Abstract

A video signal is projected onto an external screen to display a projected video image. In one exemplary embodiment, the present invention receives an external video signal, and dynamically in real time, provides a color correction of the output video image while the projector in a normal operating/display mode, without having to use a pre-calibration procedure and/or using a pre-determined calibration image. A color correction of an output image is based on a weighted sum of a plurality of selected image pixels. The projector performs the color correction dynamically in real time while a user signal is displayed in a normal operating/display mode, without having to use a pre-calibration procedure (i.e., a calibration procedure before a user-provided signal is displayed) and/or using a pre-determined calibration image.
