Definitions

  • the present invention is a device that is placed on the foot by applying on a deformed finger, preferably the so-called hallux valgus, modifying the position of the finger, thus contributing to the relief of pain and acting as a preventive of the progress of said deformity and as a corrector in the post-surgical treatment of the deformity.
  • the deformity is produced by retraction of the distal flexor muscles of the second to fourth fingers, associated with a shortening of the extensor muscles.
  • the combination of hyperpextension of the first phalanx over the metatarsal head, together with the flexion of the distal phalanx causes the finger to rise, subluxing upwards and often sideways. As a result, excessive friction occurs with footwear or other fingers that can be very painful.
