Description

COMPRESSED TANK SAFETY SYSTEM
TECHNICAL FIELD
The invention is related with compressed tank safety system which enables evacuation in compressed tanks according to instantaneous pressure value changes.
PREVIOUS TECHNIC
Liquidated Petroleum Gases (LPG) are propane, propylene, butane, isobutene and mixtures consisted by this gases. In room temperature and under 1 atmosphere pressure, they exist in gas phase and when they exposed to pressure they liquidate. The LPG stored, transferred and measured in liquid phase is evaporate again by transferring heat from environment when the pressure exposed on it is removed.
The LPG is obtained from two basic sources as refining the crude oil at oil refinery or by natural gas. The LPG obtained by refining crude oil is refined from water and the sulphur level it contains is reduced to a level suitable with standards. Originally being scentless, the LPG is put into use after aromatising by ethyl mercaptan with the purpose of preventing a possible danger.
Valve, safety valve, pipe, fittings etc. equipment existing on LPG tanks are produced from a material which is suitable to work in very low temperature conditions. For installations of plants, certificated argon welding experts are employed and all inoxidable pipe weldings performed in field are inspected with radiographic methods and recorded. The installation is inspected with nitrogen gas and if no problem observed, it is put into operation.
SHORT DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The invention is compressed tank safety system which enables evacuation to a far point from centre with the help of a hose existing in the system securely according to instantaneously changing pressure values. Fastened to the "multi valve" evacuation outlet or to the "safety valve" outlet which is installed to open under 27 bars pressure, the system's operation principle is similar as air bag system existing in vehicles. The safety hose which is subject of the invention is designed thin-walled and foldable to save occupied space. It is preserved in a capsule to be saved from environmental conditions. In case of instantaneous evacuation of pressure, the capsule membrane is torn and evacuation nozzle of the hose performs the evacuation to a far point from scene of accident by moving away from the fastening point within one-tenth of a second.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
In compressed tanks there are safety valves which perform evacuation duty in cases of pressure value increases. Safety valve provides a reduction on pressure when the pressure value in tank exceeds the maximum operation pressure value by being opened automatically and releasing some amount of gas to the atmosphere. On this evacuation method, because of the released gas is near to the centre, it can result in loss of life and property in case of a possible accident. Namely, because the LPG is a combustive gas, gas leakages possibly resulted from accident can be enough for explosion of whole tank even with existence of a little sparkle. Therefore, in the event of an increase in pressure resulted from any reason, the LPG existing in the tank must be released from the vehicle very fast.
For systems containing combustive or non-combustive compressed volume, against an increase on pressure value resulted from an abrupt deformation or other reasons, the evacuation of pressure in a safe manner is an important issue. Especially the LPG tanks (2), existing on LPG fuel system operative vehicles, have characteristics of compressed tank and produced by producers certified by TSE (Turkish Standarts Institution). These tanks are cylindrical or circular in shape and generally installed to rear truck of vehicles. This part of vehicles is quiet important in respect of collision and crushing resulted from this collision.
The invention is related with a safety system which is designed considering the issues mentioned above and previous technic part and applicable to compressed tanks to provide the instantaneous evacuation of the pressure inside tank, to a distance which is sufficient to prevent danger in case of any danger
The invention is related with foldable hose (5) which is applicable to existing LPG systems and fastened to bleeder outlet of the multivalve mechanism (3) which exists inside the LPG tank's (2) mechanism and performs the evacuation of the compressed gas inside tank. The foldable hose (5) is designed thin walled and from elastic polymer material in order to allow the pressure being moved away to a far point from the tank by opening in a short time when the pressure resulted from the gas which filled in by mean of LPG inlet (1 ) exceeds the danger level. Foldable hose is placed in a capsule for staying firm, not being damaged and not occupying large space out of danger situation. The membrane, indurable against sudden expansion, will be torn and opened to release the foldable hose in case of danger. Capsule is assembled under the vehicle as its opening surface is below and open front. Due to high pressure and its flexibility, the hose will head towards empty space in case of danger and opening instant. For the reduction of the pressure value inside tank, Multivalve (3) and bleeder outlet (4) will eliminate the explosion risk by evacuating the pressure causing gas to minimum 15 metres forward within one- tenth of a second through the foldable hose by being operative when the secure pressure value surpassed. Therefore, length of the foldable hose will be minimum 15 metres.
