Description

DESCRIPTION
PORTABLE SPORTS EQUIPMENT Technical Field
The invention relates to sports equipment used for develop muscle groups at certain regions of the body and for exercise. The invention particularly relates to a cost-efficient portable sports equipment which is used for working out and shaping pectoral, shoulder and biceps muscles at home or in any other environment; enables exercising by being attached to chair, wall or any vertical surface for the desired duration; can be detached when desired; and is designed especially for people who suffer space problems and don't want to go gym.
Prior Art
People who want to develop muscle groups at certain regions of the body and to have a fit body generally visit gyms. The sports equipment at the gyms is capable of working out different muscle groups but the sports equipment requires a great space.
The size, weight, non-portable structure and high cost of available sports equipment compels even people, who want to work out only the pectoral muscles, to the gyms. People, who want to work out at home, on the other hand, are again obliged to purchase heavy weighted, bulky, expensive and extremely hard to move work stations, however, they abandon such thought again due to the size and high cost of the workstation. Therefore, there is no light weighted and portable sports equipment available in the prior art which is capable of meeting the needs of the people who intend to work out their pectoral, shoulder and biceps muscles. The sports equipment of the invention aims to provide solution for this significant problem.
Moreover, the heavy weighted and bulky structure of the available sports equipment and large space requirements cause layout problems even at the gyms. Failure to fit the sports equipment to the gym easily reduces the number of equipment available at the gym or causes installation of the sports equipment too close to each other. This fact precludes comfortable exercises where the number of persons exercising at the gym at the same time cannot exceed a certain number. Therefore, a trend towards light-weighted and portable sports equipment has arisen at the gyms. Although no patent application similar to the sports equipment of the invention is encountered during the study conducted on the literature, some applications in the concerned technical field are encountered. Information on these applications is provided hereunder.
Utility model application with publication no. TR201211500U relates to sports equipment. Said sports equipment relates to the sports equipment used at the gyms generally for working out the sacrolumber, pelvic-hypochondria, biceps, leg, and back muscles. The invention relates to a sport equipment which comprises two individual belts with adjustable length by means of adjustment apparatus linked to the fixed hook, available on the ceiling of the gym, by means of fasteners available thereon; enables the athletes to work out different exercises by grabbing the handles available under the bottom part of the belts,; further enables the athlete to pull up by linking the chinning bar at anywhere along the belts;, and enables one or more athletes to use at any area other than the gym such as home, workplace, and hotels during business trips. However, said sports equipment is designed to develop completely different muscle groups according to the sports equipment of the invention and is used as mounted to a hook at the gym ceiling. European Patent Application no. EP2747729A1 relates to an exercise apparatus used for strengthening the spine. Said apparatus comprises a bench, a positioning mechanism under the bench, and a lifting mechanism for lifting the person as linked with the feet of the person on the bench. The person is lifted to be vertical to the bench by means of the lifting mechanism linked with the feet while lying horizontally on the bench, thus strengthening the spine.
Objects of the Invention
Object of the invention is to develop a special cost-efficient portable sports equipment which is used for working out and shaping pectoral, shoulder and biceps muscles at home or any other environment; enables exercising by being attached to chair, wall or any vertical surface for the desired duration; can be detached when desired; and is designed especially for people who suffer space problems and do not want to go gym. The sports equipment of the invention enables working out the pectoral, shoulder and biceps muscles and not only the fat at said regions is burned out but also said muscle groups shape and gain more aesthetic appearance. Light-weight compared to the available sports equipment (approximately 5 kg.), no need for any weight for exercise, use of spring and rubber system instead of the weight, easily attachable-detachable portable structure, customizable by virtue of adjusting working stiffness as desired, enabling anyone to work out and shape pectoral, shoulder and biceps muscles by eliminating space and location problem, accessibility for anyone due to its cost- effectiveness as compared to other sports equipment, and flexible structure by enabling working out both by sitting and standing as being assembled to a chair or wall are the primary advantages of the sports equipment.
In order to fulfill aforementioned objects, developed is a sports equipment which is used for working out and shaping pectoral, shoulder and biceps muscles at home, at the gym or anywhere; enables exercising as being fixed to any sitting apparatus or on the wall that extends vertically to the floor for the desired duration; and can be detached when desired, characterized in comprising
- moveable work arms which are used for completing the exercise movement by spreading both arms from both sides and then reuniting the same in front of the chest, and can be brought to open and closed position through rotational motion around two different axes,
- main frames linked with the moveable work arms,
- a backrest which is linked to the main frames and on which the user leans his/her back during exercise,
- springs enabling exercising by means of tensile force achieved by spiral rotation of the springs without using any weight,
- upper spring slots which are linked with the moveable work arms and transfer the force of the springs to be used instead of weight to the moveable work arms,
- spring shafts which pass through the springs and enable the springs to stretch at equal rate during exercising,
- lower spring slots which retain the springs and prevent the same to rotate during stretching and is positioned on the upper ends of the main frames,
- adjusting levers which adjust the height of the main frame, thus the height of the backrest linked with the main frames, with respect to the floor on which the user sits during exercise,
- a platform which is linked with the adjusting levers and assists in fixation and more secure positioning of the sports equipment by sitting thereon after the height adjustment. Description of the Figures

Rubber slots (2) function as retainer for the extra rubbers to be used for harder workout in addition to the springs (6) to be used instead of weight.
Moveable work arms (1) are linked to the upper spring slots (3) that transfer the force of the springs (6) to be used instead of weight to the moveable work arms (1). Spring holes (4) are formed on the upper spring slots (3) where the ends of the spring (6) are inserted and which enable operation of the springs (6). The force of the springs (6) is transferred to the moveable work arms (1) by means of spring holes (4). The sports equipment (A) contains spring shaft hole (5) through which the spring shaft (8) passes in order to fix the upper spring slot (3) to the lower spring slot (9). The upper spring slot (3) and the lower spring slot (9) are fixed to each other by means of the spring shaft (8).
At the sports equipment of the invention (A), springs (6) are used instead of weight. The exercise is made by using the tensile force achieved upon spiral rotation of the springs (6) without using any weight. A restraining strip (7) which fixes the sports equipment (A) to a sitting apparatus (B), and secures the sports equipment (A) during exercise thus enables comfortable workout, is used. The flexible structure of the restraining strip (7) provides significant advantages both in terms of user safety and durability.
The spring shafts (8) passing through the springs (6) enable equal stretching of the springs (6) during workout. The lower spring slots (9) retain the springs (6) and prevent the springs (6) to rotate during stretching. The sports equipment (A) of the invention contains a backrest (10) on which the user leans his/her back during the exercise. The backrest (10) has an ergonomic structure compatible with the back form of the user.
The sports equipment (A) contains main frames (11) that retain the lower spring slot (9), backrest (10), and height adjusting levers (13). Pin slots (12) are formed on the main frames (11) in order to adjust the main frame (1 ) height with respect to the floor. Adjusting levers (13), on which pin slots (14) are formed, are used for adjusting the height of the main frame (11), thus the height of the backrest (10) linked to the main frames (11), with respect to the floor on which the user sits during exercise. The main frames (11) and the adjusting levers (13) are fixed to each other by means of the pins (18) inserted through the pin slots (12, 14) aligned after height adjustment by moving the main frames (11) on the adjusting levers ( 3).
A platform (15) which is linked with the adjusting levers (13) and facilitates fixation and more secure positioning of the sports equipment (A) by sitting thereon after the height adjustment of the sports equipment (A) is performed. The platform (15) is positioned on the seat surface of the sitting apparatus (B) and enables fixation and more secure positioning of the sports equipment (A) when the user sits thereon.
Screw slots (16) are formed at the end sections of the spring shafts (8). Fixing bolts (19) are inserted to the spring shaft holes (5) and fixed to the screw slots (16), thus enabling fixation of the upper spring slots (3) and lower spring slots (9) to each other.
Operating Principle of the Invention: The sports equipment (A) is fixed to a sitting apparatus
(B) , which is preferably a chair, by means of restraining strips (7) and then the user sits on the chair, and grips and pulls both moveable work arms (1) towards front side, and combines them at the chest level, and then releases the same. By virtue of the spring (6) ends inserted into the spring holes (4) at the upper and lower spring slots (3, 9) to which the moveable work arms (1) are connected, a spiral tensile force is generated by the springs (6) when the moveable work arms (1) are moved forward and said force is used instead of weight. By virtue of the exercise performed with said springs (6), the sports equipment (A) can be manufactured in a more light-weighted, portable and more cost-efficient manner. If the exercising user wishes, she/he can work out with extra power by installing rubber to the rubber slots (2) available on the moveable work arms (1) in addition to the spring (6). When the exercising user leans his/her back on the backrest (10) during workout and pulls his/her arms forward, an inverse force is generated between the backrest (10) and the moveable work arms (1), which enables more comfortable exercise. If the exercising user wishes to work while standing, then she/he can work out by fixing the sports equipment (A) to the wall
(C) by means of fixing pieces (17). The height is adjusted by using height adjusting levers (13) for adjusting the height of the sports equipment (A) with respect to the surface on which the user sits during the exercise at the chair and the height is fixed by inserting pins (18) to the pin slots (12, 14). After said adjustment, the user sits on the platform (15), which is the seat part of the sports equipment (A), enabling the sports equipment to have a more robust posture and then the exercise is performed. In alternate embodiments of the invention, the spring mechanism of the sports equipment (A) can generate the tensile force achieved by spiral rotation of the spring (6) by employing the thrust and tensile force of the spring. Moreover, a more flexible and customizable sports equipment (A) can be achieved by providing mobility feature at the intersection points of the upper spring slot (3) with the moveable work arms (1) and at the sections of the moveable work arms (1) corresponding elbows of the exercising user. More comfortable workout, more robust and durable structure can be achieved by adding balls between the upper spring slot (3) and the lower spring slot (9). Although designed for working out at home or work place, the sports equipment (A) of the invention can be preferred by the gyms due to its low space requirements and low cost.
