the portion of the support member 32 which is positioned into the access opening 24 of a frame 21 in order to release the support member 32 from the access opening 24 of the frame 21.
  • the mounting surface 37 of a support member 32 comprises a contact surface 39.
  • the contact surface 39 comprises a material having a relatively high coefficient of friction relative to the operable surface on which a skin cleansing and treatment system 10 is removably attached.
  • the contact surface 39 further serves to maintain a support member 32 in an operative position in a frame 21 during use of a skin cleansing and treatment system 10 in accordance with the present invention.
  • a mounting surface 37 comprises a plurality of contact surfaces 39, and in yet one further embodiment, a contact surface 39 overlies substantially the entire mounting surface 37 of the support member 32.
  • the combination of the plurality of serrations 23' on the inner edge 23 of frame 21 and one or more contact surfaces 39 along at least a portion of the mounting surface 37 of support member 32 serve to substantially prevent unwanted disengagement and/or release of the support member 32 from the frame 21 during use of the skin cleansing and treatment system 10 in accordance with the present invention.
  • a user may simply compress portions of support member 32 and easily release the support member 32 from the frame 21 such as for storage, cleaning, replacement, and/or use the support member 32 independently as a contouring bath pillow.
  • the contact surface (s) 39 will facilitate maintaining the support member 32 in position along the side of a bathtub, a spa, etc.
  • a skin cleansing and treatment system 10 in accordance with the present invention further comprises a cleansing and treatment assembly 40. More in particular, the cleansing and treatment assembly 40 in accordance with the present invention is operatively mounted onto a support member 32 and is thereby positioned for contact by a person during use.
  • a cleansing and treatment assembly 40 in accordance with the present invention comprises at least one application member 42. As will be appreciated from Figure 5, the at least one application member 42 may be mounted to support member 32 in an operative orientation such that at least a portion of the application member 42 is positioned for contact by a person during use.
  • an application member 42 comprises an attachment opening 43 to facilitate mounting the application member 42 over and around a corresponding support member 32.
  • the application member 42 comprises a securing element 44 which is structured and disposed to retain the application member 42 in an operative orientation on a support member 32 during use.

  • an application surface 45 of an application member 42 comprises a simple wash cloth surface for purposes of applying soap or other body wash thereto, thereby allowing the person to wash his or her back regions by contacting portions of the back region against the wash cloth application surface 45 of the application member 42 that is operatively mounted on support member 32, while support assembly 30 is releasably retained in the frame 21 of support member 32, which is removably and replacably secured to an operative surface.
  • an application surface 45 of an application member 42 comprises a medicament application surface which is structured to retain an amount of an ointment, lotion, gel, etc., which a person desires to apply to a hard to reach area of their body such as, once again by way of example, his or her back.
  • at least one embodiment of the present invention comprises a plurality of application members 42 and in at least one further embodiment, each of the plurality of application members 42 comprises at least one application surface 45 which may include, but is in no manner limited to, a terry cloth wash surface, a microfiber foam wash surface, a medicament application surface, an exfoliation surface, a polishing surface, a mask application surface, and/or a luffa surface, just to name a few.
  • an application member 42 in accordance with at least one embodiment of a skin cleansing and treatment system 10 of the present invention comprises a strap 46 which is accessible though attachment opening 43. More in particular, the strap 46 is dimensioned to permit a user to position a portion of his or her hand under the strap 46 and utilize the application member 42 in a hand-held orientation when the application member 42 is removed from support member 32, such that the user can clean or otherwise treat other portions of his or her body utilizing the application surface 45 of the application member 42.
  • An application member 42 in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention is constructed of materials that permit ease and economy of manufacture, as well as ease of maintenance of the same.
  • an attachment member 42 is removed from a support member 32 after use by a person and the application member 42 is maintained by simply washing in a standard washing machine. Therefore, the skin cleansing and treatment system 10 in accordance with the present invention allows a user to quickly and easily mount a clean application member 42 to a support member 32 on at least a daily basis, and more frequently as may be required. It will be appreciated that none of the known devices for cleansing or treating hard to reach portions of a person's body provide the stability, versatility, and ease of use of the present skin cleansing and treatment system 10.
  • the simplicity of manufacture and ease of use of the present skin cleansing and treatment system 10, as well as the variety of corresponding application members 42 for use therewith, provides a cost-effective solution to a common hygiene issue faced by every man, woman, and child on a regular, often daily basis.

Abstract
