Abstract

The present invention provides for a device useful or removing dissolved ions from water configured to comprise at least a first pair of electrodes a first voltage source capable of producing a low DC voltage and a second voltage source capable of producing a plurality of short-duration, voltage-driven charge-pulses. The system includes a chamber defined by the at least first pair of electrodes, the chamber including an inlet and an outlet.
