Abstract

A method of combatting airborne microorganisms in a room which includes the steps of exposing an airstream, from the room, to UV sterilization in an enclosed volume, and controlling the level of UV radiation or the movement of the air stream in the enclosed volume, in response to: - human occupancy in the room; - the level of airborne microorganisms in the airstream; - the size of the room; and - the maximum possible level of the UV radiation in the enclosed volume'
