Abstract

A device for diagnosing the cardiovascular diseases and other metabolic disorders using a biomarker based non-invasive/minimally-invasive sensor is disclosed. The device includes a source, a non-invasive sensor, a signal acquisition and processing unit, and an output unit/alarm. The source emits a polychromatic light (polychromatic infrared light). The signal acquisition and processing unit receives a signal from the non-invasive sensor. The signal includes (a) the concentration of the cardiac biomarker in the blood sample of the subject/patient, and (b) the pulsatile changes in the arterial blood. The signal acquisition and processing unit isolates reflected light/scattered light of the cardiac biomarker in the arterial blood from the reflected light of (a) a venous blood, (b) a connective tissue and (c) otherextraneous matter. The output unit/alarm receives the signal from the signal acquisition and processing unit to alert the patient/a care giver about onset of the cardiovascular diseases and other metabolic disorders.
