Abstract
Pad for dog paws of padded foam with slip resistant surface on one side and pressure sensitive adhesive on the other side. The pad is fabricated from Polyethylene Vinyl Acetate and Hypoallergenic skin adhesive. The pad covers the entire paw surface and protects the paw from wearing, scratching, puncturing, infection, irritation, preserve longevity on concrete sidewalk, pavement, glass, sharp objects, rock salt, sharp rocks, splintering wood, foreign materials, dirt, feces and friction. The pad provides comfort to the joints when walking by compression of the foam pad with each step. The pressure sensitive adhesive is medical grade adhesive suitable for contact with an animal paw. A peel-off label is attached and overlaps for easy peel, to prevent the adhesive from prematurely bonding to another surface. Apply the foam pad without prepping or cleaning the paw. After use, the pads may be removed and discarded.
Description
ANIMAL PAW PROTECTOR
Background of the invention
Field of the invention
The invention is associated mainly to dogs and specifically to dog paws. Paw-Saver pads are for dogs; which provides a layer of custom designed foam to keep the entire paw surface completely clean at the same time keeping the paw safe from the following: wearing, scratching, puncturing, infection, irritation, and preserve for longevity of / from concrete side walk, pavement, glass, sharp objects, rock salt, splintering wood, sharp rocks, foreign materials, dirt, feces and friction. Paw savers provides a comfort to the joints when walking by the compression of the foam pad with each step.
Discussion of the Prior Art
It is apparent that prior art is designed to be worn all the time and in-doors to help older and dogs with disabilities to help grip and use traction. Paw- Savers are designed for strictly outdoor use, preventing the dogs paw from having any contact surface with the floor directly. This ensures that the dog paw will remain clean and debris free. The paw will remain clean to return home so the dog paws do not have to be cleaned by the dog owner or dog.
Summary of the invention
The invention provides a pad containing a layer of custom designed foam to keep the entire paw surface completely clean at the same time keeping the paw safe from the following: wearing, scratching, puncturing, infection, irritation, and preserve for longevity of / from concrete side walk, pavement, glass, sharp objects, rock salt, splintering wood, sharp rocks, foreign materials, dirt, feces and friction. Paw savers provides a comfort to the joints when walking by the compression of the foam pad with each step. The pad is (fabricated) from a custom material developed to achieve certain characteristics, a combination of Polyethylene Vinyl Acetate and Hypoallergenic skin adhesive, also known as PEVA . A peel-off label is attached and overlaps for easy peel, to prevent the adhesive from prematurely bonding to another surface. To use paw-savers simply apply the foam pad without prepping or cleaning the paw. Paw-Savers use are for walking outside to keep the paw clean, safe, while experiencing comfort at the same time. After walking outdoors, Paw-savers should be removed and discarded. Paw-Savers are disposable, they are meant for one time use.
Therefore, this invention is an object that maintains the cleanliness of the dogs paw, covers the entire surface of the paw that would make contact with any surface including but not limited to concrete, pavement, rubble, stones, rocks, sand, dirt, grass, snow, and water.
Another object of this invention is the preservation of the wearing of the paws surface which contains millions of blood vessels. Paw-savers protect the dog paw against harsh concrete or other extreme conditions. Using Paw-Savers will give the dogs paw longevity. Preserving the dogs paw pad.
Another object of this invention is to provide Outdoor Safety to the dog paw. Dog Paws are subject to an endless amount of dangerous materials
outdoors including but not limited to: concrete side walk, pavement, glass, sharp
objects, rock salt, splintering wood, sharp rocks, foreign materials, dirt, feces and friction.
Another object of this invention is to provide climate control to the dog paw. Hot and Cold extremes, heat extremes, the invention is to prevent burns and blisters, avoid walking your dog on hot pavement or sand. Signs include blisters, loose flaps of skin and red, ulcerated patches. For minor burns, apply antibacterial wash and cover the paw with a loose bandage. For serious burns, visit your vet immediately.
Cold extremes, Freezing temperatures and asphalt from snow and cold weather introduce Rock salt and chemical ice melters can cause sores, infection and blistering. Toxic chemicals can also be ingested by your dog when he licks his paws.
The final object of this invention is to provide a Comfortable experience walking outdoors. Paw-Savers apply to the bottom of the dogs paw pad and are not bulky like a boot. The Paw-Savers are not a concern for the dog. There is no awkward kicking or leg motions to remove the Paw-Saver.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFFERED EMBODIMENT
With Reference to the illustrations, and in particular to Fig. l, there is a showing side view of the invention illustrating the use of the peel to apply the paw-savers 5. The paw-saver consists of a pad 6 that covers the entire paw pad that makes contact with outdoor surfaces. On one side is the peel off paper and on the other side is the pressure sensitive adhesive that will adhere to the paw pad. The paw saver is composed of PEVA foam material consisting of a Polyethylene Vinyl Acetate and Hypoallergenic skin adhesive.
The figures show the shape of the dog paw and the different breed of dog.
The pressure sensitive adhesive is of a higher or equal to medical grade standards of adhesive to any body contact surface specifically to a dog paw. A paper peel off label is attached to the adhesive with an overlapping tab for easy peel and serves a purpose to prevent adhering to any other surface except for the desired surface. The dog paw does NOT need to be prepped for the adhesive to work. This paw- saver is designed for easy one time use. Apply the paw-saver to the paw pad in particular the digital pad that touch/ make contact the outdoor surface during walking. The dog's claws, dew claws, and carpal pad are not to be covered by the paw-savers.
While specific embodiments of the invention are illustrated and described in detail, it can be identified that the invention can be used in many forms, this particular invention is for maintaining a clean paw to avoid the dog paw pad from accumulating dirt, debris, and filth while walking specifically outdoors.
