Description

A MODULAR MULTIFUNCTIONAL VERSATILE HOLDING ACCESSORY
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention generally relates to, but is not limited to, infant accessories. More particularly, the present invention relates to a releasabie holder which can be clamped, hanged or attached to an object adjacent to an infant or another subject at one end thereof and which can hold a variety of modular, versatile and multifunctional accessories at the other end thereof.
The use of holders is known in the prior art. More specifically, baby bottle holders heretofore devised and utilized for holding a baby bottle in a position for substantially unattended feedings or toys heretofore devised to amuse the infant are known but are either limited to one purpose, or lack any kind of positional control.
Multifunctional holders for baby food and baby accessories are known in the prior art. For example, U.S. Pat. No. 201 10315732 to Schwartz et al. discloses a versatile multifunctional holder which is comprised of a main semi flexible ring and four different attachments that can be used to secure miscellaneous baby items, toys, and food to a high chair, stroller or table, or to a baby's wrist. This device comprises a series of cords that do not allow control of the position of the accessories. Furthermore, the device comprises a semi flexible ring that limits the places to which the device can be attached.
Another example, U.S. Pat. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
The present invention discloses a releasabie accessory-holding device, comprising: at least one flexible arm comprising interconnectors on both sides, at least one attaching device comprising an mterconnector, and at least one adaptor comprising an interconnector on one side and at least two interconnectors on the other; where this holding device is configured to enable modularity, versatility and multifunctionality by means of the interconnectors.
These interconnectors are divided into two different distinguishable configurations that enable interconnection to each other. These configurations can be in a form of a male- female type of system, a hook-and-loop fastener system, or any other system that enables interconnection. What is of primary importance is that ail of the interconnectors' interconnections are reversible.
As shown for purposes of illustration in the drawings, the present invention is directed to a device, generally referred to by the reference number 100, which is used for holding at least one item. In these drawings, an interconnector of the male-female type is used. Of particular importance to the invention is the fact that the device 100 is configured to be modular, multifunctional and versatile for a variety of accessories.
With reference to FIG. 1 , two different illustrated configurations of the device 100 (100a- b) are shown. The device 100a is comprised of an arm 10 which is flexible in nature so as to be selectively positionabie. As will be more fully described herein, the arm 10 can be comprised of any material or constructed in any manner such that it can be bent and articulated to suit the needs of the user. The device 100a includes a clamp 20 which is typically attached to the end of an arm 10 for attaching the device 100a to an existing object 90, such as a rail of a baby crib, a child car safety seat, a stroller, a bassinet, a bedpost, an infant changing table, a chair, an infant automatic swing, or any other rigid object which can provide an attachment region that is in close proximity to the infant, or any relevant subject. At the opposite end of the arm 10 an accessory 30 can be attached. The device is configured to enable exchangeability between varieties of accessories. In the case of a plurality of accessories to be used concomitantly, as shown in the illustration of device 100b, a special adaptor 40 is interconnected to the clamp 20. Then a number of arms 10, compressing accessories 30, can be attached.
With reference to FIG. 2, the clamp 20 can be of any variety so long as it can be attached to the aforementioned objects which are in close proximity to the infant or another relevant subject. As is commonly the case, the clamp 20 includes two lever members 21a and 21b which are pivotally connected to one another, such as by an axle 22 in a traditional manner. Such an axle comprises a main piece 22' and a smaller cap piece 22". Biasing means, such as a spring 23 is provided in order to maintain the clamp 20 in a closed state while at rest. First ends of the lever members 21a and 21b comprise handles 24a and 24b which can be pressed towards one another, for example, by an individual's thumb and fingers in order to open the clamp 20. At the opposite end of the lever members 21a and 21b are clamping members 25a and 25b.
