Description
A DEVICE AND METHOD FOR ADDING CAPSULES OF FLAVOR TO LIQUID
CONTAINER OR FOCET
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[Para 1 ] A simple adaptable external device to be set on nozzles of different containers, for adding capsu les of flavor to any liquid container or faucet supplying liqu id, without the need of special adaptation measures. A suitable solution for end user.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION AND PRIOR ART
[Para 2] Numerous bottled drinks are manufactured by mixing concentrates in large quantities of water. The flavored drinks are either bottled or distributed as flavor bottles to be added to liquid by end user. The present invention offers a simple device into which a flavor capsule is inserted by end user and gives him the variety of many flavored bottles of drinks. Nyambi, et al in US8,276,748 teaches a similar idea, but limited. He provides a spout for an associated container for dispensing a substance into the container. The spout may include a cap, a capsule that can be filled and sealed with a sealing layer, and a nozzle that can be screwed onto the container and carries a piercing device protruding therein such that the sealing layer of the capsule is pierced by the piercing device u pon the turning of the cap. The concentrate is mixed
with the liquid only when the consumer opens the bottle for the first time. For this purpose, the concentrate is added automatically into the liquid or in the water such that both are mixed when the consumer opens the bottle for the first time. The invention taught in US8,276,748 and in other similar patents is limited to bottles and/or limited in the variety of flavors to be used in each serving. The present invention is not limited either to bottles or to flavors to be served. From same container or same faucet a variety of flavors may be served, just by changing the capsule even for the same cup of drin k.
[Para 3] The present invention enables the end user to attach the device not only to bottles, but also to faucets, to reused bottles or to home water-bar. The present invention may also be used with a home cooler faucets, it does not harm the products. The present invention enables the use of different flavor capsules with same container or faucet, by changing the capsules in the device.
[Para 4] The present invention teaches such a simple adaptable external device for adding capsules of flavor to any liquid container or faucet, that it is safe and simple to be used by children.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[Para 5] A simple adaptable device for adding capsules of flavor to any liquid container or faucet su pplying liqu id, reused bottles, home water-bar and refrigerator faucets, without the need of professional adaptation measures.
[Para 6] The device consists of 2 main parts. (1 ) a device that connects to any container or faucet; (2) changeable flavor capsule.
[Para 7] The connection between the device and the liquid container/faucet is by attaching plug connector (A) to water exit pipe. No electrical or infrastructure changes are needed. The connection is esthetic and nice to look at. The user may get pu re water or flavored water upon wish.
[Para 8] The product consist of 7 parts all of which are assembled into the main body: plug connector (A); main body (B); cone with a spring (C); capsule cartridge (D); flavor capsule(E); safety pin (G), and bar gripper (F). The inside of the product is hollow to allow water flow.
[Para 9] On one side of plug connector (A) is water entrance tubu le (1 03), with which the device is connected to liquid container or faucet, secured by 2 capturing projections (1 01 & 1 02) to prevent leakage. On the other side is hexagonal screwing (1 04) which connects plug connector (A) to main body (B), suitable for opening and closing with a ring key. Plug connector (A) is changeable according to desired diameter of entrance tubu le (1 03) to fit the bottle or appliance with which the device is used.
[Para 1 0] Flavor capsule (E) fits into capsule cartridge (D). Cartridge (D) enters with a squeeze into main body (B) and the capsu le is ejected by pressing bar gripper (F).
[Para 1 1 ] End user may change either the flavor capsule when dissolved or the capsule cartridge, if he wishes to use different flavors at the same time or serving and flavor capsule is not yet exhausted.
[Para 1 2] Part B is the main part of the device, onto which all other parts are connected, and into which the capsule is put. 3 springs enter into part B. One
operates the pressure to eject the capsule with part C. Another spring , which activates the safety pin shown in Fig. 8, to keep the capsule in place preventing it from dropping out. This spring is shown on the upper part of main body B. The third spring in part F is for releasing the safety pin to eject the capsule.
[Para 1 3] The flavor capsule may be of any solid substance. The capsule is pushed into opening 404 of capsule cartridge D and is ready to be used when capsule cartridge D is inside the device.
[Para 1 4] The device when assembled functions as follows:, plug connector is screwed to main body on one side, main body contains capsule cartridge, locked in place by bar gripper and secured by safety pin, when liquid entrance tubule is attached to liquid container or faucet, the liquid reaches capsule and exits through lower part of capsule cartridge as flavored liquid, dissolving the capsule, which is then ejected by pressing the bar gripper, that releases the safety pin to eject the capsu le.
[Para 1 5] The flavor capsule in the device may be replaced by different flavor capsule without its complete dissolving and is ejected through lower part of capsule cartridge and replace by a different capsule.
[Para 1 6] These and other features of the present application will become apparent to one of ordinary skill in the art upon review of the following detailed description when taken in conju nction with the drawings and the appended claims.
