CAMPO DE APLICACIÓN DE LA INVENCIÓN FIELD OF APPLICATION OF THE INVENTION
The field of application of the present invention is part of the industry sector dedicated to the manufacture of protective helmets, while covering the field of electrical and / or magnetic stimulation devices and devices of the brain.
ANTECEDENTES DE LA INVENCIÓN BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
As is known, transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS in its acronym in English: Transcranial direct current stimulation) is a form of neurostimulation that uses current, either by impulses or constant, or different forms of wave, of low voltage, applied directly in the area of the brain that interests through small electrodes . It was originally developed to help patients with brain injuries, such as strokes. However, tests in healthy adults showed that tDCS can increase cognitive performance in a wide variety of tasks, depending on the area of the brain being stimulated. In fact, it has been used to improve language and mathematical ability, ability to concentrate, problem solving, memory and coordination.
Another method used for brain stimulation is transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS): transcranial magnetic stimulation. This brain stimulation technique uses an electric coil, located over the region of interest in the scalp, that quickly applies changing magnetic fields to induce small electrical currents in the brain. There are two types of TMS: repetitive TMS and single pulse TMS. Both types are used in research therapies, although the effects that last beyond the stimulation period are only observed in the repetitive TMS type. Similar to the above tDCS, using this technique an increase or decrease in neuronal activity can be achieved, although the way in which this is induced is very different. Transcranial direct current stimulation has two different directions of current that cause different effects, while with repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation, the increase in neuronal activity is induced by the use of a higher frequency and the decrease in neuronal activity. induces by using a lower frequency.
In any case, both TMS and tDCS are painless techniques and considered safe for human use. However, TMS is more expensive, difficult to implement, and specific coil support may be necessary, while tDCS is relatively easy to apply. Transcranial magnetic stimulation makes the action potentials on the neuron they are targeting stronger, while tDCS only causes a spontaneous increase in the affected cells that does not have such a large effect.
Well, the objective of the present invention is to take advantage of the described neuronal stimulation techniques to increase the brain and reaction capacity of an individual who is wearing a head protection element, by integrating the necessary means to this in said protection element that said individual already uses and, therefore, is in direct contact with his head
It is worth mentioning, on the other hand, that in reference to the current state of the art, although the existence of devices and devices for the application of brain stimulation techniques is known, there is no known head protection element that present technical and constitutive characteristics equal to or similar to those disclosed here.
OF THE INVENTION Thus, the head protection element, with brain stimulation that the invention proposes, is configured as a remarkable novelty within its field of application, since according to its implementation the aforementioned objectives are satisfactorily achieved, the characterizing details making it possible, conveniently set out in the final claims that accompany the present specification. One of the sensations that the user can have that uses the element of protection of external factors, when for example driving, piloting or traveling at high speed or for example skiing, will be that his whole environment moves more slowly. In fact, an effect produced by brain stimulation through the proper placement of electrodes and / or magnets and / or electro-magnets is that it causes the brain to process the information and data obtained from the environment faster to send a better and more rapid response to the body, improving by Both the individual's reflexes.
