Abstract

The invention relates to a gas liquefaction system comprising an absorption machine (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) having at least one stage, which is intended to produce cryogenic cold by implementing an absorption cycle, the stage comprising an evaporator (5) of which the outlet (24) is connected from upstream to downstream firstly to at least one exchanger (6) for cooling the gas that is to be liquefied so as to lower the temperature thereof from ambient temperature down to a given temperature and, on the other hand, a compression-type or stirling-cycle heat pump (15), intended to operate a stirling cycle, to supplement the cooling of the gas that is to be liquefied so as to bring the temperature thereof down from the given temperature to at least the temperature at which the gas condenses.
