Abstract
A mobile phone can be used to transmit information to a beneficiary, whereby credit somehow stored on the phone or related to it (i.e. in a bank account from which the mobile phone bill is paid) may be remitted via transmission of data from the phone to another party, who may then retrieve the amount transferred via either his own mobile device or by presenting some data at a bank or withdrawal point. Converting mobile phone credits/units to cash and payment options are the direct deduction of mobile credit units/credits equivalent volume from the sender to third parties in form of cash and, or payment for goods and services. Credits/units are converted to either cash or used in payment for goods and services.
Description
DESCRIPTION
Description of Invention:
Converting mobile phone credits to cash and payment options is a method of deriving physical cash and making electronic payment without direct connection to user's existing bank account; it is the deduction of cash or payment volume equivalent from mobile phone units/credits balance.
In another way, it is a method of money transfer to/by the service initiator (user/sender) and third parties and registered person/user/receiver without the involvement or direct connection to user existing bank account, but by the deduction of transfer volume equivalent from mobile phone unit/credit balance.
This method differs from the present modes of mobile money transfers because all existing mobile money transfers requires direct connection to initiators/sender's bank account thorough secured/protected internet connection. It is not internet dependent nor requires any attachment to the sender/ initiators bank account.
Technical Description:
Converting mobile phone credit/unit to cash and payment is developed on both GUI (graphic user interface) and simple text (text messaging) platform designed to enable instant credit into customer's bank accounts, debit cards for automated teller machines or card-less automated teller machines withdrawals.
It requires the use of:
Mobile phone: electronic device used for communication between two people via audio transmission or text messaging. It comes in various shapes and sizes and easy to carry around
Mobile network service provider: medium of telecommunications radio waves exchange to aid the audio and text transmission for the purpose of communication
Credit-switch platform: this is the platform that receives transfer authorizations from clients and routes the authorization through the approval of the service initiator's mobile service provider for authentication, mobile unit-transfer volume adequacy, mobile unit deduction and cash equivalent dispatch to designated receiver.
Withdrawal cash point: medium of cash collection over the counter teller point or the use of automated teller machines. This is the end point of the service delivery as customer or designated receiver picks up stipulated cash volume as initiated by the sender.
Customer sends transfer message using mobile phone which is able to send the message across via the mobile network service provider to designated parties for credit-cash switching which in turn makes cash available to destination client or receiver via withdrawal cash point.
Field Description:
This invention is in the field of mobile payment also referred to as mobile money transfer generally referring to payment services based on an electronic wallet and performed via a mobile device .mobile payment is being accepted all over the world in "unbanked" and "under banked" communities in different ways as payment solutions. In the specific section of sms/ussd-based transactional payments which has been used to facilitate digital purchases via multi-media messaging service.
Disclosure of Invention:
The invention is simply based on the application of already existing technologies in a way never before used. In this case, the use of mobile phones to send money between people, organizations, etc without the need to debit customer bank account is proffered. Customer is provided with the advantage of having his/ her credit units being debited to the volume equivalent of money/ cash to be sent to receiver. This opens up an already closed end transaction of mobile unit purchase and provides mobile phone users across the world with the opportunity to convert mobile credit units back to cash in full scale use as payment options for goods and services furthermore money transfer within personal accounts and between peoples accounts depending on the mode of application employed by the service initiator.
The structure of this invention allows all phone types (graphic user interface capable or simple text based) to carry out this function and enjoy the various applications it presents with and without internet usage.

Step 4: Cash Tranzact then pays other partners (e.g. bank) in service delivery dependent on the mode of service delivery adopted i.e. either method 1 or method 2.
Significant features and best mode of carrying out the invention and industrial application:
The invention is best carried out using text format of service initiation. The transfer sequence on text format is available on all phone types thus cuts across all financial sects of a society. This method is prompt message-exchange based. Text exchange between user / service initiator and credit-switch company ensures the success of the transactions.
This method of money transfer is applied in various modes of electronic payment such as: Self-account credit: clients can credit their personal accounts using this method for various reasons there-in. For example converting mobile unit to cash for instant withdrawals at automated teller machines in emergencies, or the top up of account balance to a volume withdraw able via the automated teller account
