Definitions

  • the present patent relates to a package for storing medical or dental devices, particularly for storing dental implants in a fixed fashion in a sterile environment, so that said dental implant may be available for use and later removed from such package with the use of an external instrument.
  • Packages and containers for storing medical or dental devices which need to be kept in a sterile environment until they are to be used, usually during a medical procedure, are known in the state of the art. That way, such packages maintain the medical device in a sterile environment until a qualified professional has to handle such a device.
  • Patent document PI0114545-2 originally titled "PACKAGE”, discloses a glass-shaped package manufactured in titanium and provided with a snap-fit mechanism and can be cited as an example of such packages. A dental implant is thus positioned in the snap-fit mechanism and kept in a sterile environment until a qualified professional removes it from the package.
  • the snap-fit mechanism radially presses the dental implant, but it allows the dental implant to rotate around its reference axis. Disadvantageously, that rotation makes it difficult for the coupling of a proper tool on the dental implant.
  • a further drawback presented in said package lies in the fact that it does not provide an appropriate support point underneath the dental implant base, thus allowing it to come loose from the snap-fit mechanism towards the bottom of the package when trying to fit in a tool on its top part. • the present invention proposes a simple structured and easily manufactured package, designed to 5 maintain a medical or dental device in a stationary position until a qualified professional wishes to remove it from the package so as to make it easier to couple a proper tool to the medical or dental device.

  • Another object of the present invention is a package provided with a support point underneath the medical or dental device base, positioned in such a way so as to prevent it from moving down.
  • Still another object of the present invention is a package provided with 15 titanium plates installed in the medical or dental device support points in the package.
