Abstract

We describe a method for the rational design of complementary peptides that can bind with high specificity and affinity to target regions of a protein molecule or sequence. The method uses a computational algorithm that exploits the availability of a large number of experimentally-derived protein structures to identify potential interaction partners. We also describe grafting the designed sequences into protein scaffolds, such as an antibody scaffold.
